They aren't doing themselves any favors.
The committee, also sets the bracket release at 6PM. Make it 8PM, in primetime, and it would alleviate the problem and allow them 2 additional hours to make the bracket.

The biggest problem and I'd imagine, what takes them the most time, is all of the "contingencies." For instance, the pod system and keeping teams at home. Also, teams unable to play in certain areas and unable to play certain teams because of a prior game that season or being in the same league.

Not that I want to see a Kentucky-Tennessee first round game, but lets be honest. Once you're in the NCAA's, conference is meaningless. Game location, to an extent, is meaningless. Throw all 68 teams into the mix, seed the 1, 2, 3 and 4's properly for regions in the "regional match-ups" and everyone else is fair game.

A bracket is easy to develop when you aren't having to abide by all these rules, and you could easily factor in a 3PM game on Sunday instead of ignoring the result.

Agree, it could move either way. Either push the games up to noon and release the brackets at 6:00, or keep it as is and release the bracket later.

I'd have no problem if they came out with a rule saying that all games must tip off at or before a certain number of hours before the selection.

While true, the TV scheduling with ESPN, ABC and CBS would never allow for a game to start at 11 AM. 1 PM/3:15 PM is about as feasible as it's going to get, which means a 6PM bracket deadline is a problem.

Or, you could start some of the conference tournaments a day earlier and either conclude them on Saturday, or only have a few at 1PM on Sunday.

Nebraska looks like a definite in one of the 4 #7/#10 matchups

That ball was out of bounds on the Wisky dribble.... Then they hit a 3

Agreed. They are getting in with a win here.

Likely not good news for one of the many SEC or Big XII teams still on the bubble.

They haven't sealed the win yet and that 3 could loom huge on the upset

I hope Nebraska doesn't win and Wisconsin pulls off a miracle comeback in the final minute. But I don't see it happening. It'd be awesome, though.

Students are filing towards the court....should be a quick court storm and deserved.

    Why? Nova? Duke #1?

Great. Ohio State will play their first-round tournament game at a time when I have to work and can't get out of it. If they'd been the #4, I can take Friday off as far as I know and if they'd been the #6, I'd be long done with work and ready for beers.

Worst time ever but I can make it work. My office is in Kentucky and doesn't get BTN so now I'm going to have to take a late lunch. Just can't believe fucking Nebraska finished higher in the B1G than us. SMH.

Mostly I don't want to get Kansas as the No. 2. Duke has no counter for Emiid. I think it'd be a tougher mountain to climb for Duke than Arizona, Florida or Wichita State, should the Blue Devils advance that far.

Now that Wisconsin has lost, though, getting #1 Nova in the East in MSG would be a nice draw for Duke.

The goal is to take it all....but once Duke gets past the sweet 16 I just don't care about match ups with the other contenders. Going into the tourney if I had the choice of no guarantees except Duke being the 2 in the #1 Nova bracket or Duke vs Kansas in the Elite 8.....I'm jumping on that matchup with Kansas. Maybe losing by 20 to Kansas is a hell of a lot better than losing to Eastern Michigan in Rd 1, UK in round 2 or UC in Round 3

Well, I would jump on that scenario as well if given the option. But since it is much more difficult at this point to predict whom Duke's second round or Sweet 16 matchups will be, when the Blue Devils are in a one or two seed position, I typically concentrate on which region is more preferable based on those seeds. But that's just me.

Indiana got probably the best possible draw. Illinois, then of the top seeds, they match up best with Michigan. Then ohio state is a much better draw for them than MSU or Wisconsin or Iowa, IMO. In the finals, who knows.

Note that I expect Michigan to bounce them in RD2, but it's the best possible draw.

Agree. Lots of Michigan fans groaned when seeing they might play Indiana Friday.

Careful what you wish for. Ill has won 4 of last 5 games. 3 on the road @ MSU, Minny and Iowa. Three pretty impressive wins.
