Oh yeah, the last minute scorecard turn in or the super late group is always a dead giveaway.

This year for us it wasn’t a shotgun start and we were like the 7th out of 26 groups to finish. And the group bitching was 2nd to last to finish. So if anything, their score was probably fake haha

not that that course is super hard.... but you'd need 4 pga tour players to birdie and eagle every hole.

Going off the BS golf shit, I was playing with 3 coworkers a few weeks ago. 2v2 best ball.

Dude On the other team hit his 2nd shot in the front side green bunker (or at least he said he did), and when he got up to the bunker the ball wasn’t there. We looked for 5 min, scraping up the banker thinking maybe it got buried, didn’t find it. He said he is going to take a free drop right in front of the bunker since “that wasn’t an OB shot, he just couldn’t find it” we were like well yeah but the definition of taking a drop is you can’t find your ball, Lol.

He was holding pretty firm and we ended up just saying whatever and hopefully we don’t lose by 1 (because his chip was within a foot and they won the hole with a par)...well what do you know we lost by 1, and had to Venmo that guy $50.

Sucked

If you’re playing for money, there are no free drops. Unless it’s actually a situation where it’s warranted, ie cart path.

He should have dropped from where he previously played, hitting 4.

Yeah, it actually made me pretty mad and I’m a pretty even keel guy IRL.

I mean I kind of understand what he’s saying, if I hit my ball and I know exactly where it landed and I go to that spot and I can’t find it and it’s not like there’s water or anything around there, I’m pretty mad. And if I’m just playing for fun, I probably wouldn’t take a drop. But the fact that it was $50 a man, that should mean you should play by a stricter process with drops.

He didn’t even ask too. Just was like “fuck this I’m not taking a drop the ball was right fucking here” and when we said “ehhhhh...” he got pretty mad so we just said fuck it.

Just really sucked that we ended up losing by 1 haha

We play gallery rules, but in that instance, you drop IN the bunker.

Gallery rules is a shot that is clearly in-bounds, but maybe in some thick rough and you can't find it -- but with a gallery, they watch it roll and surround it. Everyone has a decent idea of where it ended up...you take a free drop at that spot.

Maybe I’m mis-remembering and he dropped in the bunker. I really can’t remember other than he made a good chip and putt for par and we bogeyed, so he won the hole. We were not happy

Regardless, it seems fishy. He saw it go in that bunker (who looses a ball in the sand anyway?), but nobody else saw the shot, then I tend to believe he was full of it and that ball was OB or in the woods or something lol

EDIT: We will also in a situation like that tell the person to take the score he personally wants, but you cant win the hole (unless obviously partner does)

Yeah his partner said it went in the bunker, and I know his partner well and don’t think he’d cheat. I actually fully believe him, but the ball prob got carried away by a critter or something, and that still means he takes a stroke lol

Shot a 43 at league tonight. I parred both par 3s, but I can’t tell you the last time I had a GIR on a par 4. It’s been months. And it’s killing me.

81 at the Quarry today. Easily could have been 77 or better.

Have you played Tannenhauf or Skyland Pines recently?

My mom and brother played Tannenhauf Thursday and they said it was in really good shape.

I think I'm going to buy a pushcart this weekend as they are back in stock online. Anyone have a model they'd recommend? I'm leaning towards the Sun Mountain Speed Cart GX as I have a Sun Mountain bag that I really like.

Stewart x9 follow.  If you’re rich.

Mf’er follows you around the course

I have a The Golf Warehouse 4 wheel one. They’re made by Caddy Tek, who makes good stuff. The TGW branded ones are much cheaper in price and the same quality.

101 today at Oak Harbor Golf Club. Course was in absolutely brutal shape. But I can’t excuse my equally as brutal play inside 100 yards today. Yips bad.

Ended the day on a Par 4 that I drove to about 65-70 yards from the green and I bogeyed it. Terrible.

Driver was on today. But wedge play and chipping was laughable.

Shot another 50. I cannot hit a GIR on a non-par 3.

88 the other day. My previous best was a 96. Amazing what can happen when you improve your short game and eliminate the 3 putts (and sometimes 4 lol). Kept my drives mostly straight too - that certainly helps.

The most difficult thing when golfing alone has got to be when you hit a shot and know that it stayed inbounds and you should be able to track it down, and you cannot find it - super frustrating.
