Cleveland Browns 2011 Super Awesome In-Season Thread

That's an interesting take on Jones.......

Both Green and Jones are tall but very very lean...... I would want them to bulk up if we picked either of them. I hope we can stay away from them though and get a wco reciever in rounds 2 or 3.

I think right now if Peterson, Dareus, Green are gone and we can't trade out of the 6th pick that we will draft Robert Quinn...who some say is better than Bowers at getting to the QB.

There are a lot of players I like, but only 2 or 3 I like at #6. PEterson, Miller and Dareus. Im guess the only one who has a chance of being there is Peterson, so if hes gone. Trade down if possible.

I'm still laughing my ass off at that "Steelers are the most knowledgeable fan base because of their winning tradition" shit that is still trying to be justified over on the Penguins thread. If ANYTHING, that bunch is the LEAST knowledgeable/front running fan base in football. If I had a nickel for every Yinzer fan that I knew who only knew TheRapist and the Grinning Possum (Whines Hard) when asked "name 5 Steeler players", I'd be Donald Trump.

lol I know, what a fucking joke. I'm glad I recalled it to through it in his ass when the Pens lost. It's hilarious how's he is trying to spin it now.

I'll be the first to say that both teams have VERY strong fan bases but to imply that a team that has a tradition of winning over one that does not is MORE "knowledgeable" is preposterous.

If I walked down the street where I live with ALL of the local frontrunners/bandwagoners, saw a Steelers "fan" wearing a Pittsburgh t-shirt and asked "quick...name me the starting five offensive lineman for the Steelers", I MIGHT get "Pouncey" and after that if would be "wut?" with a bunch of drool dribbling down the chin.

Big time, also he forgets to add the 80s/early 90s when the Browns dominated them.

    lol

Little quiet so far on Browns draft news this morning. I expected more articles from the PD instead got nothing by Sci Fi from tony Grossi and fluff from Mary Kay.

Mary Kay seems to think they will take Prince or Tyron Smith at #6.
  • BR1986FB
The Browns have the following players rated so closely, that though one player may be off the board, the option of taking the next at the position doesn’t appear to be of concern to the Browns

The players in question are Marcell Dareus and Nick Fairley, Patrick Peterson, Prince Amukamara, AJ Green & Julio Jones.

Have also heard a San Francisco (#7) trade up to #5 (Cardinals) for Patrick Peterson, if he's there, may be in play.

If your still in your teens you would not remember the early 90's.

ESPN reported that the Patriots have shown an interest in moving up. A league source said the Patriots have spoken to the Browns about the sixth pick and Quinn would be the likely target, although receiver Julio Jones and cornerback Patrick Peterson cannot be discounted.

The Patriots could package the 17th and 28th picks to move up. Or the 17th, 60th (second round), 74th (third), and perhaps a late pick.

I'd be all for a trade to get the 17th and 28th pick.

If none of those top guys you really wanted (Peterson, Dareus, Miller, andf Green) were not there what direction would they go if they stayed at #6? I'm not sure if you pick Jones or Prince at 6 but if they feel those guys are worthy of the pick then go ahead...and after reading about the possibility of Tyron Smith, it oesn't sound all that bad even though it's not that sexy of a pick. You would have Joe Thomas and Tyron Smith as your tackles, Alex Mack Center and plug in guards and that could be a pretty good Oline for several years possibly.

That "late round QB" that Holmgren talks of taking? Remember the name Tyrod Taylor (Va Tech).

yeah he seems like Seneca Wallce Jr.

    Mary Kay is on Crack.

I don't know about trading with the patriots. Ideally I think you want to trade down and still be able to get that high impact guy at 10 or 12 (Julio Jones, Quinn, Fairly Bowers etc.) Those guys are still top shelf guys that won't be around later in the first round.
  • buckeyes_woowee
How sweet would it be to get the 17th and 28th and get like a Castonzo and Cam Heyward!

No doubt having the 17th, 28th, and 37th could give us 3 potential starters. I like this, only if the Minny deal is not going to happen.

Not that it means anything but Holmgren said yesterday they won't be using future picks to move back up into the 1st round (proposed Minny deal). He wasn't even sure if the 2012 pick could be traded.
  • OneBuckeye
Didn't see this, but if it has been posted it is worth seeing again.

Wait how does NE have the 28th pick? Thought they had the 17th and 2 early 2nd rounders?
