Specifically, San Francisco at #7. That's why teams like Washington (#10) and Minny (#12) would trade up to 6 to leapfrog SF.

Probably not as excited as you when you have your neighbors sheep all alone in a dress but Hillis on the cover would be a nice feather in Cleveland's cap. Now don't get excited or have "fowl" thoughts because I said "feather" Yinzer.

lol BR you know thats going to go right over capwned's pea sized head.

Am I excited about Hillis possibly being on the cover of Madden.......I am just happy that a Cleveland athlete (other than LeBum) is getting some attention and recognition. Their is always the thought of the Madden curse, but honestly can Cleveland be cursed anymore than what we are? haha

Kind of my thoughts. The recognition would be nice.

Maybe they could bait SF to move up one spot to #6, we get #7 and something later like Detriot pulled over the Browns for Solider Winslow.

Would be nice. Hopefully it would work out better for the Browns than it did for the lions.

I really did not have a dog in this fight and have never have a personal problem with your post, I was pointing out a fact for you. Now that you decided that you know it all, I would like to let you know that I personally know the travel schedule for the Browns. They leave on Saturday mornings for a Sunday 1pm kickoff. They fly to the city and check into the hotel (usually a nice one with HVAC), they do not spend any time outside until game day. They have a full practice in Berea on Friday at 11:30 am for weeks that they travel. They leave the city that they are in one hour after the game ends (even in New Orleans after the upset win last year).

Agreed. I've heard trade down scenarios with both Atlanta & New England and I wouldn't want to go that low. Not that I think the Hoodie would trade up to #6. The #12 spot would be about right.

That maybe a new team trend under Erica Womangini but that was not the case under RAC or Botch. My cousin worked for the team until he was let go after RAC and Savage were canned.

I dont claim to know it all, nice way to put words in my mouth though.

By chance is your cousin now in San Diego?

No, I havent talked to him in a while but last I heard he was still unemployed. He was part of the equipment/training staff not the OC.

So that means browns fans have to go buy it for the cover :) Is there some kind of curse that goes with it?
What marketing, let fans vote and then the most fans voting have to buy :)

lol I'll give you a copy of the cover after I buy it. :D

As for the curse.....Cleveland can't be cursed anymore than what they are lol I'm not too worried, I'll take the recognition.

Joe Haden said on ESPN last week that he hopes the Madden Curse will cancel out whatever curse Cleveland has right now. Hope he's right lol

    About 24 hours away...

After hearing more and more, if they HAVE to go WR at #6, which I don't think they will, I hope they take Julio Jones over AJ Green. Green does NOT fit the WCO system. He's more of a "stretch the field" kind of guy and Heckert will be looking for guys with strong YAC after taking in 10-20 yard passes, which the WCO predicates. Green IS a better receiver but I'd rather see someone who can catch the short pass and take off.

Julio Jones does seem like an "AFC North WR" type of player. Strong, physical, bruiser.

Exactly. I'm not disqualifying Green as a receiver, as I think he's more gifted, but Jones should be able to bust out of tackles, for the reason you mentioned, and get the YAC that Heckert is looking for.

Desean Jackson, who Heckert took in Philly, is kind of the "broken mold" of the WCO receiver. He is a LEGIT deep threat and adds a new wrinkle to Andy Reid's version of the WCO. The difference with Jackson is that he has/had McNabb & Vick throwing him the ball and those guys have rocket launchers. Colt McCoy doesn't.

Call it a smokescreen but Heckert doesn't place as much value on WR's, RB's, LB's etc as he does on the QB, OL/DL & CB. I could see them waiting until the 2nd or 3rd round before selecting a WR. I don't think he's necessarily looking for a "#1 receiver" as much as he's looking for a "better than the crap we have now receiver."

I am not so sure that Patrick Peterson is going to be around when the Browns are up to make their pick...so if that's the case and Gabbert or Newton are on the board, I could see us trading down to the Skins or to the Vikes and take Julio Jones (assuming that's why they trade down). Because if AJ Green, Patrick Peterson, Marcell Dareus, and Von Miller are off the board'm not sure who they would take at 6 unless they go ahead and rake Jones there if they feel good about him.
  • BR1986FB
I wouldn't take Jones at 6 but then again, I didn't think they'd take Haden last year at the spot they did.
