I did read your entire post...maybe you don't understand what a dynasty IS. My reply was to that very point " were they a bit over-hyped? Maybe." Maybe????? Maybe they were over-hyped....that's just funny, that's what that is. Let's see, 3 winning seasons in a decade, does not make a dynasty. Nor does success on the 7th, 8th, 9th or reserve level warrant the dynasty label. Only Wining on the varsity level brings a chance for a dynasty.
Competing & Qualifying for the playoffs would be a step in the right direction. Still nowhere near a dynasty. Winning a playoff game, still not a dynasty. Wining a Region Title, way off...wining a State Semi Final....Runner-Up nope. State Championship, nope still no dynasty. Go win in the playoffs for decades with multiple State Championships in multiple divisions, some Back2Back2Back Championships thrown in...then you can start to say dynasty.
So your answer should have been; Hell yes we were over-hyped. We haven't won crap on the varsity level yet.
Or just replace the word playoffs with dynasty.....here lets see how that might look;
Dynasty? don't talk about... dynasty!...You kidding me.... dynasty?.....I just hope we can win a game!

Seeing as how you STILL chose to ignore 75% (the other three paragraphs) of my post...

I don't need to read the other paragraphs. I'm not debating those parts of your post. One in which you were responding to Outdoorsman. I was replying to the "Maybe they were over-hyped" part of the post .
But don't respond, call me names like illiterate. Enjoy the IC band for the last time this season. -
creekloyalwar_admiral;533203 wrote: Enjoy the IC band for the last time this season.
Oh! I will enjoy them, but not quite as much as I did at HEINZ FIELD, DISNEY WORLD, CHICAGO, etc.
However, it will not be the last time they perform this season. They have several more performances scheduled! -
CthelitesWhy do you big red posters always got to come on Creek threads and spew your negativity and crap?
Go back to your hundreds of big red threads!
And you wonder why most people in the state hate you guys. And no its not from jealousy, its from your extreme arrogance. -
war_admiralMake you a deal, I'll stop posting on creek threads if they stop making slanderous posts on our threads.

LRB54can I.C. beat edison?

Can they? Yes. Will they? It depends on the game. Either team could come out with a W. -

I only come on here every now and again. I have enough other stuff that I look at.
I dont ever go on big red threads anymore so I wouldnt know what your talking about nor do I care.
I know SOS used to get caught up in alot of that stuff. Seems to me like hes the sensible one staying off these forums.
Good luck the the Big Red in the playoffs. -

If you are referring to the remark about recruiting after junior high....
1. Personal opinion is not slander. Look it up if you don't believe me.
2. The thread in which that was posted is entitled DIVISION 3 REGION 11. Last time I checked, as much as they'd like to be, your school is not THE ENTIRE division. So, I was not on "your" thread. However, this thread is entitled "INDIAN CREEK 2010." Your negativity is not welcome here. -
outdoorsmanWell, it was a great ending to a season that we hoped for more. Hats off to the team and coaches for a HUGE win tonight. Lets hope we build off of it for next year.
Congrats for to Edison for a great season. -
sonofsamI'm still here... Creek played an outstanding game tonight, the score in no way reflected the total butt whooping they laid on Edison... Sure we finished another season at 6-4 but there are a lot of positives to take away from the entire season. This year was a series of ups and downs that I don't expect any Big Red fans to do anything but bash (or as MoW says we stink) and continue to live in the hopeless dream of Reno living and coaching forever... Here is basically the season breakdown...
Before the season started, I predicted a record of no worse than 7-3, more likely 8-2 or 9-1 with the possibility of 10-0. We had a starting linebacker quit right before the season started. Another went down and out for the season during a passing scrimmage right before the regular season started. That shook up the defensive side of the ball significantly. In week 2 we lost one of our best DB/WRs for the season with a neck injury, and our best TE nursed an injured ankle all season long at the decision of the coaches. We had a starting O lineman out EVERY game this season. Sophmore Alex Young stepped up a very nice WR role despite his injured wrist.
Last year the flu/sickness hit us hard, this year it was injuries...
The coaches put together great game plans all season long. We are a VERY young team that has TONS of talent returning. Our O line is mostly sophmores, and the D line is comprised of ALL underclassmen. We lose very few players...
We have lacked a few things this year, experience being on of them, the other is total team effort and heart... They found that tonight against Edison. Tonight a totally different team took the field, dominated the field, and will continue to get better. The team that took the field tonight could have gone 9-1 or 10-0. Creek is loaded the next few years and will make some noise...
BTW, Connor stays the Head Coach and rightfully so. He is the right man for the job and will show that over the next few seasons. -
LocoEngineer66Thank You Indian Creek!!!!!!!
Ya got Minerva in week 11 with your win!!!!!!
I was at the game ... You guys played a great game tonight. -

Same story every year.
How many bad years will it take for indian creek to look for a new coach and stop talking about the great plan that is in the works or make excuses for their poor seasons every year.
Things will never change and Indian Creek will continue to be the team that everyone wants on their schedule for homecoming until they make the changes that are needed. -

You remind me of me a few years ago... Let me give you some advice... If you are a fan, be one. If you are not a fan, go pound salt. If you are a parent of a player, stop babying your kid and toughen him up. Most of all, wake up and realize this... They DID NOT put you in charge of picking the head coach because your eyes are closed... -
CenterBHSFanAs an outsider, I can say that I truly understand both sides of the argument here. The first step in reconciling any issues is for both sides to concede legit points from the opposition. Believe me, I'm a Bellaire fan, we've been there... and worse.
There comes a point in time, though, when a program either turns the corner or it doesn't. It's not always the crop of kids, and it's not always the coach(ing).
If football is important to the school, which being from the Ohio Valley it sure is, there needs to be some sort of catalyst to start the combustion. What is the catalyst for Creek going to be? I surely don't know. But, as a respectful fan of the game I hope that Creek finds it, and soon.
Good luck! -
creekloyalLast night was a very good game!!! Take away the yards in penalties and the score would have reflected the playing! This team came out motivated and ready to play! If we had played like that throughout the entire season, we would be a playoff team! It was nice to know that the talent and ability to be in the post season was there, we just lost key games at key points. Most of our losses were close games that were lost at key points within the game. Fix little mistakes like that and....
I wasn't expecting 8-2 or anything this season because I was aware of the young roster. We ended up right about where I expected with all of the youth. But I'm thinking if a team that young can go 6-4, what can they do the next two years?! I know people will bash and say they hear that a lot from Creek, but if you want FACTS, just look at the roster from this year! We had a total of about 10 seniors, only approximately 5 of which played regularly! These young guys got all kinds of playing time! Experience will help!
Coaching has also improved this year! The only thing that needs some work is the offensive play calling, which has improved, but needs just one more boost. When playing teams that are almost a guaranteed win, our play book seems to be very diverse. However, when up against teams that present a challenge, we go back to the same ol' Creek play calling. Up the middle...up the middle...up the middle. Change it up a bit. Get the D guessing. THEN we will be seeing week 11...and maybe beyond! -
LocoEngineer66
I will work on that for you!sonofsam;539287 wrote:Thanks... Now only if we could get Carrollton on the schedule... -
ThinthickbigredCarrollton would be a nice pickup for Indian Creek and Edison . Id like Big Red to get a couple of games with them . IC and Carrollton would be the real rout 43 bowl 20 miles apart I dont know why they havent found theyre way on anybodies local schedule
-
sonofsamI know for a fact that IC has contacted Carrollton about a series... Do not know the specific details whether it was a conflict of schedule or not, but Carrollton declined. We dropped John Hay this year and another Cleve. team will replace them... The John Marshall Lawyers. I would MUCH rather see carrollton in that spot. Not 100% sure about Oak Glen, but they may be out as well.
I also know that Creek had a deal worked out with East Liverpool just before the season started for them to replace John Hay... For some reason that fell through also. EL backed out and we were forced to keep John Hay this year. There have been multiple attempts before this year to schedule a team to replace John Hay, I know EL, Beaver Local, Carrollton, John Marshall, Wheeling Park, and I believe Brooke were all contacted about getting on the schedule and nothing could be worked out. The only team that called us wanting to be on the schedule and had the opening was Columbianna. We chose not to schedule the D6 team with so many D4 teams on our B8 schedule. -

I am not trying to start an argument or bash the kids but things will never change until the right people are put in place and I am a fan of all the local teams and always enjoy a good game but I think the kids deserve better than they are getting. You have had some very good athletes come thru your program and you continue to have a bad record every year and lets be honest with the schedule also because you only beat 2 teams with a winning record this year.yes I am a parent of 2 children who graduated college many years ago and have no personal interest in your school or team but follow all the local teams and think you could do better with the athletes you have had.
I will not argue with you anymore about kids on here because that is why I have only posted a few times on here because everyone wants to argue and bash the kids on here so good luck next year and also from what I read in the paper today and the news congratulations on a well played game against edison.
