I was exposed. I was only around him a short time on Friday and then was around people who worked with him today before we found out he was positive. Will be staying away from everyone for the next week probably

How are you going to prove you were vaccinated?  I've seen "vaccination passports" thrown around fairly often, but I haven't seen any plan on how that would work.

The guys in college who were good at making fake ID's/licenses could be looking at a bonanza.

The present species of humankind has the worst metabolic health in history since Lucy the hominid first ate a piece of protein and evolved from the chimps, so keep eating your shit diet of fast food and consuming your diet sodas, and wonder why this virus will do harm worse than the previous viruses

This society is sad, enforcing tyranny on those who actually care for themselves

Thank you for the offer, but I would not want to get you in trouble with a prohibited action

Like_that, what’s the status on a vaccine in Italy? Are people conflicted on getting it there like here?

More/less the same as the US.  The bigger issue is getting approved and distributed.  The EU is full of bueacratic bullshit, and then Italy is another layer of the bullshit.  Italy hasn't even been able to get enough flu vaccines distributed.

For those making fun of “anti-maskers” as being “dumb and anti-science” I found this study done by the CDC and published back in May rather interesting.

The key part for those that don’t want to read a scientific study is quoted here

In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25).

Subsequent studies show the opposite, which of course is not unusual. How does one decide which "side" to believe when the supposed experts disagree?

You posted a study about the flu. Most people are arguing masks for Covid.

Yeah, one is a virus and the other is something else

So a study that pooled all studies from 1946 to 2018 is wrong but a study from 2020 is right? That’s rather anti-science.

You do realize both are viruses, both are similar viruses, and both are transmitted the same way right?

It’s not like I posted a study on the transmission of the flu virus and said masks might not work for bacterial transmission/infection.

Flu and COVID are, for the most part, transmitted the same way. So the study was relevant.

On top of what I said above, flu and COVID are the same type of virus (that sphere with the suction cup things around it) and they are both around 100nm in size (submicroscopic, can’t see it with regular microscope like a single cell).

So yes, the study is relevant to COVID.

Actually it isn't. New science in general should be more accurate than older science.

If they are the same type of virus, then how did COVID virtually eliminate the flu?

Flu season isnt even here yet.

Do you even know why we have a flu season?  The temps and air quality arent there yet for flu.  Too warm and wet in most of the country.

Plus, it was a statistical study not some new theoretical physics. Statistics hasn’t really changed in 2 years, I promise.
