Several examples of the long term history of racism and violence from Caddo Parish and Shreveport, its largest city. All examples have sources.
577# Examples of his hating homosexual.
Several examples of racism and happening in Caddo parish at the time Phil Robertson was living there. We have one example of Sam Cooke, famous black pioneer of rock and roll, being denied a room at the whites only holiday inn, leading for him to write a song singing the blues. All examples have citations
And as I said this showed Phil Robertson is a lying, homophobic racist, but of course you will find away to deny the charges and the overwhelming evidence to support them.
Please show me where I have showed any support for Phil Robertson.

You won't and can't because I never have once said anything of the like. But, you have your agenda and you don't care what anyone else has to say, regardless of what it is.

As my earlier posts have shown, Caddo Parish, where he grew up, was soaked with racism and intimidation. But despite local blacks resisted Jim Crow. Heck Sam Cooke even wrote a song about it. Phil Robertson is a lying, homophobic racist.

MUCH respect for how Harvey Levin has articulated himself. Was never a fan of TMZ, but I'm at least a fan of his.
Gosh a ruddies maybe Mr. Levin should read this example of Robertson's loving Christian tolerance:
Robertson in 2010: " Women with women, men with men, they committed indecent acts with one another, and they received in themselves the due penalty for their perversions. They’re full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, God-haters. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless, they are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil."

gosh, I don't know about the green but what has been shown is the jim crow racism and violence found in Caddo Parish and the black resistance to it. Much of it was happening right when Phil was there. He is a lying racist defending American Apartheid.

All else being equal, the greater our influence, the greater the sin. (See for example James 3:1)

    How about James 3:1
  • Con_Alma
    How about it indeed.

Those who teach will be judged more strictly. More critical evaluation, once determined as sinful, doesn't equate to greater damnation.

Condemnation or eternally being without God is the greatest negative result poured upon the soul. Having more scrutiny in what may or may not be a sin doesn't result in any greater penalty.

At the same time, in regard to both eternal consequences and salvation, all sins are the same. Every sin will lead to eternal condemnation Romans 6:23. All sin, no matter how “small,” is against an infinite and eternal God, and is therefore worthy of an infinite and eternal penalty. Further, and probably most important, there is no sin to great enough for God to forgive.

Of course there are variations of sin for example
    Mortal v Venial Sin
And a Purgatory for those who have committed non mortal sins.
  • Con_Alma
Variation of sin has never been my contention but rather that all separate us *from God and nothing more matters.

The notion of purgatory is a catholic teaching of a process of making oneself pure and sanctifying the being with shame and punishment I think... It doesn't seem to be widely accepted outside of the catholic church based on it being an interpretative response and not directly addressed Biblical as seen by most Christians.

These comments all lend to my point that as man in Gods eyes we are no better than Mr. Robertson and certainly no worse. Being born into sin makes us more like his than he more like the good you claimed to hold over him.

Gosh a ruddies that shows a certain amount of arrogance to be so dismissive of the Catholic Church. The church of a large majority of Christians in the world and the largest Christian Church in America. But you discount their teaching. It does differentiate among sinners.

Being dismissive of Catholic teachings is the premise of being a protestant. One could say the same about Catholicism being the only true interpretation of Christianity while being dismissive of the entire protestant movement.

It's arrogant if you want it to be and it fits your view. Catholic I am not nor will I ever be. Your goodness and you sin is no greater than Mr. Robertson's. It's no greater than mine nor is mine any greater than yours.

gosh you are so hateful toward the Catholic Church "nor will I ever be." How narrowed minded of you. But of course all your statements are your opinion. And based on a minority view of the world's Christians. But that's ok. and Phil is still a hateful homophobic racist.

To subscribe to a doctrine that is not Catholicism and deciding to not move towards Catholicism does not constitute hate any more than someone choosing to not move towards being a protestant is hateful. It takes more than holding a difference to truly have hate. I would gladly stand arm in arm with catholics most anytime I might have a chance.

Mr. Robertson admittance of sins and answering questions about his beliefs are no greater or worse than the thoughts words and actions you and I perform on a daily daily basis.
