footballnutDoes a win tonight lock us in for a home game?

ArrowGrad02IMO, yes.

That would be awesome!! Remember what the field looked like when Ashland played there in 2009?OQB;939749 wrote:Exactly....but if you get turf, you might as well do it the right way first.....RR1 had this image on his site a while back and that field would be beautiful at Red Rider Stadium!
Sad thing is I still think we are 3-4 years away from this being a reality with the new schools and the multi-purpose building being built....unless we have another community member step up with a donation just for it. -
FlashI don't think they disrespected us. They just didn't let us win.
-
RedRider1CF beat us 33-0 at our place. That's just a whipping...not disrespect.
Footballnut, a win doesn't lock up a home game, as Labrae and black river can both earn big points with a win...but it would make it about a 95% certainty.
If BR and/or Labrae lose tonight, I think we lock up a top 4 spot. -

I would go to more Orrville games if they had facilities like this. You know, with many schools in the county updating buildings and facilities, I wish more of them would go the turf route for their fields. It would definitely make days like this less difficult to play in.OQB;939749 wrote:Exactly....but if you get turf, you might as well do it the right way first.....RR1 had this image on his site a while back and that field would be beautiful at Red Rider Stadium!

I will say that with a win tonight we will most likely have a home game in week 11. Black River will have enough 1st level points to pass us next week as they play 8-0 Firelands ( who might go 10-0 and not make the plaoffs as they are in 10th place in their region ) but next week BR plays winless Keystone so we should move back up after week 10. LaBrae plays Girard and would gain on us but hopefully 2nd level comes thru for us. Both could lose tonight and with a winn we would definitely be home.RedRider1;940730 wrote: Footballnut, a win doesn't lock up a home game, as Labrae and black river can both earn big points with a win...but it would make it about a 95% certainty.

We need Northwest, Lexington, and W.Holmes to win to help us out, and an upset of Madison over Ashland would be a bonus..... Triway just getting a win would be icing on the cake, but as long as we have cake we can do without icing -

riders1#2 Norwayne, #4 Black River, #7 LaBrae, and #10 Streetsboro, #11 Beachwood, and 12 Garretsville ALL LOSE TONIGHT, so we WILL have a home game week 11 and finish #2 or #3 in the region. Girard will be #1 with Black River trying to hold onto 4th from Canton Central and Manchester.

OQB^ thanks PERK!

FlashSorry boys, no turf field in sight. We've looked into it as an option because we are going to redo the track after Spring Track and knew it would cost around 650,000, but that's out of the question with reduced State funding and loss of the tangible personal property tax. We will take any donations towards a turf field. It would solve a lot of problems: soccer games without lights and the over use of our field (7th, 8th, freshman, reserves, etc.) and it would allow the Boys and girls club to use the field, the band to practice on it, etc.

thePITmanCongrats to the Red Riders on your win. I'm excited to catch some playoff football this postseason. Represent Wayne County well, as you always do.

golfman61I have seen every game this year except Senior. What has happened to the short 5 or 10 yard pass and let our talented wide receivers create? We either run Mason or go for a homerun. We watched a team last night that took short passes mixed in some runs and marched up and down the field. They were putting 6,7,8 and sometimes 9 guys in the box to stop our run. If Joe fan can see that why can the coaches in the box not see this? I am not an expert but I guess maybe someone could give an explanation why we have gone away from the short passes? Stu ran for a TD against Madison on a pass that was maybe a yard or two down the field.

OQBWe have got to get back the the basic pass concepts of this offense....can we get the Coach Pat Shurmur to call some plays, the Browns don't throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field lol.
I agree though we have got to start throwing slants, outs, curls etc and let our "athletes" have the ball in space. -

Agreed! WHy cant we figure it out? -
Diehard Rider FanNice to see a lot of activity on a site regarding Orrville football. First time on the site and it reminds me of the old days on the "other" site. haha Excellent dialogue.

Red Rider81Why does coach continue to do things that do not work? last night our offense could do nothing. We ran everything out of the shotgun and clearfork knew everything we were running. when he changed and ran out of the I formation with the qb under center we went down field and scored. I joked and said it worked so we won't see it again. Low and behold when we got the ball back we went right back to what had not worked all night everything out of shotgun. Three and out then clearfork scored why didn't he stay with what was working? Just trying to figure his logic out, i'm no coach but why go back to what does not work. I also agree that we have no short passing game, clearfork did it quite well and there a running team. That may be what our qb needs to build some confidence.

riders1Every play will work if executed properly and, no play goes for td's or big gainers everytime on any level of play. You run the plays over and over and expect that you will get perfect execution at some point. Why do you see even the pros get down to the goal and get stopped on 1st and goal and not get tds, because the defense is also trying to execute the perfect defensive play. Sometime the O wins, and sometime the D wins, but I still maintain it starts in the trenches and thats where the execution of a plays success starts. It starts with execution and blocking and develops from there.
