What are the chances the parents weren't going to find out anyhow? They had to have known this was going to be leaked publicly by someone. And now, what are the chances this isn't going to piss the parents off?

The fact that you don’t understand the issue here is why you’re nowhere near a “moderate”. That kid is going to be fucked up for life. You don’t just pretend a girl is a boy for the fun of it, it’s psychological issues. The parents should be made aware.

You don't know that or know the reason the student is transitioning. You do not know the family dynamic at all. You are just assuming at lot.

Yeah, true and they may or may not be supportive, we don't know.

I know a lot of you who are left on here don’t have kids. But the race stuff at school was just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve said it before but the gender stuff is much worse.

Meanwhile, reading/writing/arithmetic/history scores continue to plummet.

'Public education' needs to be completely dismantled.

That could be the student's decision as the parents may not fully support them changing genders. It is like coming out of the closet in a sense. We don't know all the family dynamics.

You obviously dont have kids

Now, why would should everyone and every parent be informed when one student makes the change in gender?

Shouldn't we respect the privacy of that student and not air out their decision for all to comment and share?

The issue almost every time is that "privacy" is never part of it.  They push their virtue signaling on everyone else and all must comply to their pronouns and if you dont......punished.

The parents are legal guardians - the school has a DUTY to inform them.  You questioning the "family dynamics" is irrelevant.  It's a separate matter, potentially.  If there's an issue there, it's for social services to handle.  It's not a call for the school to make.

This isn't hard if you actually try to think like a moderate, instead of reflexively defending misguided progressive agendas.

This is the biggest issue. Teachers are pushing this gender bullshit on innocent children that don’t know any better. Scroll through libs of tik tok, it’s a lot of their videos. Luckily, a some get fired after being posted.

That's fair actually. I'm in the don't assume anything kind of camp. All we see is this posting on social media when we don't have a lot information.

Is that the case in this particular case or are you assuming your own views in it?

Not bullshit man, but man you really don't like it do you? Do transgender people really offend you that much? Are you that uncomfortable with yourself to not even consider it? Have an open mind?

Did you feel or do you feel this way about homosexuals as well?

42% of LGBT students considered suicide in the last year with the rate for transsexual students even higher. If the school knew and didn’t tell me I would be pissed because I wouldn’t know to seek out therapy for my child. If the therapist determines my child is fine and doesn’t need counseling then so be it but I want to give them that opportunity as soon as possible.

Agreed.  It is parents' right to know.  It is not a school's right to determine whether a parent should know.

It “offends” me to indoctrinate children with woke trash. But nah, I’m good with not being open minded about people being Trans. You can be what you wanna be, but I don’t have to pretend it’s normal.

We had a gay teacher in high school, guess what, he never once talked about it. And that was older kids, some of these idiots are talking make believe genders with elementary school kids. I didn’t even know what political party most of my teachers were, and that’s how it should be.

Yeah, parents should know as I said good point that was raised.

It is completely different to inform everyone about 1 student in my view.

Congratulations on once again being on the wrong side of a moral issue and proving you aren’t really a “centrist”.

Good to know you have such a narrow view of things. How sad and sheltered.

You need a good night out in some Trans or gay bars my friend. Or, would that make you feel too uncomfortable, make you question your own self?

Maybe, your teacher didn't talk about because he knew you wouldn't say he was normal and would act like you are now? Just a thought.

Probly not bc he was our favorite teacher. Not believing Trans is normal is far from a sheltered view of things. You don’t have to accept everything. I have no problem with the gays, they’re in no way close to the gender thing (even had a gay friend, woah!). The LBG’s should have never included the T’s.

Regardless of all of that, shit shouldn’t be pushed on kids at school, that was the main point of the story. And no one wanted other parents to know, that’s your misunderstanding, it was the parents that should know.  A 7th grader shouldn’t be questioning their gender, they shouldn’t even know about what transitioning or being a different gender is.

Not accepting, but at the very least understanding, which you seem do not want to even do. Just saying nope, not normal is a closed off way to think of it.

Normal changes. Gay wasn't normal 10-15 years ago and is considered normal now by most of the country.

You also are assuming the worst with the school, that they are trying to push an agenda, when we don't know that for sure. Maybe they are, maybe not. We don't know.

If you think a 7th grader isn't ready or thinking about that or anything else going on with their body,  wow you are sheltered.

Its a fact that the suicide rates are insanely high for teens that are questioning their gender, its north of 50%. So saying that as a parent, he wants to KNOW if their kid is expressing these statements and get them to a therapist/psychiatrist to make sure everything is "ok" is the DEFINITION of a good parent.

You calling him transphobic for having these beliefs once again shows you are no where near a moderate like you claim to be. You keep proving us all right. Being a moderate in San Fran or DC is still a left wing liberal.
