Alright phone nerds, I need assistance.

Scarlet_BuckeyeI'm going to be getting a company phone soon. I'm guessing I will have the option to pick my phone. My company uses Microsoft Outlook for email, and our electronic tools include Oracle's CRM On Demand and Oracle Content Management. My personal email account is Gmail. In a dream world, the iPhone 5 would be out and it would be 4G. I would nab this phone in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I do not believe the iPhone 5 will be released soon enough, and I bet I'm probably going to have to pick a phone sometime within the next month. So.... my question is...
What are the BEST smartphones [for the applications I have provided] that are out TODAY or have confirmed release dates within [roughly] a one-two month period?
Essentially, if you were in my situation, what phones would you be looking at, and if it were up to you, what phone would you go with? I've seen the Attrix and Evo names tossed around. I'm also seen the Thunderbolt name tossed around a bit too.
I'm greatly interested in 4G phones. -

Scarlet_BuckeyeSomeone explain to me the difference between these three phones, because all I ever hear "hardcore tech guys" tell me is there are some better phones out there than the iPhone in terms of technology, but looking at this chart comparison, the only difference I see is the iPhone isn't 4G. All else considered, they're virtually identical.

It really depends what ecosystem you want to live in. Apple or Google. All phones and operating systems have pros and cons. -
OneBuckeyeSony Xperia hits VZW tomorrow.

Also the LG revolution launches tomorrow.

I think the droid x2 will launch too. -
sherm03Droid X2 has been out since the 19th. It has been direct order for the past week, and will be in stores tomorrow.

IliketurtlesThe Samsung Charge looks pretty sweet sadly I've got 7 months till I can upgrade haha.

karen lotzStarting to consider getting the Charge now, but still wanting to hold out on Bionic.
-
sherm03Two downsides to the Charge...
1. Super AMOLED Plus screen looks great indoors...washes out like a bitch outdoors.
2. Single Core Processor -
karen lotzyou forgot...
3. Its not the Bionic. -
wes_mantoothI thought the bionic was dead and motorola has another duelcore coming out?

No. There have been some enhancements to the Bionic. Bloggers got a slight wind of it and reported that the Bionic was dead. They were incorrect in thinking that. The Bionic (although things have changed for the better) will still be released this summer at Verizon. -

So no one really answered my question.
It sounds like to me that the two best smartphones out on the market are the LG Revolution and the DROID Charge. And Based on the comparison chart above, I would give the edge to the Charge. Also, based on the chart above, I really see no difference between the Charge and the iPhone - just that the Charge is 4G and the iPhone isn't.
Someone else want to try to suggest why another phone (perhaps the Atrix and/or the Bionic) is better?! -

The charge has an almost inch bigger screen, hdmi capabilities, removable battery, and 8mp camera which combined with the super amoled plus screen looks amazing, also the ffc is 1.3 no which is higher than iPhone

I have things that are important to me that you may not think are as important. So I can tell you why I think the Atrix is or the Bionic will be better than those phones, but like OneBuckeye said...it all comes down to what you are going to use your phone for.
For me, there's two main important factors I look at when looking at phones: battery life, and processor speed.
The Charge, the Revolution, the iPhone, the Thunderbolt...they all use single core processors. The Atrix has, and the Bionic will have, dual-core 1ghz processors. While it may not seem like a big deal, the processor helps in gaming, and helps in web browsing. The biggest advantage to the dual core is that it helps conserve battery life.
Which leads me to my second point. The Charge currently has the best battery life of a 4G device at Verizon. But any 4G device is going to be an adjustment from a 3G device. The Atrix features a 1900mAh battery. What that means for the user: you do not have to keep a charger in your pocket to get you through a day. I do not use my Atrix very often, but I do browse the web on it and check and send emails throughout the day and I charge it every other day. That is almost unheard of from a smartphone not named Blackberry. The Bionic is said to have around the same battery in it.
So for me, the Atrix and Bionic will be better because you are not stuck with a processor that is already currently out of date. You would have more RAM built in. And better battery life. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeBiggest thing I want... I want my phone to be FAST!. I don't want to wait forever for my phone to load a page/app/download/etc.
I want long battery life (i.e., I would love for my next phone to last a full day of heavy usage - see usage examples below.
Facebook
Twitter
Gmail
web-browsing
text messaging
Netflix (streaming movies)
variety of apps (ala sports scores, weather updates, Poynt, Pandora, Flixster, etc)
ability to sync Google contacts with mobile contacts and vice-versa.
bluetooth capabilities (i.e., headset, sending/receiving files with a PC or other smartphone, sync with car, etc.) -

doesn't the droid x2 have a dual core? It should also be one of the faster phones on the market.sherm03;781650 wrote:I have things that are important to me that you may not think are as important.
