I guess I'm the only one who has been in their nuts all year, but you all are crazy to not be impressed with them, IMO.
I was to begin the year, but I've grown less and less impressed with them as the season goes on. They're missing something, in my opinion.

Edit: Nobody else impresses me either, though. Like I said a week or so ago, another season of mediocrity. Not much of a difference between #1 and #15.

You see mediocrity, I see parity. We just have different views, and that's cool. As I said earlier- I guess we'll find out in March.

Exactly. I'd much rather have it this way.

MSU mediocre? With Payne healthy they're probably overall the best team in the nation. Harris and Appling are ballers, and then Trice, Valentine, Gauna, Costello and especially Kaminski all play great in their roles. Really can space the floor out well and hit the 3

Is Payne healthy? No. Therefore they are fairly average.

With PJ Hairston, Carolina would be a top 10-15 team in the country.

    See how stupid that is?

I still don't see how anyone groups Arizona in as just another team this season. They have the type of talent at every position that, if the other teams are not on their game, could walk through the tournament. That's my opinion, of course, but that is a well-rounded team out there in Tucson.

Looking forward to seeing what Syracuse can do during the rest of the ACC schedule. The ACC is not great, but if Syracuse can go through it with just a loss or two, that's pretty damn impressive. So far, they're unblemished.

Haha Hairston is gone though? Payne has a bum foot right now that'll be better within a week or two

Did you watch that Pitt game? The Panthers are much better than 22nd

Yeah, I did catch some of it. Pitt is a solid team. Lamar Patterson is one of the better wings in the country. That was a great win for the Orange. Not looking forward to Duke's game at The Zoo next week. I expect a tough, grind-it-out affair ending in a five-point Pitt victory.

Arizona and Syracuse are a notch above the rest at this point, IMO.

I thought msu would be unreal this year. They are playing with what seems like 7 guys that have been there for the same 14 years that Aaron craft has been at osu.
  • Azubuike24
Made a bet today that OSU will not go 10-8 or better in the B1G.

Be hard to imagine that they'd only lose 4 more games the way they're playing.

After last night, I'm just hoping they don't lose four games in their next four games. To match the last four games. Blah.

Very sloppy game going on in Lansing. MSU looks so uncomfortable
  • reclegend22
Payne out obviously hurts, but it's that almost undisciplined and sloppy play that I think many of us have seen with Michigan State that leaves some questions. It's weird, too, because, as Midstate said, they've had this same core of guys forever. I don't think we'll really know MSU's ceiling until the tournament, because while winning their games, they don't look overly impressive.

lol, this has pretty much been Izzo's mantra throughout his MSU career

Haha, yes. It's also sort of ironic that we are still saying that this year, despite Michigan State only having one loss on the season, which is the best start the Spartans have ever enjoyed under Izzo. Can't figure that team out quite yet.
  • Ironman92
Good situational coaching by Izzo going full pressure up 5 with 13 seconds left

Indiana put up a great effort tonight. The Northwestern loss at Assembly remains puzzling, but, while perhaps not an NCAA team this year, could be dangerous moving forward if the young talent finally comes together.

Wanted to take the Hoosiers badly once the line moved to +13.5, but the service I use took it off the board. When MSU beats anybody by that much, it seems to be a great anomaly.

Exactly. People are criticizing this team left and right. THey have dealt with numerous injuries, Payne has missed games, yet they still have only one loss while playing in the best conference and having a pretty good pretty good out of conf. schedule. Thats a bit scary to me.
They may not look pretty at times. BUT this team knows how to win.

I just remember saying that when Gary Harris realizes he is the best player in the Big Ten, MSU will probably take off. Well, Payne being out has stunted that a bit, but Harris has been an animal since he finally started to take over. They will end up a #1 seed along with Arizona. Those are the 2 I am confident in right now. Syracuse I think will hit a few losses soon.

Classic "trap" game and having a young team who though they could just show up and throw their jocks out on the court and beat NW.
Very, very disappointing. I think that loss keeps them out of the tourny if they even get elevated up to be a bubble team.

Knew that MSU was going to come back and win that last time. Felt like just turing it off an dnot wasting the time and anguish to watch them blow the lead.

I think Syracuse rolls through the ACC. Maybe 3 losses. They'll be a #1 I think. Wichita State the fourth. I could see a team like Kansas or Florida sneaking by MSU, though, because they'll hit some B1G snags.

Wisconsin gonna lose their third straight. Think they got a bit overrated...
