"[...] you can NEVER count on government to do anything right, or live up to their end of a deal."
"You wonder why bombs and guns and wrenches and widgets cost so much [...] taxpayers will probably now get to foot the entire bill."
Hey, they're your words.
Well... obviously you CAN count on the government when they're the ones you support.

The wall will SAVE taxpayer $$$$$$$$$$$$, to the tune of hundreds of billions over 5 years.
Get in the game.
You are assuming the wall will be on time and on budget. I highly, highly doubt a project of this size and nature will be done on time and on budget. Plus, that assumes the project is not killed in the courts or faces long delays due to various right of way lawsuits and stops.

…….because it isn’t. We spend upwards of $150 billion per year on illegal immigrants. If we save half of that going forward, by spending $25 billion on a wall, the payback is 4 months, and the savings over five years exceeds $350 billion. This is the easiest decision in congressional history, except when your personal hatred for Trump causes you to not fulfill your duty to The People.
Sources on the $150 billion part?
Also, evidence that the wall will serve its intended purpose?

I've lost track on what is actually being discussed when referencing "the wall."
Is this just a small section of an actual wall? A wall across the entire border? Chainlink fence?
Plmk.
Should we build it? Will it be effective? Will it be cost effective? Is it justified? How will it be build?
Basically whatever, I think.

I love the idea that QO thinks he can realistically calculate the cost of undocumented people. Since.. you know... they’re undocumented. So any and everything would purely be an estimate. Also.. a wall can’t remove people who are already here. Or people that didn’t come from the southern border. Or people who are paying taxes under fake id’s that would now be taken away. Or... well you get the idea, right?

You forgot people who fly here or who get here through the Canadian border.
We're trying to use a 6000-year-old method strategy against what those supporting it consider a problem (to whatever degree, since, as you mentioned, a lot of this will be pie-in-the-sky estimate work) today.

I was counting those under people who didn’t come thru the southern border

How about Trump and Conway going at it? Kellyanne and her husband have to be separated right? There is no way this would be happening if their marriage wasn't a sham.

I hope so at least. Otherwise it’s pretty shitty to trash your spouses employer publicly no matter how you truly feel.

The wheel and fire are 6,000 years old also.......should we get rid of them? The people that say "walls dont work" are idiots. I bet half of you have privacy fences to keep people out of your yards
Haha holy shit you’re stupid. People put fences around their yards, that proves a wall will keep out illegals!

If the fence around my backyard fell down tonight I'd for sure have 50-60 people just roaming around my backyard doing whatever they wanted by morning.

Fire is older and occurs in nature independent of man. You can't "get rid of" fire.
As for the wheel, it's still around, but it's not the best method of transportation today. Compare it to a plane, and it becomes embarrassing.
Many people probably do have privacy fences. Theyre good for privacy as long as nobody is trying to get in. On the other hand, if somebody IS trying to get in, they're a minor inconvenience.
Anyone who thinks a wall is going to significantly curb the problem is either a fool or a partisan hack. If the latter, they should at least have the decency to stop pretending to have the fiscal responsibility high ground.

You do realize that most planes still use wheels to take-off and land?
I also think you realize no one takes an airplane for the few moments it uses its wheels.. but whatever.
