I wouldn't mind the pick. Except for the fact he stated he wants to play somewhere warm. SMH. However I think someone else above him on their board will be available so I doubt the Browns would take him.

Never understood when a player says that. Don't they realize the the schedule might have them playing in GB in December regardless if their from SD or Miami? Idiot Comment of the Draft right there.

I'd love to have Andrew Luck as well but even if we just use our #6 and didn't trade for additional picks, I don't see the Browns vying for #1 overall pick in 2012. If Colt McCoy isn't the real deal, I still think Seneca Wallace could be a capable QB that would get us to at worst the 5-10 range which by then I think Luck would be taken already.

I wouldn't be surprised if he or Quinn were the pick. Heckert seems to not be shying away on the negatives of these two. I wouldn't be thrilled with Fairley unless they pulled that trade with Minny and he was taken at 12.

Agree. When I saw the potential Minnesota trade article, I immediately tried to project where they would be picking next year. I'm guessing at worst #4, at best mid teens.
    Is Julio Jones worth that?

Tough call. I looked at the #12 pick's record from 2007-2010. The team with that pick usually has 7-8 wins with Minnesota being the exception this year with only 6 wins. By trading next years pick we would be essentially saying that with Julio Jones in the mix the Browns believe they'll finish better (or equal to) 7-9 or 8-8. There are so many factors that are at play with late free agency, player development, injuries, etc that will go on between this draft and next but I don't think that getting to 6-8 wins is an outrageous proposition.

The Oklahoma City Thunder would respectfully disagree.

I doubt he is talking as much about playing the game as he is living. 1 game anyone can deal with, actually living in GB would be miserable for the months of the season.

Don't you realize that a player who plays in a warm city will probably live and work there for 9+ months of the year, as well as playing 8 games there and 3 others against divisional foes who have the same type of climate?

Guess ya had the idiot comment of the thread there. "Pwned"

They didn't play to win now. They won by building for the future. What's confusing about that? You said "win now" I implied that's not always right. 2 years ago they were 23-59.

Yes. Im not saying sell everything for a single player or anything. Im saying, you cant NOT make a move that is good in hopes you land a player in next years draft. Now, they have to decide if this move is a good move or not, but turning it down because it takes you out of the Andrew Luck sweepstakes is a huge mistake imo. There is NO guarantee he will be a Brown, just because we have a first rounder.

I mean I definitely agree with that.

Truthfully, I hope we draft a QB in the lower rounds who is accurate and therefore good for the WCO. Two names that jump out that should grade out to around a 4th or 5th round that I would like are Greg McElroy and Scott Tolzien. Both are very accurate, and have sneaky mobility. Even taking a chance on Pat Devlin just for some competition wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Yeah maybe they play in SD but have KC and Denver in their division? LOLFAIL. Or play in Miami but have a division game in NE in Dec? LMAO nice fail dipshit. Also most players dont live in the city they play in. Players like Cribbs are the exception.

According to Sirius radio (interview) AJ Green has been contacted most by the Bengals and Browns and has been given Colt McCoy's phone number to work out with him should the Browns select him.

They kind of like Stanzi from Iowa.

They all live in the city during the season, so essentially half the year.

I liked this part of the post best, "He also said it's "unlikely" the Browns would offer their 2012 No. 1 pick to acquire an additional first-round pick this year."

It's a little different in basketball where you build a team w/ 12 players as opposed to 50+ in the NFL. A Kevin Durant immediately turns your team around. In football I think you should take the players you think will help when the opportunity arises.

Just another reason why I don't want Fairley. Seems like a pussy who has some sense of entitlement that he has to play in a warm weather city. Chances are he will bolt when he is a free agent. Cold weather teams are tougher, and chances are high that you have to go through a cold weather team to win a SB. Hell you might have to play a SB in a cold city (NYC).

thats what I really think, especially with the Carson Palmer situation. But even if they don't pick a QB, I still dont see them picking him. They have plenty of old and young talent on the roster at that position.

I'll agree with the young but there's a good chance that Owens & Stinko will both be gone leaving them with a bunch of unproven youth and no #1.
