Last one with the ball wins.
Genoa and Eastwood could've scored @ a hundred 5 times this year if they didn't let off the throttle :(
It's not a good situation to be in and I feel for both of the coaches.
Last I checked it isn't your job as a football coach to make sure things don't get out of hand.
I was taught if you don't like getting an a$$ kicking then you lick your wounds and work harder so it doesn't happen again.
Apparently kids don't have the same mentality nowadays.
Genoa and Eastwood could both be very good football teams if they actually got better over the course of the season by being faced with adversity or teams that didn't roll over and die when they get scored on.
Putting up those numbers in this league is like winning the biggest midget contest.

personally like #2. Don't hate anyone. Maybe we should get tee shirts made up - "BEAT TSOT". I would purchase one.

Not to change the subject but does anyone else NOT have sound on the school channel #203 on Armstrong cable. Like to watch replay of the game but no sound is strange. I called Armstrong and they said it was the schools fault. Just wondering

I second that congratulations and throw in one for Brenner Lewis as well. Academic excellence as a priority with sports is always to be commended...even if its a tsot athlete.

Quick look at regions and the worst records still in the top 8.

    DI 6-3 with 8-1's lower

    DII 5-4 ( 2 teams, Ashland is one , with 7-2's lower

DIII 4-5 Napoleon with 7-2's lower

    DIV 5-4 Ironton

    DV 7-2 with 8-1's lower

DVI 4-5 Wellsville with 6-3 lower

Strength of schedule does make a big difference, and it looks like DV is one of the strongest divisions this season.

Here's something to chew on. I looked at our Offense and defense last year thru 9 games. Here is the average:

2010 Offense 27 ppg Defense allowed 22 pg difference +5 ppg
2011 Offense 23 ppg Defense allowed 16 ppg difference +7 ppg

I found that interesting. Also remember we played in great weather last year most every night through the season. I would have thought the numbers would have been different. I also would say our schedule strength was a little tougher this year as a whole (say for the titans)

The league is average this year and really no front runner.....everyone can be beat and we have seen that this year.

    2010 opponents season records:
    62-45

Played 4 playoff teams, including Ashland who went to the regional finals in div. II

    2011 oppenents season records:
    44-46

2 playoff teams Northwest, and Ashland gets in if they win.

So last year's schedule was by far tougher than this year, but I still agree that our schedule is very strong every year and helps this div. IV school get into the playoffs with 6-4 7-3 records.

I would disagree with that. I think fantastic50 had our schedule strength about the same or a little less last year. Triway is the great big booger of a difference this year. Ashland back in the playoffs and although maybe not as good as last year....ending the year pretty tough, WH, Madison, Sr, Lex, All better than last year...some by a ton. Copley is a playoff team for sure if they don't lose Turner to injury. CF not as good but that was a team of a generation for them last year. NW a ton better. I would argue as a whole a tougher schedule....maybe no that 1 or 2 marquis teams but overall very good test week in and week out. I think it was the league's balance not weakness that made it tough for teams to get in the playoffs. We are blessed to be DIV for that matter. Now I will say numbers wise I can think of 4-5 defensive scores off the top of my head this year that adds numbers to the offensive production and last year we all remember how many scores our offense gave up in some of those games....so numbers can lie.
