To ask a question maybe more in line with the thread topic, Why do liberals go after Christians with such ferocious intensity (like this DD case) and then don't bat an eye when one of their own rich, in the public eye people do equally or more personal attacks (like that Boshire(sp) guy on CNN and Baldwin)?

My answer would be one that dove-tails into Sherm's question/thavoice's response, where by with the liberalization and relaxing of people's moral compass's, liberals and Democrat progressives feel threatened by an infringement on their increasing popularity and power so they feel the need to viciously strike back and destroy age-old American and Christian ideals. My gut tells me that for many who elected the current crop of leaders in Washington did not realize that this would be the result of their hope and change vote.

I think your question is more of a sign of human nature. If someone from the opposite side does something wrong, a person is more likely to speak out and point out that the other side is wrong. I don't think anyone defended Bashir or Baldwin (as evidenced by the fact that neither one has their job anymore and nobody really cares). But they aren't going to have the same outcry when someone from their side does something wrong because it makes them look bad. That's not just in politics...that's in everything. When a player from your favorite team does something wrong, most people will want to defend them or make it seem less severe to save face. But if someone from a rival team does something wrong, people will call them out on it and act very indignant. Happens all the time.

As for your your second point. Sometimes age-old American ideals are just wrong when looking back in hindsight. And the same thing with Christian ideals. Why is there such a resistance to evolving and reevaluating your stance on topics?

People have different moral compasses and it's a slippery slope when one side accuses the other of immorality or tells the other that they are wrong for believing in what ever morals they have.

Its probably unlikely but will we ever reach a point where people respect each other and mind their own fucking business??

2.. Phil was using a list from First Corinthians to which he added Bestiality charge in order to demonstrate his hatred of gays. As can be seen in his 2010 sermon attacking gays and lesbians with outrageous charges including claiming they are murderers. The man is a hater and a homophobe. (both sermon and interview are found on this thread)
    3. Observing a car accident is a momentary experience. Phil grew up in Jim Crow Caddo parish. He is there for decades. Every day the signs of segregation are there. The history of racial violence is there. The Klan is there. The incidents of black resistance are recurring. And he claims only to see happy blacks, never singing the blues. “None are so blind as those who will not see.” He has the selective memory of an arch racist. He is a liar.
    1. You aren't able to to come up with a better response than a back-handed inference of me being a homophobe and racist? Nice!
    2. From what I heard, the question that got his bestiality response was immediately after the homosexual response which made the bestiality answer sound like an addition to the homosexual answer. But if you are not lying about him quoting First Corinthians, this only proves he was responding as he felt his Christian beliefs tell him to do so. In America he has that right. In America you also have a right not to listen to him. Seems silly you would get all worked up over it. Maybe we all just need to be more like the military guy who, when confronted by the anti-war protester, says, "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it".
    3. I grew up in Ohio and have been here for decades. There are signs here of segregation too. There has been racial violence here too. The Klan may be in Caddo parish, but we have democrats here too. Not sure what you mean by black resistance. Have the blacks I have worked with, as the ones Phil says he worked with, seemed happy? Yes. I am not lying! I am most assuredly not a racist! I am willing to give Phil the benefit of the doubt that he is not either as well.

Those were his experiences. He had first-hand experience of working with black people in the farms. he even said he grew up white trash and had nothing. He worked right alongside individuals that had the same, only a different color. How can you deny what he experienced first-hand? Why would he say otherwise about who he worked with?

During his time of segregation, is not the same time as what we know now. Many weren't integrated and many didn't "sing the blues" as he put it. How is that so hard to believe? How can you say anything else about his experiences? Did you live with him? Were you there with him? What documentation do you have that proves his story otherwise?
