I sat and watched the game just like you did actually pulling for the same team as you did. I can have fingers pointed at me and whispers and that sort of thing as I am the one on here that didnt hide behind a screen name. I really could care less. I will continue to go to the games and watch Orrville and hope they win despite what anyone thinks of me. I support the program also or I wouldnt make the drive (sometimes over an hour) that I do. I can definitely take the criticism guys it doesnt bother me at all. If I have made all your lives more interesting and fun in the past week then so be it but there really are more important things in life than this website, the other website and Orrville football. I look forward to seeing you all at Clearfork next week as my Vegas trip is cancelled. DO me all a favor next week, come and introduce yourself to me and tell me your opinions in person instead of once again hiding behind these screen names. Im sure none of the people who criticize me will. Or just call or text my number once again is 330-488-4462. Oh and since you all think I am the one all over Davault you should pay the 99 cents and go to tthe other site because this one is "G" rated compared to it. Thats ok though it is easy to post these things about me like Im the only one saying them because you know who I am.
You say you're done with it and have moved on, but your words and actions still have long term effects. People are still very upset! So, you are going to have to take this like a man. The people of this community care too much about our kids and this program to let you continue to say things and not be held accountable. In one breath, you say you didn't say anything but in the next breath you justify your words by "everyone else is saying it too." We are not children, that excuse doesn't work anymore. You said, you would out yourself and you did, now live with the consequences. I checked you last in person before I addressed you here. So, no more business about hiding behind screen names.

First of all spell it right, "Genius"!
Allow me to reference the Urban Dictionary
    1. Genious - It is often the case that idiots describe themselves as 'genious' but are ironically ignorant to the fact that the word is spelt 'genius' - much to the amusement of us intelligent people.
    2. Genious - What one person calls another while trying to subvert the other's intelligence, often in a public forum.

Sandra Davault had every right to look at you the way she did and whatever she said was probably well deserved. You certainly had plenty of negative things to say about her husband the whole 1st half of the game, but when we we are winning you offer no support, what so ever. This maybe 2 hours of fun on your Friday night but this is her whole life. She and the entire Davault family sacrifice countless days, hours, weekends and evenings of their lives all year long to support this program, this school and this community. I also want to make it clear, that I am not a member of the Davault family but I am proud to have a family like them in my community-this is "priceless"! You should not take any credit for making this sacrifice more difficult. You obviously don't understand what makes Orrville so special when compared to many other schools. Orrville has tremendous community support and tradition. Our program does not thrive on criticism. If you want a program like that you can travel a few miles west to a school that has very little success due to mentality that attitudes like yours create. Just see the the Time for the McCreary's to step aside at Wooster thread. If you truly care about our program, drop the negative attitude or just stop coming to games. There is no room for negative attitudes here. Our team already has to play against the opposing team and their fans, we don't need to play against our fans as well.
When you mention community support......where are they? Only heard the visitor bleachers were barely half full?? Sounds like SUPPORT to me??

Home bleachers for a 6-1 team weren't very full :)

I have watched this team for a long time. Some of the parents and COACHES need a reality check. Players shouldn't be "flipping" off stands. All though last night was a win, Players should have been disciplined for previous actions. It's funny how everyone wants to jump on one guy for speaking the truth but the truth is noone else has the courage to say anything. If some of the parents disciplined their children off the field the coaches would have an easier time on the field. The coaches seemed to have control of their team last night but next friday is another night. We will have to see ......GO RIDERS!

ow, I missed a bit! lol. I will only say this. We need all kinds of fans to make it fun. If everyone was "oh darn we lost, do you want to go to Sr. Ponchos?" pooh pooh on that. Remember how you all you felt last week (me too). How twisted up you all were inside. I got knews for you....the kids felt worse and it showed at the end of the game last week....was I upset with the penalties for basically running your mouth? yeah. Do I think there were some disciplinary actions during practice?...yeah. Am I glad that losing makes our fans and guess what...OUR PLAYERS say and do things they probably shouldn't? yeah. That is what it means to care too much. Which I am OK with. Everyone keep it up.

Story: Last year Coach D was running off the field alone after the Clear Fork whipping as he had to talk to the press. A fan (maybe one on hear?) was giving it to him real good. Coach D just glanced at him and didn't say anything. The next day he said it bothered him all night. Not the fact that the fan was chewing him out, no, he said it was the fact that he didn't have the presence of mind to stop and tell the fella "Thank You for caring that much about this team and how we play and coach....Do not ever change...you should be upset, We are going to fix this".

Amen Brother. Go Riders. We are back in the saddle and getting another dynamite player back this week.

Well said. That sums it all up! Good to have you back on here 5 knots

First off, congratulations to the Riders for the big win! One comment: We are fortunate to have a player like Brenner step in to the QB spot at a critical time and do so well, imo, of course!

I get a big chuckle thinking about what it is that's "trips the trigger" for a first time poster. And that first post is usually an axe grinding zinger! ;)

I'll bet that we are going in to week 9 with a special motive, and that is to remember and avoid last year's week 9 debacle!

Here we go, headed west on the old Pennsy towards Bellville with 5knots at the helm:

(note the two tank cars representing our newly found fuel and motivation, the passenger cars filled with the Rider faithful, and the baggage car at the rear where the trolls ride )

5knots, well said and welcome back.

    BRF, nicely done! haha :D

I will say this about Coach Davault and the rest of the coaching staff.....They do an outstanding job of using the entire season to work the kinks out and ALWAYS have this team peaking at the perfect time ready for the playoffs.

    GO RIDERS!

It helps to get healthy as well! I always try to refrain from posting on a game thread after a poor performance because it would sound like sour grapes, but as thin as we are in the depth category it really!!! can wreak havoc on a scheme or plan. Especially against talented teams. W/O oing into detail this has been as serious an issue as any with our O. Not the only issue, but when you are scrapping to find some consistency it does not help having guys out and/or hurt.
  • OQB
absolutely, and it looks like we are finally healing as a team.

It will be nice to get Joel back. Instant starter on defense, and can share carries with Mason and maybe give our run game a boost as it's struggled since the WH game.

Any update on Kyle, Drew or Stew? Radio made it sound like all 3 got hurt late in the game.

If all 3 aren't going to miss any time, then we might be looking at the healthiest our roster has been since the Copley game. I guess that's what you want going in to week 9.

All three a little gimpy Saturday am I hear, but all three expected to play Friday, maybe not 100%, but on the field.
  • NHS44
Never posted before but have some comments. While we all expected the team to do well this year, I thimk most were concerned about the inexperience of our line. We had very strong skill people. However the best 5 (maybe) have been injured most if not all of the season. While some have played none have been 100%. With what I consider their best receivers hurt is one reason why the QB has not done as well as we may have expected. As far as all the griping about the coaching, I don't even think deserves comment.

Very insightful. As I watched the 49er lions game yesterday I had to chuckle. Here are two grown men head coaches in the NFL who's emotions caused them to act like nine year olds. When you are so passionate about what you do and invest so much of your effort and emotions into your team you can behave in a manner that you regret. Let's all try and keep that in mind when we want to berate teenage kids for letting their emotions get the best of them. As I stated before, it doesn't give you a free pass to be stupid but we can certainly try to understand how stupid actions can result in stupid penalties. Live and learn everyone.
Let's get a good crowd for our game vs the colts and support our team. Go Riders.

I am not picking on anyone with that post, in fact I did not even read any of the post game stuff from theAshland game. I just imagined some of what was said. The same emotions can effect us posters who care a great deal about out Red Riders so I'm good with that. Keep the faith and the passion and if you need to vent on here...... So be it. Just keep supporting them Riders!!

In Harbaugh's interview after the game...it reminded me so much of you. Admitted fault, but basically said "I'm not going to apologize for being passionate." Good for him. It was like your twin from the Bizarro World.

I love the Riders and they definitely have my complete support. That being said, I disagree with some of the opinions on here when it comes to a couple of our players actions during the Ashland game. Sports provide an excellent opportunity for coaches (teachers) to teach valuable life lessons. The actions of a couple of our players should have been punished and is completely unacceptable. I hope that there was some sort of punishment initiated at practice because there wasn't any on game night. I know these players are valuable members of our team but we reaaly need to understand what is important here. I appreciate 5k saying the things he said but if that was his son flipping off the stands I'm guessing he would have handled it himself. (Thankfully his son never would have done it). I want the Riders to be known as winners (which they are) but I'm getting tired of hearing everyone talk about how undisciplined and arrogant we are and that our players are running the show. Clean it up!

Can't say I disagree with any of that. With all that went on that 24 hours I would tend to lean toward the staff making the right decision as to when and how those transgressions should have been dealt with.

Tell him to pick some grass and store it away as a momento and reminder that he may never step a foot on the Red Rider football field ever again! Can't wait to see him. Will it be too cold for him to wear those pretty blue crocs?

It is never too cold for Crocs or khaki shorts. Wait a minute...I figured something out...wearing the Crocs and shorts when it is cold diverts the blood from his brain in order to keep his lower body warm. All we need is some boots and pants and Wooster will make the play offs year after year.

That means his brother must be totally naked on the sidelines while orchesrating that masterful defense of his!

That defense worked in 1986. Nuff said.
