It was one person, not "fans" and he was just yanking the chain a bit. And if you were in attendence of the game you would have seen players with attitudes, Perone runs fifty yards gets tackled, then after they are down the woo kid gives a little extra, then when Perone gets up to hand the ball to the official, the kid chucks him with his shoulder. Perone never reacted. Flag on Woo. Or how about the kid that makes a 6 yard catch and dances around all the way back to the huddle. Really, you make a tackle after a 50 yard gain or a 6 yard pass in a game that is thirty something to nothing, and you are gonna give the attitude. That was probably the biggest issue I saw for wooster, no I in team.scarface1;1300989 wrote:GIve you credit for having a good team and the attitude comes out. Hey Greatwhite read the rest of my posts I'm the first one that criticized our kids for thier actions. And I know he was kidding around as was I obviously you cant tell also gave you guys credit for having a very nice team so calm down. I also have been saying all year that the problem with wooster is not playing team football please read more posts before getting all upset.Greatwhite;1301148 wrote:It was one person, not "fans" and he was just yanking the chain a bit. gohardorgohomefirst things first i heard multiple times that those supposed great west holmes kids talked a lot of trash directing players directly about personal things so those boys are not as perfect as greatwhite thinks. the referees during that game i saw were very biased to the home team. i do not like to pass the blame and i am not, but the refs did not do that equally at all. scarface you must realize that when a player chooses to play for himself and the things he wants individually, you can not change that. many kids have been that way for years and will not change. your post prior to this about mccreary kicking the one kid off the team, i heard from many players he quit. he never was kicked off the team, so check your facts. there were many occasions when i have seen captains attempt to talk to a few playerrs they put their block up and push you away.

you might want to check your facts. Mccreary ask kids what to do about him bacause he wanted to come back, after he was run off for bad attitude and the senior captains from last year said no therefore kicked off team. Also refs were horrible but when you lose 43-0 dont think that is a worth while argument. Never said captains werent trying they are 4 out of 5 guys that play hard every snap they are in. While maybe there was talking going on out there as there always is on the field our players cannot act like they are winning by 43 when we are losing by 43.gohardorgohome;1301286 wrote:first things first i heard multiple times that those supposed great west holmes kids talked a lot of trash directing players directly about personal things so those boys are not as perfect as greatwhite thinks. the referees during that game i saw were very biased to the home team. i do not like to pass the blame and i am not, but the refs did not do that equally at all. scarface you must realize that when a player chooses to play for himself and the things he wants individually, you can not change that. many kids have been that way for years and will not change. your post prior to this about mccreary kicking the one kid off the team, i heard from many players he quit. he never was kicked off the team, so check your facts. there were many occasions when i have seen captains attempt to talk to a few playerrs they put their block up and push you away. -
jacoBeat Orrville and alot of ills are cured for the time being! I'd rather go into the off season on a win. That's been a rarity around Wooster for quite a while.
The two biggest issues I've seen with this team this season are: 1) mental mistakes and 2) lack of physical play. Coach has called these two issues out all season. Those are things that can be corrected, and I hope he thinks about them both during the off season. To me, mental mistakes are a by product of discipline. Blown assignments, unforced turnovers, dumb penalties... The bar needs to be raised regarding expectations placed upon the players to be smarter. As to lack of physical play, that's at every level of Wooster. I've seen every team in the program play this year and they're all poor tacklers. The only way to be more physical in games is to be more physical in practice.
Good luck, Generals! -

Your post wreaks of vagueness. Then the part about the refs. Wooster penalties 2 for 19, WH 5-48. Looks like they were biased to the home team lol -

With these issues your team sounds like a mirror image of Orrville therefore it might be a good game on Saturday. If you guys fix these concerns for this game you should win easilyjaco;1301471 wrote:Beat Orrville and alot of ills are cured for the time being! I'd rather go into the off season on a win. I don't expect these problems to be cleaned up in a week! This game is either going to be a narrow grind it out Orrville win or a Wooster rout. Just depends upon which team imposes their will on the other. Wooster is very capable of putting 40 or 50 up on the board. They just won't stop anybody defensively, either. And sometimes the offense implodes. If it's a messy field, that plays to Orrville's advantage. Normally I'd say put your money on the team with the athletes, but the issue is "are these kids serious about winning this game or already thinking about basketball"? Guess we'll find out.
Orrville - I do feel bad for those kids. They're not living up to their legacy, but I think they play as hard as they're capable of. They're just not particularly big or athletic. No shame in that. I don't think they quit, they're just physically overmatched. Fans aren't used to seeing that. OCC has been awful tough this year. The record would be much different if Orrville was playing other D4 schools. The odd part, though, is I've seen the younger teams and there's not alot of athletes or size there, either. Neither junior high team won a game this year. Might behoove Orrville to look at a conference change. -
gowooThoughts on having the game on Saturday rather than Friday? I saw someone on the Orrville thread mention this and I agree with them, move it back to Friday.

I would like to see it moved back to Friday as well. It made sense when they moved it to Saturday for the 100th meeting, but its time to bring it back to Friday!gowoo;1301697 wrote:Thoughts on having the game on Saturday rather than Friday? jacoYeah, I'm being asked to skip the second half of the Buckeyes game to go watch a two win team versus a one win team. If either team was playing for something I'd get it, but they're not. Keep it on Fridays and bump it to Saturday if there's some special reason. Knowing Wooster athletics, there's probably a girls soccer tournament scheduled on the field for Friday night..

What is the condition of Follis at this point??? besides the patchy grass, bare dirt spots, and the bleachers are 3 miles from the field??jaco;1301745 wrote:Yeah, I'm being asked to skip the second half of the Buckeyes game to go watch a two win team versus a one win team. Actually, excellent. I just looked at it Saturday. Neither the freshmen nor 8th graders were allowed on it this year, so aside from just seven varsity and JV football games it was exclusively used for about 18 soccer games. Their dainty steps apparently don't inflict much wear.
Meanwhile, the freshmen play on the varsity practice field with no scoreboard, two drainage grates on the field that have to be covered, and an endzone that abuts the parking lot where WR's bounce off of car doors. The 8th graders get the 7th graders practice pasture with no bleachers or scoreboard. It's all a matter of priorities in Wooster. At some point I'm waiting for Follis to just be used for soccer and band-o-rama's, while the varsity plays on the mean practice field with its Viet Cong boobytraps. -

Agree one hundred percent the junior high coaches need to go. The kids who play at maurer on saturday mornings play with more passion and heart than the kids at the junior high level. I know when my kid played 7th grade he said his pee wee practices were harder. The discipline thing may start to turn around in coaches second year now that he has a feel for some of the kids. It has to be hard to come in and try to change this kind of stuff in one year after the kids he has right now have been through the old system for so long. And it may take a couple years to get things straight.jaco;1301471 wrote:Beat Orrville and alot of ills are cured for the time being! I'd rather go into the off season on a win. actually yes do still feel this way. Always said changes may not show in wins and losses on field. There are some good things happening behind the scenes that hopefully will pay off in a couple of years. Cant change things all in one year.Old Rider;1290939 wrote:Still feel this way??? -
