Indian Creek 2010

The_end_of_overlookThat sport obviously did something to you... here you are years later posting, reading and arguing about high school sports. Must have had some kind of impact.
-
MANAZEI enjoyed playing sports I did not let sports rule my life however. There are more important things than high school sports. I'm here because I really do love my school and hope that they can finally turn it around one day. Plus if high school sports are suppose to teach us all these things why is it that Creek "replaced" its best track coach it ever to allow Mays to have the job? Mays was a horrible track coach that had no business being anywhere near the track team but yet the guy who could coach was going home after school?
I guess the lesson learned is that it doesn't matter how good at your job you are, you can lose it to someone who is a complete idiot. Oh wait that doesn't really happen at most jobs since replacing a good worker with a bad worker usully gets the boss fired to. -
outdoorsmanGo chiefs is right on with his post. I have seen how it has impacted my kids. Manaze, you seem bitter in alot of your post. At times you have trashed creek and at times you support it. Now you seem bitter, as I stated. I think I know why you are bitter and you have to be bigger than the issue and learn from it.
GoChiefs;614012 wrote:I disagree with you 1000% right there. That's B.S. if you don't believe that. Or you didn't play sports. -

Football at Big Red teaches you work ethic and disciplin, atleast it did me ...I think you need to rethink that . Indian Creek will never get over the top because they have too many parents out that way that baby there kids and perhaps take july and August vacations .. You guys havent been more than a mediocr football program since Fornsaglio and it doesnt look any differnt in the future ..Wintersville used to be a very tough team ,they had some real good teams in the 50's 60's 70's and 80's ... you guys are soft ..its just the truth ..I hope if any future football players come on here they might consider coming for a real challenge down at the Red ...Get with a real team and program ... IC is the MAC and Big Red is the Big Ten ...join up and be apart of something great !!!!MANAZE;613936 wrote:The real problem is people think that football is everything when it is not. Playing high school football does not teach work ethic, discipline, or whatever else you think it teaches. If that was the case we wouldn't have so many student athletes who do not know how to spell their last name. If you make a commitment to play a sport than you should be there to play it but if something like a family vacation comes up there is no reason why a student should be punished because he has miss it to practice. Like I said what happened to coaches that knew how to coach and didn't need 11 months out of a students year to make them a better football player?
You think the parents are the problem and in a lot of cases you might be right but when a student has to give up his life to play football it is not worth it. Let kids be kids because the last time I check you are only young once. -

Right now being a bagger at Kroggers would be a blessing to alot of people..Alot of people didnt and dont have good families and football sure does help them... Alot of us Big Red guys are from the other sides of the tracks . We are not westenders but we do have a little bit of everything ... Wintersville has always pretty much been made up of the same social economic background . I have heard how that school has so many little cliques though ... skatters ..jocks ... nerds .. etc ..its like out of an 80s B movie ... Big Red is the place to go .. it always has been and hopefully always will beMANAZE;614066 wrote:No my family molded me. People give sports way to much credit. If sports did all that you say it did than why is it most ex-high school sport stars working as baggers at Kroger or having six kids by the time they are 20 with a crimnal record?
Sports are only a game, if a sport has that much influence in your life than your parents have failed. -

If you dont know what you are saying, than shut up.
I have followed more than you will ever know and I know what Im saying. Lets just be real IC will be better off when they play the kids that work hard and come to practice, instead of little Tommy because his dad is on the school board or the kids that dont practice but still start on friday. -

Yea, when Big Red players are done with football, we read their names in the paper for breaking the law. You know this is true. -

Thats a pretty general label wouldnt you say ?....LOL..cmon man that is not acurate .. sure we got some kids that have gotten in trouble ..You saying you guys havent?...
See your attitude and those of alot of Central people are what I grew up with ..You guys always thought you were better than us ..Thats why it was so much fun putting the boots to your snobby butts -
MANAZENot all Creek people are stuck up some of us do come from working families and work hard ourselfs. I don't know why Central/Creek has their noses so high in the air, each has a worst drug problem then Big Red, neither of them can field a good all around athletic program, plus at least I know at Creek they have more "portables" aka trailers then in the most Redneck part of Oklahoma.
I'll never forget when I went to my brother-in-laws 8th grade graduation at whatever Central school he "graduated" from but they were some of the most stuck up people I ever met. I tried to walk out but my wife wouldn't let me. The priest was bragging about how great the school is and how much better they are then everyone else. Its hard to explain on the computer but it wasn't like it is at Creek where we say we are the best when we are just lifting our spirits there it was like they were putting everyone else down in the valley. I laughed and told my wife ya, we'd be better to if we could keep anyone out we wanted and had enough money to pay off anyone that might have gotten the raw end of the priest. -

I get the Herald Star every day. You say it's not accurate? I know what I read. -
MANAZEI hate to break it down for you but I know when I was at Creek we had more kids getting arrested than at Big Red. I don't remember anyone from Big Red setting the school on fire, or having the football coach get them out of trouble when they was the driver in a drive bye.

I think someone should have spent more time in a classroom than on the field. Just sayin'. -

There's something hilariously ironic in how a person who was complaining about the evil private schools stealing state titles because of recruiting making a post that's essentially a recruitment statement for his school. "Don't go to your school...move to mine!!!!" -

Just getting a laugh ....I really want all the students to come down to Big Red .... In reality though Mingo is like part of Steubenville and kids in the west end of steubenville are in IC school district so it doesnt matter anyway . My uncle lived in Steubenville and graduated from Wintersville and so did my father ..Hows that for you -
