He's the same POS that claims he moved to Nashville because of OSU's fans. It was one OSU fan.  It was the cop whose wife he was banging.

Wait, what??

^^^^ in reference to your post, I'm sure that this has been mentioned previously but it just blows my mind with the Buckeyes success that the last coach to win Big 10 Coach of the Year from OSU was Earle Bruce in 1979. How can this be?

This is why this process sucks. You got a bunch of dudes just subjectively saying who’s best. The system is flawed. How the HELL do you not have an 8 team playoff system? Danny Kanell tweeted his idea. It’s genius and makes so much more money for the ncaa. Why are we still asking old dudes to choose the best 4 teams between 5-7 teams every year?

What was his idea?

I have always said just use the BCS formula to come up with the 6-8 best teams.  If you can't crack the top 8, you have no real reason to cry.

He'd be dumb not to. 2019 QB crop is weak.  Herbert from Oregon and Haskins are likely the top two QB's coming out.

This. He will be a top 15 pick this year even if Herbert comes out. Who knows what could happen in a year, and with a much better class of qbs coming out.

He tweeted it. 8 teams in, first games are home games for the higher seeds.

This is exactly how it should be. Top 4 teams get home games.

True, although injury would be a far greater concern to me than increased competition. As good as he has been, another year of college ball would do him a world of good as a player. He just probably can't afford the risk.

As fans, I think we should be thankful that he said he'd be playing in the bowl game. A lot of these guys, knowing that they are going pro, pass on the bowl to avoid injury and to get ready for the Combine.

Can't blame them though some do. I wonder what the decision would have been had they lost Saturday and been headed to the Poulan Bowl or whatever.

Did he say that after they found out they weren't in the top four?

I heard this on the radio on my drive in. From what the guy said on the radio, it sounded like he planned on playing in the Rose Bowl.

No, I wish he would skip the bowl.  All the guys on schollie should skip and let the walk-ons play.  The bowls are stupid and meaningless and should be exposed as such.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Martell could do for an entire game myself--after all, he'll more than likely be our starter next season, so let's see what he's got against a pretty damn good defense.

I wouldn’t personally play in his situation, but I understand why guys do. Chance to win the Rose Bowl is something you have forever. That’s special and worth more than any money.

BUT, he could be the #1 overall pick, and is seriously jeapordizing his future and his kids, etc by playing. Ideally you get both, and more than likely he gets both. But there are enough situations that would make me pause and say I’ll take the money over the memories.

To fans maybe. Who knows how the players who play feel. The history of the game still has significance

All the other bowls? For sure.

The Rose Bowl? No. It’s still the Grandaddy of them All.

All bowls including the rose bowl have been diminished forever, unless they double as one of the play-off bowls.

i think the introduction of the playoff was definitely the final blow, but the decline of importance/significance of bowls was the introduction of additional bowl games.

they used to be a privilege/acknowledgement of a "good season" by quality teams.

now you have teams like 6-6 tulane playing 7-6 louisiana lafayette in the who gives a damn bowl
