Has to pan out on the field but I like what they're doing, filling immediate needs with 1 year deals that won't kill the cap going forward.

This all sounds positive and encouraging, but I’m hesitant because of how I got burned with last year’s hype.

I have to tell myself that it’s a good thing.

Make that 10th pick a LT or Simmons and we are on our way!

I really like what berry has done so far. Seen the major weaknesses and addressed them right away. Im also liking those 1 year deals, keeping cap flexibility while also allowing yourself to develop later round guys that will be drafted this year hoping they will develop into starters

Exactly and they just added another safety, Andrew Sendejo, from Minnesota, on a 1 year deal.

Oh, believe me, I predicted 11-5 last year and this year I'm between 5-11 and 8-8 as it stands. Don't have a lot of confidence in these guys. The defense will likely blow and they will have to win Arena League shootouts.

For my Browns friends

Metcalf was a boss on returns. Hearing this JoJo Natson will be the closest thing Browns fans have seen (as a returner) since Metcalf & Cribbs. We'll see.

Metcalf was my favorite player as a kid.

As a steelers fan...i hated him!!!!! But he was electric.

My dad and brothers hated how the "Metcalf up the middle' running plays they loved to run!

At this point, not sure what he has left but could be a decent rotational guy. Had 4 sacks last year...

Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero

The are signing veteran DE Adrian Clayborn to a two-year, $6 million deal that can be worth up to $7M with incentives, source said.

I like this, too.

I can’t remember this many signings in any off season.

That's why I like most of these signings. Will they pan out on the field? Who knows but most of them are 1 year deals and they plug in areas of need or depth. If the guy doesn't pan out, you move on and don't cripple yourself in locking up guys like Garrett long-term.

I'm not completely sure of when you can extend a player off his rookie contract but, if possible, I'd extend Chubb for 2 more years right NOW. Teams usually get about 5 peak years out of a bell cow RB before they show the wear or want a big payday. Lock Chubb up for 5 years (total, on a modest, but cheaper contract) and see where he's at after that.

I'll also say I'm surprised at these guys in FA. Berry & Stefanski seem to be in lock step and the analytics of the Sashi Era hasn't reared it's ugly head. That may change come draft time if they trade down from #10 three or four times.

Well now, this is interesting... Per CBS Sports it sounds like Browns are in the mix to land Clowney. Be surprised if it happens.

Sounds like the Browns still have interest in Clowney but a big part of the hold up is that he's coming off a core injury and they can't get him in for a physical.

They have money to blow dont they?

Dont really see a downfall here.

With bookends of MG and Clowney and you have a very formidable front line.

I still think the Ravens take a big step back this year.  STeelers will depend on BR and I feel the bengals can make a big improvement but not enough to contend for the North.

Still have $43.3 million left, from what I've heard.

I think Baltimore will fall back to 10-11 wins. Pittsburgh, on their defense alone (depending on Roethlisberger) should be 9-7. Cincy will improve and seem serious about winning with their offseason and the Browns could be anywhere between 5-11 and 8-8.

This pandemic will put the Browns behind the 8 ball because the new coach/system won't be able to connect. If Cincy were smart, they would keep Dalton (assuming they draft Burrow) because JB will be way behind coming into a new systems as a rookie.

Id say F it and go for it.  It isnt like the salary cap money rolls over until the next year.

Or he could be playing the browns for a franchise that can win  now. The browns are likely 2-3 yrs from SB contention.

TBH, I think Clowney wants to return to the Sea Chickens but they gave him a pretty lowball offer, considering what he's looking for. I'd say he's likely playing them.

His value against the run is ridiculous. I think Seattle gave up an average of 99 yards vs the run when he played, 170 when he didn't
