Cleveland Browns 2011 Super Awesome In-Season Thread

Commander of AwesomeI'm glad. I don't buy the "only two prospects they're looking at" bs. Heckert's better than that.
-
OQBI'm not going to say anything that would come back to bite me, but I will say this.....I sure am glad Heckert is in charge of our draft!

agreed man. the browns have a chance to grab and elite talent and i highly doubt we trade down for a sub par player. -

What does this mean regarding trades, etc. I read through that article, but pretty quick, and it didnt seem to mention anything about the business side, particularly the upcoming draft. -

Owners will file their own stay and once again will be nowhere -

As well you should be. The team isn't very good right now but the consensus around the league ("league" doesn't include "Corky" from OC) is that the Cleveland Browns are in VERY good hands. There is reason to be optimistic. Heckert's track record is proven. -

We'll see. -

Only if the appeals court agrees with their "claim" -

the "legal expert" on espn said that theres a good chance they won't agree with the NFL appeal. and they are going to set up rules for this come year. guess we will see. i just don't want the NFL to end up like the MLB. -
Crimson streakHow amazing would it be if that trade with minny would go down and the browns pick up Peterson and jj watt with those 2 picks. Those 2 alone would take our defense so far

We've ALREADY "seen." Look at his body of work in Philadelphia. -

Capone does a lot of this already, not sure he needs more encouragement. -
wes_mantoothYeah, heckert has a great track record, so I won't be upset no matter who they take. Of course I thought the same about phil savage.....fml

Heckert's track record is quite a bit more extensive than Savage's ever was. -
BR1986FBPray that the judge doesn't grant the NFL (owners) a "stay" before Thursday. If they don't receive a stay I believe that players will be able to be traded during the draft.

I just hope Shurmur called McCoy the second he got the news to go over the playbook. Same with Dick and the Defense. -
BR1986FBGBN mock has the Browns trading down to #10 with the Skins who grab Gabbert. We get #10 (draft Tyron Smith-OT), #144 and a conditional 2nd that can turn into a 1st in 2012. Not a fan of the pick.

Not a fan of the pick, but the trade is pretty good imo. -
OQBWhat about free agents.......are they still off limits?
This is what upsets me the most about the enitre situation........no free agency. I'm not saying we were going to get a HOF player but it would be nice to upgrade some of our needs through free agency. -
wildcats20There have to be rules in place before anything can happen, which is what I gathered from listening to the ESPN guys.

yes free agency is still off limits. they need to set rules if the appeals court agrees with judge nelson -
Midstate01I hope the players show up tomorrow morning and get playbooks. At least this way if the judge grants the NFL's wish and resumes the lockout, they at least can work of the shurmur playbook and language.
