CCRollyWow....some Orrville posters om here becoming really arrogant like the ones from Genoa a few years back. Wooster will be alright under Haas, enjoy your time yucking it up while you can ladies.

scarface1Not a very good night in woo town but like i said young QB new system a lot of growing pains. Defense not to bad, not impressed with offense yet. Same old thing here as last good athletes but very few team players. Hope Haas can turn it around fast he needs to find football players on this team not just athletes.

No kidding.
We got to hear all about how "down" Orrville was going to be and how MONUMENTALLY different things were going to be in Wooster in 2012.
A 6'5" QB....4.3 WR speed, a new & improved D. and goofs on Twitter ALREADY talking about a week 10 game they haven't won in 7 years.
Karma certainly is a female dog.
And yes...LOL at the trolls (the only ones keeping this thread alive). -
RedRider1And regardless of what happened in week 1 or is set to happen in weeks 2 & 3, the OCC will be a dogfight for 7 weeks. Could be a year where a few teams tie for the league title with 2 losses.
-
gowooKeeping working hard Wooster boys. Good things will come. It is only week one. Playing tough competition the next few weeks will only make you better. Some on here seem to think that the results of week 1 speak for the whole season, win or lose. Hard work will pay off.

THE4RINGZHere is my break down of the Wooster game from last night.
I did not attend the first half, I got home from work around halftime so I only saw the second half.
However, several eyewitness reports from the first half will allow me to give a brief synopsis. Wooster forced 2 turnovers, threw 2 Td passes, missed both PAT's and a field goal attempt.
Now on to what I saw.
Offense: First series out of the locker room, three passes were dropped by recievers forcing a punt. I thought at least two of the three were more than catchable, the third would have been a highlight reel catch but it did hit hands. After that, The QB and receivers never seemed to be on the same page. Either the wrong routes were being run or the ball was getting delivered to the wrong spots. A couple of times, on a streak route the ball was underthrown which prevented the ball from being intercepted. I would have liked to have seen more passes in the 10-12 yard range not always looking for the 25+ yard home run ball. I thought when Wooster went to the running game they did well, especially with the bigger back. (More on that later), and when you run a jet sweep, you HAVE to turn upfield. They let the D string the play out and make some tackles for loss.
Defense: I thought the passing D was fairly solid. I would have liked to see them lock on that #4 receiver. He seemed to always be open and was the main target of the QB. Garfield ran a three back backfield with some nice size and speed. Wooster was a little befuddled by that look. I noticed that, that is the same running attack West Holmes ran last night as well. Wooster's D line needed to make some stops, especially later in the game to get the ball back.
Coaching: Much to the dismay of Old Rider, Haas and his staff were all wearing matching khaki pants and matching polo shirts, and I believe athletic shoes. Sorry . Having seen Haas coach before I was little surprised that late in the game (around the 6:00 mark in the 4th) Wooster had the ball at their own 25 yard line give or take. I thought I would see a little dink and dunk from the offense, not trying to run a small back up the middle or right off tackle a couple of times. I guess the coaching staff outsmarted even me on that drive. The int hurt, and I am sure the QB will learn from that mistake, I think that was the only play he looked like a young inexperienced qb.
Crowd/Atmosphere: Nice crowd on hand last night, and remember I was there AFTER the band show and the stands were still full. It seems like the staff at WHS has made efforts to make the game more interactive and fan friendly for those in attendance. I thought there was a nice buzz at Follis last night. Winning a few games and keeping that crowd excited will be crucial from here on out. I didn't see a whole lot of wine and cheesers. Everyone we sat around was pretty much focused on the game, and making some noise. Except for the Asian couple, I am not sure if they even really knew what was going on, but they were having fun waving to their son in the band. Of course, in true Wooster fashion, on the way out I saw a guy I know and he remarked, "Changing coaches really helped" kiss my Miyagi. That kind of crap needs to go, or stay the heck at home. (You are welcome mods for my G-rated language there).
Overall, I think the team now knows what to expect come Friday nights, and if they can turn some mistakes around, they will have a nice season.

Mr MiyagiI agree with this synopsis , except for the "kiss my miyagi" part

scarface1agree 4ringz just hope as many people show up next week to support i am sure they will play better need to come out of halftime a little more fired up looked flat to me. That was suprising to me. They are still having issues with attitudes from some players that needs adressed if it isnt it could become problem like last year.

FlashI wasn't over here trolling, I was looking for a score and found Jaco saying we're in for a long season and CC Rolly cutting up our schedule. I responded and later posted that you lost, so thats not exactly trolling. I wish Wooster well except in week 10.

thePITmanGood luck to Coach Haas and his Generals as they look to rebound from last week's disappointing loss. It doesn't get any easier, though, as Wadsworth comes to town.
Sorry, but Genoa posters were in a league of their own. Bragging about kicking field goals on 3rd down... Their JV would beat Orrville by 30... etc. And then losing because of a missed kick. LoL!CCRolly;1254463 wrote:Wow....some Orrville posters om here becoming really arrogant like the ones from Genoa a few years back. ...and then to Chagrin Falls...followed by Ashland. Thats a brutal stretch there. Avoiding an 0-4 start may be tough to do! RedRider1Wins/Losses wouldn't matter to me if I were Haas or a Wooster fan....each of the next 2 will prep you for a tough OCC schedule.
Ashland started 0-3 last year and won the OCC & made the playoffs. All 3 losses were to good teams...it paid off. -
thePITman^^ I agree. With the fair-weatheredness of Wooster fans, though, are they willing to sit through 3 losses to start the season? Will their excitement coming into the season have vanished by then, or will it last until they get into the OCC schedule? And even then, what if they lose to Ashland, going 0-4? It's a possibility. But the season is long. Many things can change.

Old RiderNew regime...same results. That will make any fan frustrated.

Not fans frusration im worried about its the kids. As I've said before there are some attitudes on this team that cant handle adversity and it may snowball out of control without at least one win in the next few games. -
RedRider1Only because I know a guy with a kid on the team...not trying to rub anything in......
Wooster frosh lost to Wadsworth 46-12. -
gowooWooster freshman only had about 15 kids out I think. When school started a few more started. Not suprised here, they are low in numbers and experience. However, as many Orrville posters pointed out last year, JV and lower games don't mean anything in terms of the future, right?
-
thePITmanUnless it's Genoa's JV. That's the real deal, there. LoL
-
OQBBest of luck to the Generals tonight!
-
iced earthWooster has a long way to go to be a really good team. But tonight the effort and intensity that was missing last week was there from beginning to end.
Amazing win in front of a huge crowd....great scene afterwards with all the students on the field in the post game huddle.
The type of effort they gave tonight will keep them close in every game this year. Good for them and good for the program. -

I agree, a long way to go offensively but what an effort. Great Defense. Keep it up boys.iced earth;1259070 wrote:Wooster has a long way to go to be a really good team. But tonight the effort and intensity that was missing last week was there from beginning to end.
