B1G 2013-14

Lol at Minnesota missing to layups with under 5 seconds left

Big win for Chris Collins and NW today. The Wildcats now have victories at Indiana, at Wisconsin and at Minnesota, in addition to a win over an at-the-time-ranked Illinois squad. Aside from Drew Crawford, this is not a good roster. Pretty decent start to his Big Ten coaching career.

It's gotta' be between Collins and Nebraska's Tim Miles for B1G COTY, with Beilein getting a nod.

Midhigan falls to Indiana. Stauskus was a no-show.Yogi Ferrel took a page out of Matt Jone's book and completely stifled Stauskus.

    6 pts, 3 boards, 2 to's....Hoosier daddy ;)

Indiana does a TON of switching, but Prescott is correct, Yogi was on him much of the game and did an amazing job.

That at was also the best offensive game he has ever played.
  • Azubuike24
The game in Minneapolis upcoming is huge for both teams. It may go a long way to determining the last bid in the B1G, assuming MSU, UM, WIS, OSU and UIA are locks...

Indiana looked good today. Great Jones-like defense.

With Michigan State looming for the Wolverines, this felt like a great opportunity for the Hoosiers to snatch a victory from a traditional rival at home.

Yogi is a fun guard to watch.

Gotta love CBK and the ups and downs of a season. Michigan played like absolute shit today, the 2nd time in 3 games. Seems they've come back down to earth a bit.
  • Midstate01
Stauskus was playing out of his mind. He's come back to earth and they're struggling a bit. Most UM fans probably figured it'd happen. He wasn't gonna keep playing like that.

Crean is an absolute moron. Who doesn't foul down 2 in the 1-1 when the difference between game and shot clock is 5.4 seconds??

You just figuring this out about Crean? ;)

If you have paid any attention to my posts since he was hired you would know the answer is no.

Great finish in the MSU/Wisky game.

If there was ever a must-win situation, this was it for Wisconsin. Huge win for my boy Bo. For the sake of maintaining confidence moving forward, they simply could not have lost another big game at home.

Keith Appling probably would've made a difference today since Gary Harris was just awful (1-for-17 from the field at one point), but I am still not sold on Michigan State. They're good, but far from great. Probably a Sweet 16 or Elite Eight team.

Agree about Wisky. Disagree about MSU. With all the injuries this team has suffered through this year, and still be where they are currently, I think its pretty amazing. If, and thats a BIG if, they ever get healthy...personally think they are the right there with 'Cuse as best in the country.

I don't consider Syracuse the best team in the country. They have ONE road win against a top 75 RPI team. Not 1 against top 50. That's unreal. Not one win on the road against a quality team.

I'll put Zona, KU, MSU, and Florida over Cuse as most dangerous team in March.

I agree with S&L about Syracuse. They hardly ever make it as far as they should IMO so even though they are undefeated I don't see them in the same class as Kansas, Michigan State, or Florida. They are one team that I don't mind seeing in Ohio States region pretty much any year.

Still hard to argue against them. Going unbeaten this far into the season, is what it is, impressive. And watching them play, I think they are as good as any. I don't disagree with other teams being there as well.

Terry..disagree about 'Cuse with OSU. Why? Zone defense. Why does OSU struggle? Not real good shooting team. I think playing a team the quality of 'Cuse, with their zone..would/could be disasterous for OSU.

This year is a bad example because obviously Ohio State can't shoot the ball worth a shit and can't handle a zone, but any of the previous years before this I'd have taken Syracuse in our region in a heartbeat. For as good of a coach as Boeheim is he's only been to 4 Final Fours in his career, so that's why I say they don't usually scare me. Hell, even this year though I'd rather see them than Kansas, Michigan State, Duke, and Kentucky just to name a few.

Zona'd be the only one I'd object to, as I don't think they'll wind up being the same team as they would have been without a key player going down. To me, they kind of went from a Top 5 sort of team to a Top 20-25 when it's all said and done.

What an absolute fucking debacle last night by the hoosiers. That was as tough of a loss that I have watched in a very long time.

Fucking embarrasing and that loss keeps them out of the tournament, if they even had a shot at making it in the first place.

Besides MSU and UM...the rest of the big ten is a friggin toss up. Teams are just beating up on eachother, top to bottom. Last nite, this game and Neb beats Ill. Go figure. No gimmies.

Yeah, I know, but did you see the ending? Twice not being able to get the ball in and turning it over to PSU inside the last half minute?
Embarassing of a loss that IU has had in a long time.

Honestly, I didn't see it! But doesn't sound good! Are some of the IU faithful grumbling at all? I am sure Crean is pretty safe as far as job. But if this season continues as is, and if things don't go well next, I could see him starting to get some real heat.
