Agree. There are 3 good PGs we can get in Walker, Irving and Knight. I would take any one of the three plus the center that was supposed to end up at Kentucky or Williams. -

I'm not a fan of Leonard, at all. However, if you can get him in the 2nd round it's a no brainer. If anyone takes him in the lottery I think it's a mistake. -
Commander of AwesomeHow does he compare to Luke Jackson? I havent seen him play once this season yet a co-worker compared him to Luke Jackson.

WooballI heard Jalen Rose compare Williams' game to Paul Pierce today on WKNR. I feel that is a much better comparison than to Andre Iguadola. While I think it is questionable whether or not Williams will be able to defend the 3 in the NBA, I can see similarities between Pierce's and Williams' offensive abilities. I also see the David West comparisons, although I think DWill is more athletic which is why people are hoping he can play the 3 in the NBA.
It will be interesting to see what the Cavs end up doing with the TPE. There is no way they just let the exception expire for cap room. While this years draft is said to be weak, it would be interesting if they are able to add another top 12 pick. -
thedynasty1998Williams is so strong and athletic that he can get away playing the 4, even thought he will be slightly undersized.
I really don't see the comparisons to a 2 or 3 guard. I see him more as a Blake Griffin type than a Paul Pierce.
Other guys off the top of my head that I think he compares to are: Amare Stoudemire and Josh Smith
As I'm sure most heard during the game last night, they talked about how he was the 5th freshman on their depth chart after signing day and they considered redshirting him. So, that tells me he has really developed his game at a rapid rate over the last two seasons and I think he will continue to get better. -

There is no way Leonard will be available in the 2nd round. -

Every mock draft i've seen hasn't had Leonard available past the 15th pick. He will not be available in the 2nd round.sleeper;724096 wrote:Leonard would be our 3rd best player. He's a beast, he's smooth, and he could be had in the 2nd round. -
zach24ozDerrick Williams should be the definite #1 pick for the Cavs...after watching him last night he almost single handedly was beating Duke by himself...was on fire shooting 3's and had a couple nice throw down dunks! He is an exciting player to watch! If they get Williams and could get Kemba Walker...that would be a great draft already for them. 2 great scorers and Williams has a LeBron type build. Has him listed at 6'8 240...I'd say that's a pretty good combo of size and athleticism and something you cannot pass up.

JesterRealgm's mock draft:
Pick #1: Derick Williams
Pick #8: Alec Burks
Pick #31: Norris Cole
Pick #54: Robin Benzig -
grodtI've been a huge Derrick Williams fan for awhile now and every tournament game that I watch just further deepens that interest. He's who I want #1 and then a PG/SG with the next pick.

MulvaGood to hear Joe Tait back on the call for the Cavs tonight.

like_thatWhat are the chances we still make that trade for rip and the pistons lottery pick? I know the draft is not going to be as strong as most years, but 3 lottery picks is pretty legit, considering the cavs will most likely be a top lottery pick the following draft as well.
I played with the ESPN lotto machine (pretending the pistons pick is ours), and the best i got was 1,2, and 7th overall picks. That would be awesome. Then the following year lebron and wade tear their ACL's so we get their lottery pick. -

ha that would be awesome. I bet Bosh would do something to his leg on purpose as well so he wouldnt have to play.
as for the Pistons pick I know a deal was in place before the deadline but Rip Hamilton refused the buy out offer from the Cavs. I think the deal could be revisited in the offseason and I agree, 3 lottos pick would be incredible. -
hoops233 lotto picks would be more than incredible...
I would LOVE to have Irving and Barnes...
I'd love Derrick Williams too... -

This. I dont know if any of those guys will be coming out though. I think the potential lockout is going to keep alot of these top picks in school. -
Commander of AwesomeMinn is only half game back from the Cavs for the most lotto balls. They lost to Clippers last night too....SMH, watch the cavs blow it.
-
like_thatCavs are blowing it right now. Have been beating Toronto all game.

wes_mantoothWill someone please take out Baron's knees....wtf is he doing?
-
like_thatHow do they determine a tie for lotto percentages?

They get an even amount of lotto balls. It happened the year the Cavs drafted Lebron. -

haha. I want the lottery balls but I cant help but cheer for these idiots. Baron was workin the Raptors in the 4th quarter. -
daveCavs have some very interesting decisions. This will be a PG heavy draft, I wouldn't be surprised if they wait til round 2 to grab one. Baron and Ramon are locked up for 2 more years.
Personally I think getting Williams and Kemba would be the best fit for the team. Baron/Kemba/Williams/JJ/AV would be one hell of an athletic team.
No matter who they get I don't see them getting a top 10 pick next year. Maybe if they draft something like Irving and Kanter they will struggle. -

I gotta disagree with this. If Irving is there you draft him. Find another home for Sessions or Davis and draft Irving.
I dont like Kembas game at the next level. Hes not a true PG and he's too small to play SG. I dont want a 6 foot Kemba Walker starting at SG. I like the idea of Irving or Williams/Barnes,if they come out. I wouldnt have a problem with going after a big like Kanter either. -
like_thatApparently the cavs don't want to have the highest lottery percentage as they are leading the pistons right now with 3 mins left. WTF are they doing?
