Luckyone959I found this article to be of value to me regarding roughing the punter/kicker:

otownexpertI love all the educated conversations. It sure beats all the negative talk. Wooster week has arrived and were playing week 11. Good job boys and coaches! I hate the travel but it sure helps playing bigger quality teams. As you may see I don't post much but since were being civil I do have a few questions. Why doesn't #36 and #52 play offense? I know #36 plays some but not all the time! These 2 kids are excellent athletes that seem to work extremely hard on the defensive side of the ball etc. I'm a fan of Summers moving to FB or TD. It's his natural position and he's really good there. You have a play maker and physical runner playing center? Why Summers a center? He would help us with the ball in his hands. He's a gamer. To say it's too late to make adjustments like this when our offense is sputtering? Couldn't #52 play center if our current back-up isn't ready? He seems to do really well at nose! Thoughts?

Diehard Rider FanExcellent points all the way around. I think you pose too many snap problems to thrust T White into a center position now. I like what I see with Drew in the wildcat offense as a wrinkle but he's such a risk-taker that its a bit dangerous to have him trying to force balls in at qb. I'm not saying he's totally incapable, just that having watched him for several years now I would be concerned with turnovers. I was wondering if Zook was 100% this past Friday? I would have liked to see him carry the ball a few times. I agree with 5knots, he adds a dimension we have missed since early in the season. How about a package that would put Drew in the backfield with Mason? Just a few plays.

Red Rider81Hello all rider fans, this is my 38th season of attending orrville football games, i have only missed 5 games in those 38 years. Its been 21 years since i missed a game. This year i have scratched my head so many times wondering what the coach was doing and i've been hard on him at times. Coach if you read this site i would like to appologize for being so hard on you. I do think we need a new offense or at least some new plays for next season. The bottom line is this team has overcome alot this season, injurys to key players, and the death of a teammate. Through all this you still managed to end up with a week 11 to play, congratulations men well done. Now go kick some general butt this saturday.

RedRider1Guys...enough of this civility...let's get back to name calling and saying the coaching staff is out to play favorites....and calling for the coaches IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION!!!!!!!!!
LOL....seriously, good to have positive conversation leading up to week 10. If there's one thing that unites us, it's that we want to beat Wooster (for a 7th straight time). -
riders1Just glanced at region 14 and Orrville's point total, placing us 2nd in 13 would place us 5th in region 14 with Genoa in 4th and a fun trip to Genoa. Missing those boys over here
-
riders1Also our "weak" schedule has us with the 10th most point total in the state. We really need to get stronger teams scheduled
-
RedRider1There you go again...using statistics to prove your point.
Genoa/Eastwood should be a barn-burner this week. Eastwood put up 82 on Woodmore last week. Sounds like they're doing their best Genoa impression. -
OQBI have been talking to a guy from Genoa all year long and he said this week 10 game should be epic....
-
ridernationI will be getting updates on Eastwood/Genoa game from my sister she is going to it.

I'm glad to see so much support in favor of playing our best to beat Wooster!

Red Rider NationAbout Orrvilles schedule the numbers dont lie. I dont think its cupcake city but its definitely not all that tough. All I heard all year is how great the OCC is and this is the most down of a year since the conference began. Last year the OCC sent 3 teams to the playoffs. (Orrville, Clear Fork, and Ashland). THis year just Orrville for sure and if Ashland wins Friday night then them too. Also we played Copley and Triway last year both of which were playoff teams and both of which are not this year. We are in Region 13 and there is absolutely no comparison between Reg 13 and 14. Not trying to stir anything up just wanted to prove my point a little that the 8th or 10th toughest schedule in D4 when you only play 2 D4 teams is not all that tough! For sure the only team we have beat or played that is a playoff team is Northwest and if they lay an egg Friday night against Barberton they may be out too! WIth all this being said, Week 11 is a brand new week and everyone will be back to 0-0. Handle business in Week 10 then begin your new season! Go Riders!!!
-
THE4RINGZOrrville has three losses but is the #2 team in Region 13, that does speak to the strength of their schedule. Numbers don't lie.
-
Full ThrottleChecking out the wcal game also.Still cant beleive Norwayne only had 9 plays in the half.Probably have seen a thousand games and never have seen that happen. Was it Smithvilles defense or Norwaynes offense.
-
RedRider1Bonfire/Parade and Adult "Beat Wooster" party are Friday night.
I'll be attending the local festivities...avoiding the traffic in Crest-tucky and catching updates on the radio and twitter. -
riders1Good luck to the RED RIDER girls in volleyball tonight!!!!

5knotsI probably should have posted this on our thread, but mistakenly was on the game thread..oh well
I hate to pick on the Daily Record, but with all the things to talk about in regard to Orrville-Wooster or just Orrville football in general, why do you try to insinuate that our injuries are to blame for our setbacks. I am proud of the fact that none of the guys fell into that trap. "We play with who we have" ..."other guys step up and fill roles"..and expect to win every time we take the field. Maybe a mention of the fact that by week 11 this year our senior class will have been involved in 48 High School football games? Might that not be more interesting than a few broken bones and pulled muscles? Not many programs can boast those stats the past few years. JMO
Reflecting on that makes me feel guilty for being so critical of these guys and coaches...I guess we can't help it that we always want more...especially when we are used to getting what we want. lol. I hope we start a second season Saturday night with a big win over those Generals....you know the Buckeye faithful won't say Mich.....or even type it they call and write tsun for "the school up north". I make a motion we start referring to that other team as tsow "the school out west". Can someone come up with a better moniker? If not I'll need a second to that motion. We should from here on out stop using any other name for tsow!
Had another thought....tsot for that school over there? We'll need a vote -
RedRider1#them
-
5knots#1 = tsow = the school out west
#2 = tsot = the school over there
#3 = tswh = the school we hate
Cast your vote now! -
riders1What about that other school to the south of tswh
