2 straight home games for duke?
So maybe miami osu? Though it seems like weve played them a few times -

Latest rumor I've seen for OSU was Maryland.Midstate01;1440182 wrote:2 straight home games for duke?

gorocks99Notre Dame @ Iowa

Duke had played three out of four years on the road in the Challenge prior to 2012 (2008 at Purdue, 2009 at Wisconsin and 2011 at Ohio State).Midstate01;1440182 wrote:2 straight home games for duke?

With that said, I'm disappointed that Duke is not playing in Ann Arbor. Would have liked to have made the hour trip up. -

I guess for some reason I thought it was home and away each year. Should be.reclegend22;1440224 wrote:Duke had played three out of four years on the road in the Challenge prior to 2012 (2008 at Purdue, 2009 at Wisconsin and 2011 at Ohio State).

reclegend22Finally, North Carolina plays Michigan State in the Challenge. I never thought it would happen.
I'm so glad Syracuse and Louisville are bringing some new blood to this tired event. Personally, I would like to see the ACC start up a series with the new Big East, or at least rotate these types of series' with other conferences to keep things interesting. -
reclegend22
I agree with that.Midstate01;1440227 wrote:I guess for some reason I thought it was home and away each year. Should be. -
gorocks99Tuesday, December 3rd
Florida State at Minnesota
Illinois at Georgia Tech
Indiana at Syracuse
Michigan at Duke
Notre Dame at Iowa
Penn State at Pittsburgh
Wednesday, December 4th
Boston College at Purdue
Maryland at Ohio State
Miami, FL at Nebraska
North Carolina at Michigan State
Northwestern at North Carolina State
Wisconsin at Virginia
Sigh ... Florida State again. -
reclegend22One thing is for certain, Minnesota will not be playing Florida State next year. Minnesota will be facing off with Louisville. That is a foregone conclusion.
-
Midstate01Acc will win this challenge by a lot.

Its a bit tough when you want the teams to be equal...and avoid rematches too often. But they do their best to go home-away from my understanding.
OSU might be the only lock.Midstate01;1440290 wrote:Acc will win this challenge by a lot. -
Laley23Single plays are starting to be released.
IU will play @ Purdue, vs Iowa and OSU.
Speculation is that the 4th will be Minny (it is away for sure, obviously).
Iowa and OSU will be tough next year, so getting both at home is awesome and avoiding them on the road is even better. Overall, about average for a single play schedule. -
Midstate01Schedule is stupid. Osu only @IU and wisky once and only has scUM at home once. Dumb.
-
Laley23
I hate the unbalanced schedule as well. But on one hand, OSU only has to play the other top 5 teams 7 times instead of 10...Midstate01;1442882 wrote:Schedule is stupid. Osu only @IU and wisky once and only has scUM at home once. Dumb.
Granted, 2 on the road is bad. But it is still better then only getting NW and PSU on the road and losing out on a surefire home win. Or getting those 2 teams at home and losing out on 2 very possible road wins. -

It sucks more because id rather play the good teams twice instead of playing shitty teams twice. -
Laley23
I kind of agree with that sentiment (for OSU this year, IU last year). But I love IUs schedule with the young team they will have.Midstate01;1442887 wrote:It sucks more because id rather play the good teams twice instead of playing shitty teams twice.
If all goes PERFECT, 14-4. Obviously that wont happen...but
Home-and-home games with Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Nebraska could see a 11-3 record. Then win OSU and Iowa at home and Purdue on the road and lost @ Minny. I give that about a 0.001% chance of happening. But its much more likely then if somethings were shifted. The schedule for IU is definitely in their favor. Now it will all depend on when they play those games and the grouping of them.
Realistically, 6 losses is more likely, imo. -
Laley23IU AD Fred Glass has stated he will try to get a home game with Purdue (Non-Con) for the coming year (and obviously will go to Mackey the following year) to keep the home-away series going twice a year.
They cannot do it at the Crossroads Classic in Indy because they are contracually obligated to rotate with ND and Butler.
It will be tough to do because Purdue has already announced its non-con schedule, so some shuffling would have to be done. But he hopes it is possible.
I would LOVE this to happen. No reason to have protected rivalries in football, and then completely ignore them in bball. So stupid. Would love for all of them to do this (UofM/OSU) etc. -
thavoiceWas not too impressed by IU lsat night. Young and will be some growing pains this year.
-
Laley23
What were you expecting. They lost 4 of their top 5 players (arguably their top 4). They lost 12/13 years of starters. They can beat anyone and lose to most. They won't be as good as last year, but because they are so young might be able to make a deeper run in march if they gel well.thavoice;1525443 wrote:Was not too impressed by IU lsat night. WebFireMitch McGary is battling some back condition and will miss the exhibition game tonight. He assures everyone he will be ready to go for the opener, but he has missed some valuable practice time.

Yeah..I know. Guess I always expect a bigger margin.Laley23;1525474 wrote:What were you expecting. They lost 4 of their top 5 players (arguably their top 4). They lost 12/13 years of starters. and btw.....did BTN have their F team announcing that game? Sounded like the guy who does our local football games on cable access!
