Cleveland Browns 2011 Super Awesome In-Season Thread

lhslep134I got you BR.
-
BR1986FBThanks, man.
-
lhslep134Man is it just me or does it feel like the lockout is deflating my excitement for the draft? Not only because football isn't being played, but trades are going to be far less common because you can't involve players, and trades are exciting.
I remember when I went to the '07 Draft and the trade was announced Randy Moss to NE for a 4th rounder we were all shocked and the Jets fans started booing bc they knew what they were in for.
End rant. -
BR1986FBI'm still excited but I hate the start time. I'm usually in bed by 9pm (wake up at 4:15am) so it's probably going to be close to 9:30 when the Browns pick. If they trade down it will be worse. LOL

BR1986FBTake this FWIW but Mantooth's boy, The Hammer, on WKNR is reporting this rumor....
Browns trade:
2011 2nd rounder (37th overall)
2012 1st round pick
Vikings trade:
2011 1st round pick (12th overall)
This would give us #6 & #12 in this years draft... -
royal_kI like the 2 picks in the 1st round, but giving up next year's number 1, I don't like.
I guess there's always ways to get back in next year.
But, why would Minni want to give up this year's 1st? They need help now. -

I was wondering this myself. -

Not sure if I like giving away next year's first round pick, especially for a team that needs all the picks it can take each draft. If this is true, maybe the Browns are planning on trading the #6 pick. -
BR1986FBAt this point, I'll sit back and let Heckert work his magic....draft may be more interesting than first anticipated....
-
royal_kPlus we'd be giving up 2 picks for 1.
-
Laley23If that went down, Id assume the Browns would then flip either 6 or 12 for something. I doubt they give up a first and second for just a first.
-
Commander of AwesomeNo offense but I dont trust Hammer or his sources at all. The guy is a complete joke. He's a broncos fan right? Works for the Rizzo show which reported Bill Cowher's house in strongsville story. They also failported a bunch of cavs trade stuff that that also turned out to be fiction.

This would kind of be my mode of thinking. They may have a deal in place with Dallas, Washington or Houston depending on who falls to them. -

No doubt but it's fun to talk about and beats the hell out of the lame conversation that we've been dealing with waiting for the draft to arrive. -
Laley23Ive successfully tuned out the draft stuff until today. I waned to not get caught up in it all until the week of. It just gets so monotonous and time consuming for something that people are only speculating on. Ive tried this for 5 years, and this is the first year ive been successful lol.

haha Mel Kiper and Tod Mcshay have the easiest job ever! I think the only 2 jobs their are where you can be completely wrong and still have a job is either a draft guru or weatherman.
I agree though they say the same thing everyday and it gets old.
I'd much rather talk you with find gentleman about the draft and get your take on who the Browns need to draft. -

And those dumbasses are SO bad that they should be weatherman.OQB;749613 wrote:haha Mel Kiper and Tod Mcshay have the easiest job ever! I think the only 2 jobs their are where you can be completely wrong and still have a job is either a draft guru or weatherman. -
OQB^exactly!
Here's an interesting updated mock draft from WalterFootball.com

BR1986FBI am getting the feeling that the Browns won't take Jones at #6. If Gabbert's there we just gotta hope someone really likes him and comes calling.
-
OQBI liked all the picks in that draft BUt our first pick....I don't think we reach for Jones there. Ideally we move back.
-
BR1986FBI think I just shit myself laughing. There was an NFL.com survey over on Facebook regarding "does you team need the draft" and some fool gets on there and says "no, we just blow the draft picks and get rid of all of the good players like Brady Quinn." I set him straight.

lol....I saw that -
grodtTake it FWIW, but Adam Schefter doesn't think that the Browns are a team looking to trade down in the draft.
