jph1589I found an article from the Medina Gazette from the 25th that announces Haas leaving Cloverleaf for the job in Wooster. Yes I know that we all knew that but what we didnt know is that the state auditor announced that Cloverleaf was in fiscal emergency the same day.
Doug wasn't sure that any of the sports coaches were going to have a job more than one more year. Now I realize they only get one year contracts at a time but it certainly does lend some justification to him jumping ship in this case. Triway and Rittman were both in similar financial situations when he was there. So I guess I'm trying to help justify him changing jobs every 3 years and give him the benefit of the doubt.
I also like the way the COW runs the sidelines during their games and if he spent 7 years there, maybe some of it rubbed off. I would like nothing better than to see Wooster stop playing 11 players both ways and instead to use the time when the offense is off the field to get them ready for their next possession. The same with the defense. That time on the sidelines to actually coach is invaluable. There was never any real coaching happening on the Wooster sidelines in any game I've seen.
So, I am trying to find facts to help me be confident instead of just listening to emotional opinions which there are far too many of in everything. And in doing so I may be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope to god it isn't a TRAIN!!
I don't know what I predict, but I won't be happy with anything less than 7-3. If that doesn't win the conference, then whatever it takes to win it after that is what I expect. It is what we should all expect every year. There just isn't a good reason not to expect that every year.
PS: Find a kicker and develop him. There is no excuse for not being able to have field goal opportunities when you are within range. There is also no excuse for not being deadly with extra points. And find a punter and develop him. Field position and special teams win games. That needs to change. OK I will shut up now. Oh wait..... get a defensive back coach who can teach them to pop those receivers off the line instead of letting them run their routes free. In a game where seconds make the difference, that is one of the biggest ways to screw up an opponents passing game. Bad pass defense was the reason for almost every loss this past year. You get 5 yards to pop them off the line of scrimmage. Coach them to use it!!!! OK now I will shut up.
Good luck Woo. I would like nothing better than to watch a winning season!!! -

RedRider1Wadsworth & Chagrin will be 2 tough ones...so I'll say. 1-2 start.
Who knows what the OCC will be like next year but I can't see Wooster any worse than 4-3.
So that's 5-5...maybe 6-4 at best. -

Based on all of the talk the past few months the only way that Woo gets a tough schedule is if they would drop out of the OCC and join the WCAL!!!THE4RINGZ;1071268 wrote:Wadsworth, Chagrin, plus one more....Wooster is about to have the toughest schedule in the state. -

BirddogThat would make all the wooster people happy because I think they could have gone 4-3 in the WCAL this year. I just hope haas puts the time in to make it work, because he has not up to this point. He does not work extra for any kid in reference to getting them recruited or helping them with college stuff. He has never had a D1 sign in any program and believe me he has had some. Very good salesman for himself so he should try and sale some of his players. I want them to win but I have been close to haas ball too long over the years and know what to expect.

2012 Wooster Generals 5-5 or 6-4..............2012 Orr/Woo will actually be an exciting, close game. -
