Well here we go and have at it.

I was one who took the bait last year. And I think that season after season of disappointment helped make it a little more bearable.  But, like BR has posted, how much can one take?

Go Browns.

Last year they were all the talk and underachieved while the Ravens destroyed most everyone and Steelers were competitive more often than guessed. Don’t know who the 4th team in the division was.

This year the Ravens will be getting the pub, Bengals will have actual reporters for them this year as Burrowmania hits. Big Ben will get some skeptical talk. Might be a good opportunity for the Browns to make some noise.

The sad part, for Browns fans, is that going into 2019, Baker Mayfield was the darling of the division. Depending on if Roethlisberger bounces back, he'll (Mayfield) likely be the 4th best QB in the division.

As far as the press conference yesterday, Littlefinger said he wasn't going to be the guy picking the players but then basically said he'd have the final decision so we have that to look forward to.

Stefanski seems to give the impression that Mayfield is going to thrive under him. Let's just hope he garners the respect as a rookie HC.

I am not real sold on the sustainability of the Ratbirds offense.

Steelers and Bengals will be better.   Pitt MIGHT be able to contend.   If Clev has a competent staff and shore up a few things in FA and the draft then there is no reason why they cannot battle the Ratbirds.  Ya have two top WR, a great RB, a QB who showed promise in his rookie year but I think believed his own hype who can drastically improve if he takes care of his own business.

Their chances on the playoffs for next  year I think is 58/42.   It may just come down to something as stupid is if their opponents are on a hot or cold streak when they face the browns.

You're assuming all of the guys on offense will be back. Littlefinger loves him some draft picks so I could see any one of OBJ, Jarvis, Chubb or Hunt moved in trades.

I think Mayfield will be fine if they trend him more toward game manager than gunslinger. I get the impression that Stefanski will use him (like Cousins) under center more, utilizing play action, in more 12 personnel packages. If you look at the analytics (cough, cough) the Browns had the most success last year running out of 2 TE sets.

To me, the thing about Baltimore's offense (Captain Obvious) is Jackson's threat to run. Not only does this open up the passing game (respect the run) but what a lot of people don't take into account is that the DB's get gassed chasing him around, which gives the receivers an edge. What I found peculiar was the the Chargers pretty much put the book out on how to defend him in the 2018 playoffs sometimes using 7-8 DB's on defense that were fast enough to shadow him. I didn't see any teams try to do that this year.

No chance they are trading Chubb. And I think Hunt is a restrcited free agent. Could see one of the wr though.

I think they will dangle OBJ out there.  They paid a big price for him but he appears to be more drama than production.   No way ya are trading Chubb.

Go Browns. 9-7 next season, playing for a berth in Week 17.

I don't think they "dangle" OBJ at all. I'll be very surprised if he's on their opening day roster. If they can get a good RG or T for him, I do it straight up. If TB12 needs a weapon, I trade Beckham straight up for Joe Thuney (guard) but I doubt the Hoodie would do that and Thuney is set to be a FA.

When I say dangle I mean that they will put him out there for a trade and won't be around next year.

Does Odell have CTE also or is he just two years behind AB? He’s a smaller mess but he’s a mess. He needs Michael Thomas numbers to be worth his nuisance and selfishness.

Seems that OBJ made LSU's short list of "Idiots who get the sideline/locker room Pass".

Yep, like he's pushing to get traded.

I would kill for the Browns to have a team like the 49er's....shutdown defense and bore them to death with the run (QB throwing <15x's per game).

Real nice hire. I'm starting to feel like Darby on this thread....Hellooooooo?

Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero

The are expected to hire Bill Callahan to coach their offensive line, sources say. Important addition of a former head coach for Kevin Stefanski’s staff.

@damienwoody on @BullandFox: “ai can’t even imagine what Nick Chubb will be able to do next year. I think Browns fans should be ecstatic that they got Bill Callahan on the staff. He’s gonna whip this offensive line into a unit the dawg pound will be happy about.”
