Alright phone nerds, I need assistance.

gorocks99I ended up going with a Droid Charge in July and don't regret it. Flashed it to upgrade to de-bloated Gingerbread (from Froyo) and it runs pretty well. 4G is great in the city.

Truth. But I could also lose my job. So I'll sit tight with my lack of internet rep...as long as I get to keep collecting a pay check. lolGlory Days;877672 wrote:you'd get mad internet rep if you could confirm....just saying.... -

Damn 199.99 good priceWe are here at Samsung’s press event in New York City where the phone maker just took the wraps off of Sprint’s brand new GALAXY S II smartphone. The GALAXY S II Epic 4G Touch offers full support for Sprint’s 4G WiMAX network and is equipped with 16GB of storage, a large Super AMOLED Plus display, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats, and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. We really like the textured back of the phone, which gives it a good grip, but the plastic build still feels just a bit cheap to us. We really wish Samsung would adopt stronger materials in its flagship devices, such as metals and soft-touch rubberized plastic. Still, the phone easily zips through Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface. Sprint will be the first to launch the GALAXY S II Epic 4G Touch on September 16th and it’s priced at $199.99 with a new two-year contract.

I don't think Sprint can afford to offer phones for anything over $199 at this point. With the credit policies they have, most of their customers would not pay $250 or $299 for a phone.OneBuckeye;878177 wrote:Damn 199.99 good price

I think you'll see most of the phones at Sprint hitting at $199. -

Huh? What's not to get? It is part of Verizon's marketing for the Bionic and other Droid phones. The Bionic was just added today.Scarlet_Buckeye;878399 wrote:I don't get it. -

Yeah... but what is it? I get that it's marketing... but it wanted you to enter in something. Enter in what?karen lotz;878446 wrote:Huh? What's not to get? It is part of Verizon's marketing for the Bionic and other Droid phones. The Bionic was just added today. -
karen lotzah they have access codes that are released. You enter those codes in and something about the phone is revealed. They also released a scavenger hunt app today where people will have to follow clues and then the first person to the spot finds a free Bionic. If you look on that site for the Charge, one of them was hidden inside Skully's in Columbus.

Scarlet_BuckeyeMan... this just goes to show how much hype there is surrounding the iPhone 5 release. People are nit-picking an ICON for the damn thing -->

Agree, I just want to see reviews and pricing and some hands on time in the store to see if I want to purchase. However motorloa and verizon have done well with these marketing campaigns so you can't blame them for doing it.Glory Days;880055 wrote:ok that video actually makes me NOT want to buy it. what the hell was that? i hate that shit. just show me what the phone can do. -

I still don't have the green light to confirm or deny. But if you want to be one of the first people to get it, you might want to tell your boss you'll be late on the 8th.OneBuckeye;880038 wrote:So anyone see the bionic commercial during the Wisconsin game last night? I agree 100%. Apple does a hell of a job doing this with their commercials. Which is probably why nobody else does it. I love that Apple just shows the iPhone, and then someone touching the screen basically walking you through what the phone can do.Glory Days;880055 wrote:ok that video actually makes me NOT want to buy it. what the hell was that? i hate that shit. just show me what the phone can do.
But in Motorola/Verizon's defense...that's a teaser ad. So you're not going to see the phone at all until it launches or right before. -
IliketurtlesWhat made that worse was it still had bits of George Lopez in there. Fucking terrible! I really did not like the commercial I mean at least show the phone.
