Not "kicking the can" doesn't not need to include separating kids from families. There is not way to justify this based upon a law.
Although Rush Limbaugh assures us this is a man made crisis, so there's that.
The republicans and democrats are going to have to get together and work on this as a team. They will have to work together with brutal logic in mind. When a logical approach is found THEN you tweak the answer with morality and compassion. This is the only "good" way that we're going to do this right.
But as of right now - with media it's all emotion and no logic. With politicians it's all grandstanding virtue. With Trump... well, I don't want him saying "I've got a phone and I've got a pen".

I think it is safe to say this was a media manufactured outrage. Is it a bad policy? Sure. But, there were numerous fake articles floating around before they finally hit pay dirt on a "real" story. Trump Derangement Syndrome at its' finest. You can tell it is manufactured outrage when no one on the left wants to work with the right to fix it.
And, the biggest problem to me is that with all the shitty media out there, no one knows what is real/ true regarding the entire situation. The fake tweets get 300k retweets and then the retractions get 22.
