I'm assuming you've already figured out how to add widgets to the homescreen? (hold anywhere on the homescreen and it'll let you add stuff)
yeah but i don't have any widgets.
check that. i have mint.com widget now. -

Sony just went the other way with this.
This is the one thing holding me back from buying a Motorola Android device. Since VZW has changed their new every two contract and done away with one year agreements, I need a phone that will continue to update over a two year period. Most phone manufacturers DO NOT support and update their phones to newer versions of Android after a year of being on the market. I have a Droid Incredible that has been running Gingerbread for months now and it has been rock solid. Why? Because I run cyanogenmod as my ROM. -

LOL @ thinking Apple would tell you when they're going to unveil the iPhone 5. -

Understandable...but Moto actually has a great reputation of updating software for AT&T and Verizon. As far as the bootloader, it's been reported that only about 3-5% of customers want to be able to customize to that extent...so Moto won't slide into obscurity because of it. -

Didn't think they would, but it couldn't hurt to try. -

I had to go into Verizon to get my Blackberry fixed and he said he could just upgrade it since I'm due. I looked around to see it was just me and him and said "Yeah but my nerdy roommates think I should just wait until July for the iPhone 5, I'll probably go that route."
He looked around and just smiled and nodded with saying "I can't say that's not what I'd do."
Soooooo, yeah, it's coming in July. -

While thats a possibility that it may come out in July, I can guarantee.you that nobody who works in a store knows when the iPhone 5 will be released.Tobias Fünke;744620 wrote:I had to go into Verizon to get my Blackberry fixed and he said he could just upgrade it since I'm due. OneBuckeyehttp://www.bgr.com/2011/04/18/iphone-5-will-enter-production-in-september-analyst-claims/
Apple’s next-generation iPhone may launch even later than September this year, as has previously been rumored on numerous occasions. Apple has stuck to a summer launch for each new iPhone model released thus far, but the February introduction of Verizon Wireless’ iPhone 4 and the imminent release of the white iPhone 4 do suggest Apple may deviate from its previous schedule. Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo cited supply chain checks in a note to investors on Monday, in which he suggests Apple’s iPhone 5 won’t enter mass production until September. This would make a September release highly unlikely, and would instead mean the new smartphone might launch in October or later. Ming-Chi also reiterates earlier rumors that the iPhone 5 will be an incremental update, and will feature Apple’s new A5 processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a Qualcomm radio like the one found in Verizon Wireless’ iPhone 4. Industry watcher DigiTimes recently issued a report calling any iPhone 5 manufacturing timelines to this point “baseless,” claiming Apple has not yet discussed the device or any production timing with its manufacturing partners.

GasBuddy: Find "cheap" gas
Barcode Scanner: Scan barcodes
$Beautiful Widgets: Add widgets to your homescreen
*Go Launcher: Different launcher
*GO SMS: Different SMS app
Dolphin Browser: More feature heavy browser over the stock one
Dropbox: Handy for transferring files to your PC
$Seek Droid: Useful in case you lose your phone. Enables you to GPS locate it, remotely wipe it in the event you lose it.
Soundhound: ID songs off of the radio
$Tapatalk: As long as you aren't a douche like imex99 and know how to turn off the signature, it lets you browse the Chatter easily.
Wordfeud: Scrabble, similar to Words with Friends.
Yelp: Find various things to do in your area
* indicates preference. there's many alternative launchers/SMS utilities
$ costs money
How is Go SMS compared to Handcent? I use Handcent. -

Mint widget is great. Use it religiously. -

I've used them both. I prefer Go SMS because they tend to update it a helluva lot more frequently. -

Yeah, because some peon making $9.00/hr knows there's a new iPhone coming out. -

hopefully they will use that time to cram 1 gb of RAM in it. -
karen lotzNo doubt it will be worth it. Just hoping it is released before tiered data plans start so I'm grandfathered in.

That was what most of the nerds where saying on the site I saw this on. -

Motorola to have a new bootloader policy come late 2011: http://www.androidcentral.com/motorola-have-new-bootloader-policy-come-late-2011Jawbreaker;743659 wrote:Can you please tell your company to unlock the bootloader ( I.e. the xoom). I then might purchase a Motorola phone. Thanks. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeI'll never purchase another Motorola phone ever again after that POS they put out called the RAZR. Worst. Phone. Ever.
-
karen lotzLOL really? That was a 10 years ago.

Worst? Nahh. Far from it. Ever heard of the UT Starcom CDM-105? How about the Sanyo SCP-200? Those could possibly claim the title of worst. phone. ever. Sure there were a lot of people that had issues with the RAZR. But that's what happens when you sell 130 million of them. I would guess that since there are still people that come into every different carrier and say they want to upgrade their phone TO a RAZR that it can't be considered the worst. phone. ever.
If you are holding a phone from 2005 against a company, you are going to miss out on some of the best smartphones to hit the market. But, to each his own...I guess. -
OneBuckeyeVerizon coming out with heavy hitters soon. Samsung Charge on May 14th (I think the article has a typo.) http://www.bgr.com/2011/05/13/verizons-samsung-droid-charge-to-launch-may-13th/
Droid X2 may be coming out may 26th. Sweet specs are also confirmed in the article. http://www.bgr.com/2011/05/13/motorola-droid-x2-could-launch-may-26th/
