Get my vaccine Monday. I'll report any side effects but expect none.

Lol I don’t count that

It’s only been about 4 days but no effects so far from the 400+ who received the vaccine at the nursing homes my daughter and the CVS team administered.

My wife is getting hers on Monday as well.  She is the activities director at an assisted living facility.  They lost at least 10 residents in her building this fall.  She volunteered to work 7 days a week to help fill staff shortages in other departments.  In the 28 yrs I have been married she never worked Thanksgiving and Christmas.

First of the year she goes back to five days.  Then slowly transitions back into planning the residents activities and entertainment.  They are going nuts and getting depressed.  Hopefully by spring maybe she can start scheduling inside entertainment.

Dad and stepmom had it in early October.....both say they only taste about 50% of food still.

It is utterly terrible.  Funny is that I can taste my toothpaste and Chipotle red pepper flake.

So it looks like we are getting $600 for our inconvenience over the past year.  Hey thanks DC.

Edit: nvm just got the notification he signed it.

Those that lost smell/taste to Covid....was it instant or gradual?

I lost mine.  Instant.  Gone for weeks.

I called this (not sure on this site), but I can already tell the UK strain is being used as an excuse to extend restrictions and lockdowns.  The playbook is so obvious it hurts.

Yes.....just another reason to make more money for certain people and control the others

What’s the main reason for doing that?

My wife lost both over about a day gradually. She had neither for about a week then they came back slowly over about another 10-14 days.

Saw where the media was reporting that the current vaccines would cover the variant.  That is it,  the “new” Covid strain that just happened to be found when the vaccine came out.  Just trying to get more $ from more people taking vaccine

Sa this online:

About 60% of nursing home staff have so far elected not to take the vaccine, DeWine said.

"We aren’t going to make them but we wish they had a higher compliance," he said. "Our message today is the train may not be coming back for a while.”

Neighbor of mine growing up and guy I used to go to the gym with  killed himself in his car last night. I only put this here bc people have mentioned the mental health toll the pandemic takes. He was always a little off but nice person nonetheless. Super into working out and body building. Not sure I expected him to kill himself as much effort as he put into himself but I know mental health doesn’t care about your hobbies.

How sad.  And on New Year’s Eve.

To back you up, Kizer, my neurologist told me that the most stunning thing he has seen lately is that many survivors of the Covid are going “mad”.  It’s a very serious situation.

Going "mad" as in how? Medicine side effects, the disease having some sort of strange effect on peoples' brains or something else?
