i like it so far. actually planning on getting the HDMI cable soon.OneBuckeye;905608 wrote:Bionic owners, what say you after a couple weeks of useage?
-battery lasts as long as it did for my original droid.
-a lot more options on some of the settings.
-few minor things like when the phone is in the dock, the home button does nothing. the old droid, the home button would return it to the dock screen.
-the other day something messed up on the SD card and it wouldnt recognize any apps that were on the SD card. just had to reboot and things were fine.
-the email program likes to group emails from the same sender. kinda gets annoying because the email conversations dont flow. cant find a way to fix that.
-not a fan of the touch screen camera, liked the dedicated button to snap pictures. liking the HD quality pics though.
enough gripes for now i think haha. -

Uhh..none? Android phones aren't blackberry's and don't need rebooted. Android will unpage things from RAM if available RAM gets low.
As a result, apps like Advanced Task Killer and reboot utilities are worthless -

good to know, thank you. -

truth, but it is amazing how many verizon store employees install ATK on peoples phones for them. Although, I am not surprised since every verizon rep around where i live know absolutely nothing about the products they are selling...they are just told what to push...like a god damn waitress.dlazz;906245 wrote:Uhh..none? Glory Daysuhhh my Bionic just shut off and wont turn back on. this is great.
-
Glory Daysdisregard, the power cable for the dock is a piece of junk.
-
karen lotzso the battery just died? which dock do you have?
-
Glory Daysyeah i went to bed with it in the dock. woke up and it wouldnt turn on. plugged it into my computer via USB, still wouldnt turn on. finally plugged it directly into the wall and got a little bit of juice to figure it out.
got the dock they have at verizon. the dock itself seems fine and it had been working since i got the phone when it came out. but today i moved it across the room. the problem was the cable that plugs into the wall. i had to like plug it half way into the outlet for it to get power. too far or not enough in and it wouldnt charge. i guess it fell out a little bit while i was sleeping and stopped charging. the two prongs swivel so i think thats part of the problem. -

Interesting. I'll include this in my report for this week.Glory Days;907342 wrote:yeah i went to bed with it in the dock. woke up and it wouldnt turn on. plugged it into my computer via USB, still wouldnt turn on. finally plugged it directly into the wall and got a little bit of juice to figure it out.

i noticed it the first day i got it. but the second or third time i plugged in, it stuck and didnt have an issue until now when i moved it.sherm03;907543 wrote:Interesting. I'll include this in my report for this week. -
Glory DaysIs there a way to drag and drop files onto the bionic when connected to my computer? not only that, only 2 pictures i have taken show up on the DCIM folder when its connected, there should be more. cant seem to figure this out.
-
karen lotzWhen you connect it via USB cable, if you pull down the notification bar on the phone, it gives you options as to how you want it to connect. Select mass storage and it should show up as a removable drive under my computer. You should be able to drag and drop files there. Not sure on the DCIM folder.
-
karen lotzWhere do the pictures you take get saved to? If you open the camera and go into settings, you can have them stored to either Internal Phone storage or to the SD card. I have mine set up for SD card and I think I can see all of my pics when its connected.
-
Glory Days
yeah i figured that out. after taking a few pics when i got the phone, i later switched where it stores stuff. but now when i connect to my computer, only the internal phone storage is available, not the SD card. the SD card isnt recognized.karen lotz;917266 wrote:Where do the pictures you take get saved to? i also didnt think anything of it because yesterday i plugged it into my tv and was able to view all of my pictures. not sure the difference. -
Glory Daysfigured it out. gotta change the USB option to Windows Media Sync.

does that let you drag and drop also? I haven't really done much with that. -
Glory Days
yeah, i think its actually the way you are supposed to do it. the only thing you can access with "USB mass storage" is the DCIM folder (pictures). I was just used to my old droid and how it worked.karen lotz;917329 wrote:does that let you drag and drop also? I haven't really done much with that. -
dlazzI just set up a Dropbox account if I need files from my phone. Requires very little work and no wires.
-
Glory Days
you can also do it with Zumocast...however when i did it, the songs i downloaded to the phone lost their properties and only song titles. so all the artists and albums were messed up.dlazz;917344 wrote:I just set up a Dropbox account if I need files from my phone. Zumocast probably strips the metadata out of the file whereas Dropbox would leave the data as-is. -
Glory Daysnot a fan of Zumocast anyways. you can listen to the music streamed from your computer, but you cant shuffle or anything. so you are stuck listening to the same songs in order unless you manually change them.

You may want to look into Audiogalaxy. http://www.audiogalaxy.com/ Glory Days;917384 wrote:not a fan of Zumocast anyways. you can listen to the music streamed from your computer, but you cant shuffle or anything. so you are stuck listening to the same songs in order unless you manually change them. -

i'll probably never stream music on a regular basis due to feeling it would drain the battery much much faster than playing it from the phone.dlazz;917411 wrote:You may want to look into Audiogalaxy. http://www.audiogalaxy.com/
