  Our offense will be exciting with bailey behind center but I also like whetsell getting some carries out of the back field I think he will surprise a lot of people with how good he is. I don't know about 6 wins as I see 4 being more realistic but that is better than the last few years and it is a step in the right direction.

  Which WCAL team has the best week 1 matchup? IMO Hillsdale/Manchester seems like a good game. I may sit out the local scene and head to watch McKinley/Buchtel and get a glimpse of Superman EGW Ohio State's newest recruit.

  I was going to try to do non-league as well, but it looks like it has just gotten a bit hairy. If I can get it set up by next week, would anyone be interested in doing two weeks of non-conference game picks as well, or would that be unnecessary?

  This is too funny. I think they were there talking to Coach Dennis for promotion purposes. Nope maybe the water boy I think he can play and I am sure he has some great fictitious stats coach dennis has reported. I did run into some parents from Rittman and the whole town is just laughing and they say the boy is just strutting around like he is paul warfield. This has separated the team for sure. They say their best player is probably the vaugh boy. Well good luck to all this year.

  That is very good news. I heard that Raines may be back as well, but my need confirmation on that. Garaway lost a lot from a very good team last year, but they still have looked good so far and do have some solid starters back. If the bulldogs can get the win, it would be a great start against a very solid team.

  last update I got D-town was up 40-7. Rittman had a few flashes but lack of tackling and another game of the father son show gave them an X in the loss column. it didnt help that they last Vaughn very early in the first quarter to what is rumored to be a broken collar bone along with a few other starters. Endress and Kidd looked good when they had the chance, along with Butcher, Myers, McGuire and a few others on defense.
  
  Only time will tell but I'm hoping D1 learns this whole north south running thing soon!
  
  tweets like this arent gaining the young man much support in the salt town though, I can guarantee that!

  Dalton loss a heartbreaker 35-28 ! 3 turnovers in the 2nd half didn't help any ,and Garway turn them into pts !

  Bears win?

  Bears did win. 18-8. TV scored with like 2 minutes to go. Offense was effective. QB Weaver did a great job. The defense did a nice job as well making big plays when necessary. The Bears were missing several key two way starters for game one and lost a third, Lester with a concussion early. This team has some real talent with a few seniors like Cottrill and Weaver leading a young sophomore filled club. They should only get better over the next few weeks and years.
  
  Chippewa gets a big win over a very bad Mapleton team. Anytime you rack up 40+ points you have reason to be excited.
  Rittman lost to a bad Akron North team but losing their best player in the opening minutes could have made the difference.
  NW and Norwayne did what they will do most weeks. Beat up on teams.
  Smithville just got hammered. Could they be the new 0-10 team this year?
  Dalton surprised me a bit. Sounds like turnovers hurt them against a Garaway team I had heard was going to be down this year.
  Hillsdale hung tough against what will be a very good Manchester team this year.
  
  Looks like we could have another year with a huge gap in talent from the league to the bottom.

  Didnt make it to the Norwayne game Friday, but heard that they lost their starting running back to a broken ankle and starting DE to a knee problem. Is this true?? also 2 starting Olinemen still out? Not a good way to start the season is this is all true

  I don't quite get it...We're all happy Waynedale's losing streak is over, but it's probably going to be on you to organize the parade and get the national holiday declared.

  a few thoughts from the Dalton game - garaway is not as good last year, Dalton is better than last year. Bulldog run D was excellent. Pass D was solid, followed by horrible. They were good in coverage, then had multiple times when a garaway receiver had no one within 20 yards of them, completely uncovered, allowing for long touchdowns - a little mystifying. Both teams made plenty of mistakes in this game, Dalton just made more of them. Burke was a little jumpy early at the qb spot, but settled in later in the game. Had a few very nice balls in this game. They have some real weapons in the passing game with 3 guys over 6-5 and some good speed with mann and ryder at slot and reciever. The o line concerns me a little as they didn't give a lot of holes in the run game. Dawgs are small up front outside of JD Murphy at center who is very good. I think this can be a 6-4 team if they cut down on the penalties, and get the coverage mistakes fixed.

  I'm not saying anything is justified and we are not happy with just one win . I'm just waiting for the "experts" to jump back on here when we do lose a game. No one ever wants to compliment Coach Z on here they just want to tear him down.
  
  You have no idea about what went on over here last year. Our so called "fans" were ruthless and had no class towards our coaching staff. I do appreciate your "insight" but please make sure you know the facts. You know what gets me through the night????...knowing that there are people out there that actually think they know what they are talking about. I laugh myself to sleep...or better yet I "LOL" myself to sleep (yuck, yuck).
