HitsRusThus proving QO point of the neighbor being intimidated not to report something out of fear of being labelled a racist.
The facts of this are that the neighbor saw something suspicious enough to consider reporting it to the authorities, but did not because of FEAR of being accused of racial profiling. There is not enough information provided here to determine what made him suspicious ... Only that he was suspicious and didn't report it because of fear of what you and several others on this site are attempting to do to QO...label him a racist...
The sad thing is that if he had reported it, for whatever reason, 14 people might still be alive. -
QuakerOatssherm03;1767319 wrote:Exactly. You don't report a person or persons unless there is something abnormal or suspicious. Since the neighbor never noticed anything abnormal or suspicious, why are you all up in arms that he didn't report anything?
Sure he noticed something abnormal; otherwise he wouldn't have noticed.

QuakerOatsThe only good thing about this is apparently the people attending the conference/gathering at the facility were on a break, and thus many of them had left that room and gone to bathrooms etc... otherwise you could probably easily double the amount of deaths. And it also appears there was probably a second target somewhere else, but fortunately the police killed the terrorists before they could carry that out.

QuakerOatsAnd then there is this:
Loretta Lynch Vows to Prosecute Those Who Use 'Anti-Muslim' Speech That 'Edges Toward Violence'

The day after a horrific shooting spree by a "radicalized" Muslim man and his partner in San Bernardino, California, Attorney General Loretta Lynch pledged to a group of Muslim activists that she would take aggressive action against anyone who used "anti-Muslim rhetoric" that "edges toward violence."
Speaking to the audience at the Muslim Advocate's 10th anniversary dinner Thursday, Lynch said her "greatest fear" is the "incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric" in America and vowed to prosecute any guilty of what she deemed violence-inspiring speech.
Assuring the pro-Muslim group that "we stand with you," Lynch said she would use her Justice Department to protect Muslims from "violence" and discrimination.
"When we talk about the First amendment we [must] make it clear that actions predicated on violent talk are not American."
Claiming that violence against Muslims is on the rise and citing France's clamp down on potentially radicalized mosques, Lynch suggested the Constitution does not protect "actions predicated on violent talk" and pledged to prosecute those responsible for such actions.

I still haven't read anything stating he was afraid of being labeled. The story Quaker posted said he didn't want to racially profile. To me that reads more like, "I know Middle Easterners in my neighborhood and they are having guests I don't recognize. But being suspicious of people just because they're foreign and I don't know them...that's kind of shaky, so I'll let it slide." Not "I bet something's going on with those strangers coming to the Middle Easterner's house in the neighborhood, but I better not say anything because I'm afraid of being labeled".HitsRus;1767335 wrote:Thus proving QO point of the neighbor being intimidated not to report something out of fear of being labelled a racist.

If there is an article where he explicitly states that he had concrete suspicions, but didn't say or do anything to act on them because he was afraid of being labeled, then by all means, show it. If there isn't, you're just taking something and expanding it to fit your personal narrative (that PROGRESSIVE BOOGEYMAN is ruining us all!!!!!), which isn't anything different than what you and others on here were saying about the media and their reactions to Ferguson/Michael Brown. -

In fact, I'll post again because then maybe it will get his attention.QuakerOats;1767150 wrote: A man who has been working in the area said he noticed a half-dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks.
It is NOT racial profiling, it is CRIMINAL profiling (just like the Israeli's do at their airports etc), and it is the right thing to be doing.
Actually, I'm going to post it a third time because it's so egregiously racist. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so concerning that people out there are ignorant enough to say that shit in public without comprehension of what they're actually saying.QuakerOats;1767150 wrote: A man who has been working in the area said he noticed a half-dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks.

Yes. It was stated in the article that you keep jumping to your own conclusions about. He noticed the abnormal thing of people in his neighborhood having guests he didn't recognize. It's the sort of thing that doesn't really register as anything big in most peoples' minds...unless something insane like these shootings happen, in which case a person might start thinking that they should have thought more about those strange guests.QuakerOats;1767336 wrote:Sure he noticed something abnormal; otherwise he wouldn't have noticed.

It's a pretty common thing when it comes to crime like this. Some random person kills a bunch of people and neighbors are all like "Whoa, I never would have expected this. He was a nice guy; quiet and kept to himself, but friendly if you talked to him." An outsider might read those quotes and think along the lines of "Man, a lot of these killers are described as 'polite loners'...I wonder why more people don't catch onto that", but in practical application, you probably aren't going to monitor any random person's activities because they aren't as publicly sociable as you'd want them to be. -

Show you a link? Are you 12?SportsAndLady;1767305 wrote:Didn't report what? What was there to report? Muslims?
Until you show me a link that says they saw middle eastern people do shady activities, all you're doing is joining sides with QO, which in this instance, is not a good side to be on.
Also, the Rutgers ticket thing is not really an insult. It was a job. My first one. Not sure how that's supposed to be insulting lol
The reality is, you don't understand my logical progression that a 3rd grader could grasp and you don't understand why selling Rutgers tickets as a job could be considered an insult. I'm not sure why I even bother. -

This is well stated and explains my logical progression very well. I'm not sure why people can't follow this unless you have the education of a 2nd grader.HitsRus;1767335 wrote:Thus proving QO point of the neighbor being intimidated not to report something out of fear of being labelled a racist.

Provide a link that shows he wanted to report them just because they were Muslims. The reality is, the story is incomplete. Keep calling everyone a racist though; 14 people are dead because the PC culture we live in prevents anyone but white people from being reported for suspicious activities.SportsAndLady;1767345 wrote:Yeah, a link showing there was shady activity going on.

It's actually a job where you do absolutely nothing. Unless someone lost a bet where he/she had to go to a Rutgers, who would buy Rutgers tickets?sleeper;1767343 wrote: selling Rutgers tickets as a job could be considered an insult. -
SportsAndLadySleeper is doing nothing different than what a lot of political people do--use mass killings and other tragic events to prove a political point, and reaching while doing so.
Like when Obama gets up there and talks about how we need tougher gun laws because of a school shooting. Just pushing an agenda using a tragic event.
The reality is this: I blame these two criminals and terrorists for being psychos and killing a bunch of innocent people. I blame no one else. But go ahead sleeper, keep blaming this on "us", for being the PC crowd! That's definitely what killed 14 people. Smh -

I was basing this line of reasoning on the statements made by the neighbor. Sorry for using facts to draw conclusions rather than just sticking my head in the sand and pretending everything is okay. If you don't see the damage that being PC can cause, then you are either ignorant or afraid; neither of which are desirable.SportsAndLady;1767358 wrote:Sleeper is doing nothing different than what a lot of political people do--use mass killings and other tragic events to prove a political point, and reaching while doing so.

It's already been said, but story is incomplete, however I could easily see a future crime/terrorist attack not being prevented because the person who wants to report suspicious activity will be worried about the PC crowd putting him/her thru a verbal tar and feathering of shame.SportsAndLady;1767358 wrote:Sleeper is doing nothing different than what a lot of political people do--use mass killings and other tragic events to prove a political point, and reaching while doing so.
