Disgusted with Trump administration - Part I

I see it somewhat differently. I see it as his ego has already been justified by defeating everybody who laughed at his running. By Obama making that snarky comment on some late night talk show reading Trump's twitter "At least I am President!" and then dropping the phone.ptown_trojans_1;1884217 wrote:His ego is too big for him to step aside. He will ride or die in 2020.
Remember that?
So, his ego has been effectively massaged, satisfied and etched in stone. I think that will be enough for him to step down in 3 years... with a huge smirk on his face that everybody will want to wipe off lol -

I suppose technically Flynn might have been guilty of obstruction for lying (and he was not charged with obstruction, so we might assume the lies did not rise nearly to that level), but that's completely separate from Trump obstructing much less colluding.KnightRyder;1884224 wrote:but its not far from obstruction and its a russia story
It's not THE Russia story. What Flynn actually violated was the Hatch Act, and it has been rarely used since it's creation in 1939 (there may have been 1 successful prosecution). Mind you, approximately 1 month later after confirmation Flynn would not be in violation but merely doing his job. So he lied about it - that's a process crime. -
CenterBHSFanI just hope that the lefties in DC understand fully how they have essentially opened up a whole can of worms. Indeed, they have already started seeing the can being opened on other issues. This whole thing only signifies that any slightest wrongdoing of anybody in DC can be blown up to the size of a mountain, where a single grain of sand exists. Because at some point, the righties in DC are going to turn merciless and everybody's name will be headlined on TMZ.

Ehhh, maybe. He violated the Hatch Act, so he lied hoping for a better outcome. And I think there are degrees of severity for lying to the FBI....depends on what your definition of "is" is :RpS_w00t:ptown_trojans_1;1884223 wrote:I'm not so sure. If this isn't a big deal, you don't lie to the FBI about it.
My suspicion is the plea deal is more about Turkey. Mueller probably said, "no, we won't charge you for Turkey but it has to be something more substantial than the Hatch Act".
Also, not so sure that charging someone with false statements is the best optic for someone you're hoping to flip as a witness - "you lied to try to save your butt once, why should we believe you are telling the truth now?" -
like_thatApparently he’s going to testify that Trump told him to contact Russians.

I saw that, but will reserve judgement until two things are confirmed:like_that;1884238 wrote:Apparently he’s going to testify that Trump told him to contact Russians.
1) That story is actually true (I don't trust anything on this any more aside from official statements by the DOJ or in testimony to Congress)
2) This occurred during the campaign and NOT only during the transition...the latter is hardly an impeachable offense, and IMO pretty common/normal with respect to transition teams. If during the campaign, then it's going to fuel the collusion cries....but, again, it's not uncommon for Presidential candidates to meet informally with global leaders (although that may mostly be allies and not China or Russia).
But a plea deal would indicate he has something valuable as a witness to Mueller. I'm not sure something related purely to the transition would cut it, unless it implicated Trump in a process crime of his own. Or, possibly more likely, Trump was directing Flynn to say certain things, which would be another process crime (but, in that case, obstruction). -
QuakerOatsKushner told him to contact all UN security members to try and get them to delay some vote of condemnation regarding Israel, so yeah, Russia is one of them. Obviously a Trump admin would never vote to condemn Israel, while obama might. What a completely meaningless set of circumstances. But it is fun watching the left-wing major media fall all over themselves. russia, russia, russia, russia...........LOL

It would be funny if the only thing drained from the swamp ends-up being the Trump Administration.QuakerOats;1884254 wrote:But it is fun watching the left-wing major media fall all over themselves. russia, russia, russia, russia...........LOL -
QuakerOatsThat would be tragic; the swamp would win again and be forever untouchable, until the next revolution.

Oh no. Precedent has been set, now. Somebody else will come along looking to be America's Hero. Somebody looking to make everything topsy-turvy again and again.QuakerOats;1884261 wrote:the swamp would win again and be forever untouchable -
