lol, yeah, if OSU looks good (and wins at least 1/2) at Wisc and at Iowa, I'll not feel too pessimistic going into that game. But right now, I'm pretty much expecting Illinois to "rebound" from losing at Ohio State on Thursday with them losing by 30 against the Hoosiers today.

Been an interesting season. Both Ohio State and Wisconsin have struggled a lot after being unbeaten in OOC play. Meanwhile, a Michigan team pretty much everyone here had written off is still unbeaten in the league.

Love Stauskus' game. Hate that he was a no-show at duke. After seeing McGary 's NBA stock plummet Stauskus will probably be gone after this year.

He was a bit banged up against Duke. Probably a reason he didn't play great

Nik wasn't a "no-show" at Duke. There's a reason he made (0) and attempted (2) his fewest amount of field goals in a game this season against the Blue Devils. He was defended well by Matt Jones and Tyler Thornton. Rotating on and off Michigan's leading man all night, the pair played extremely tight defense around the perimeter, ensuring Stauskus got nothing for free. It was an admirable effort against one of the nation's most elite scorers.

According to birddgog he was banged up which would, in part, explain his lack of production. He was a "No Show" because of injury or because of the defense played by duke. Either way he did not show up.
  • reclegend22
Nik scored 25 points and hit 6 threes just three days following the Duke game, in six fewer minutes. While he had missed one game due to an injury the week prior to the encounter in Cameron, most reports heading into that game were indicative that his health was just fine by that point.
  • Prescott
I stand corrected. Stauskus did not show up because duke's defense was exceptional.

Jesus Christ, no one cares. The game was 78 days ago.

    No worries.

Where is your sense of humor?

The back and fourth between you and Rec ceased to be funny 5 years ago on the old site.

Can an I get a +1 from everyone who agrees?

May I point out to you that I was posting about Stauskus with a passing and non-critical comment about duke. Rec must monitor my posts(they are very few) and chose to comment. So predictable and a bit humorous, IMO.

You phrased your original post in a way that all but guaranteed a response from me, all the way down to the intentional lowercasing of Duke. I simply responded because it's a message board and I find it enjoyable to call out your obvious cracks at Duke. Duke did not beat a Stauskas and McGary led Michigan team simply because Stauskas decided "not to show up." They beat them because they played great defense in that game, holding both Wolverine players to subpar nights.

Anyway, those who want to discuss other things are free to do so. It's a message board.

We know for FACT that McGary was very hurt.

I'll give you that. Even beating a McGary-less Michigan team would've been an impressive feat, though, as we've seen from the Wolverines' performance without him in recent weeks. This is a very good Michigan team, with or without him.

We will agree to disagree. I was not trying to solicit a response from you, but I knew one would come. That game was clearly Stauskus' worst game of the season.I never said duke won because Stauskus did not show up. I just said Stauskus did not show up and the box score validates that fact. You are reading something into the post that isn't there.

If I remember correctly , the only other time I've mentioned duke this season was when I posted that "duke gets a pass" because k was dealing with his brother's death.
Two non-critical posts about duke and you still stalk me.
  • reclegend22
We could probably debate the sincerity of the "Duke gets a pass" post -- in fact, immediately upon your posting it, the comment elicited a couple of "lol's" -- but I will take you for your word.
  • Heretic
That's good, because a B1G thread really doesn't need to be polluted by an argument about Duke in the Classy/Detroit style. So please, agree and move on.

Unfortunately, you can't debate "MY" sincerity. Just for you.... dealing with the death of a sibling is something that can take away the focus you have for your job. Not to mention the time he missed.

    That's a walk and a half.

Euro step, plus one step is a travel. It's a travel in college, NBA and Europe lol.

    Referee favoring Tom Izzo? Never.
