Orrville Red Rider Football 2011

ridernationAs a comment the Ashland QB is a senior, don't know if to many HS programs have an official QB coach or just a designated person who gets the title. I believe our program has put out some exceptional QB's in the past with pretty much the same personal we have had for quite awhile, whether it was Davault or Mac at the helm. Now could someone with experience help him out probably, but do we have that person available to volunteer to help is the main question. Most of these coach's are volunteer positions. I agree that our QB does start down our recievers right away, actually I am surprised we don't have more interceptions because of that, but its getting kind of late in the season to make a change now, I think we are going to have dance the rest of the season with him and here is hoping he has his best game of the year. Good luck tomorrow Riders, give it your best effort and all stay healthy.

I guess i should have said Ashlands qb played like a 4 year starter. You are correct Orrville has produced some really good qbs in the past. I just didn't want to state the obvious that our qb has regressed instead of progressed. If our pass blocking could improve that might help . Good luck tomorrow Riders, a win goes along way towards week 11.ridernation;932576 wrote:As a comment the Ashland QB is a senior, don't know if to many HS programs have an official QB coach or just a designated person who gets the title. riders1If we had a running game and stronger line play to compliment the qb and share the load would that help?

FlashO QB where are you?

OQBWhen coach Mac was the coach....Coach Davault was the offfensive coordinator, and Coach Slaughter was the quarterback coach. When Coach Davault got the head coach job in 2006, Coach Slaughter became the Offensive coordinator along with being in charge of the quarterbacks. From 2003-2010 we have been blessed to have guys that are able to direct the offense and score points. That is a direct impact of coach Slaughter!! When he got the head basketball coach job he was still working double roles.....head basketball coach and offensive coordinator, this year I believe he wanted a less demanding job on the football team, so that when basketball starts he can be with the team since he is the head coach. I think that might be why we haven't seen the development we really wanted to see.
I absolutely loved playing for both Davault and Slaughter and they both taught me so much about the game of football. I owe a big thank you to both of those guys for the man I am today....they not only coached me football, but taught me how to be a man of character.
This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.....I think we need an offensive coordinator so Davault can stick to being the guy in charge, overseeing, discipline, etc....When he has all of his focus on trying to get this offense on the tracks, I think a lot of the other little things get put on the backburner..ie penalties, turnovers, discipline. I just think he has too much on his plate right now, and when Slaughter was the OC and Davault was simply the head coach, we saw a disciplined football team. -

Red Rider NationThat was a great win for Orrville. That was the toughness down the stretch that we have wanted and needed. I thought the coaches called a good game and the players executed. No turnovers and only a couple penalties and we were there in the end. Continue to build off this game and be tough. We still have to figure out this offense on a consistent basis as we were flat until Brenner came into the game. Lastly I will say the sportsmanship and discipline last nite was the best its been all year. A clean game and a Riders win. Nice job guys!

RedRiderTraditionBeing so knowledgeable about leadership as you claimed to be Red Rider Nation, you obviously understand the importance of both positive and negative criticism. So I wonder did you tell Coach Davault man to man that he did a good job last night, like you criticized him face to face after the Ashland game? If your only willing to criticize and not offer positive reinforcement than your behavior is classless.

Read above genious! Pretty sure I said coaches called a good game. I never said a word to his face after the Ashland game that wasnt me. Oh and tell the Orrville trainer girl who pulled me aside last night too that she got me confused with someone else. She was in my grill about calling out Kyle Lichti and I have never said anything negative about him. SHe then apologized after realizing she had me confused with someone else so no big deal. I was told last week Coach Davault doesnt read these websites but I can sure tell you one thing: The look and a few choice words his wife had for me last night when I sat down in my seat was priceless!!!! I sure am not taking credit for motivating anyone but judging what I saw out on that field last night something was very different. 2 penalties, no turnovers, a cant lose attitude and a Riders win. Whatever it takes I sure hope this continues and Im sure you all do to. Go Orrville!RedRiderTradition;934273 wrote:Being so knowledgeable about leadership as you claimed to be Red Rider Nation, you obviously understand the importance of both positive and negative criticism. First of all spell it right, "Genius"!
Allow me to reference the Urban Dictionary
1. Genious - It is often the case that idiots describe themselves as 'genious' but are ironically ignorant to the fact that the word is spelt 'genius' - much to the amusement of us intelligent people.
2. Genious - What one person calls another while trying to subvert the other's intelligence, often in a public forum.
Sandra Davault had every right to look at you the way she did and whatever she said was probably well deserved. You certainly had plenty of negative things to say about her husband the whole 1st half of the game, but when we we are winning you offer no support, what so ever. This maybe 2 hours of fun on your Friday night but this is her whole life. She and the entire Davault family sacrifice countless days, hours, weekends and evenings of their lives all year long to support this program, this school and this community. I also want to make it clear, that I am not a member of the Davault family but I am proud to have a family like them in my community-this is "priceless"! You should not take any credit for making this sacrifice more difficult. You obviously don't understand what makes Orrville so special when compared to many other schools. Orrville has tremendous community support and tradition. Our program does not thrive on criticism. If you want a program like that you can travel a few miles west to a school that has very little success due to mentality that attitudes like yours create. Just see the the Time for the McCreary's to step aside at Wooster thread. If you truly care about our program, drop the negative attitude or just stop coming to games. There is no room for negative attitudes here. Our team already has to play against the opposing team and their fans, we don't need to play against our fans as well. -

Ok. I have moved on and I suggest you and do the same. I said nothing negative last night about anyone. I sat and watched the game just like you did actually pulling for the same team as you did. I can have fingers pointed at me and whispers and that sort of thing as I am the one on here that didnt hide behind a screen name. I really could care less. I will continue to go to the games and watch Orrville and hope they win despite what anyone thinks of me. I support the program also or I wouldnt make the drive (sometimes over an hour) that I do. I can definitely take the criticism guys it doesnt bother me at all. If I have made all your lives more interesting and fun in the past week then so be it but there really are more important things in life than this website, the other website and Orrville football. I look forward to seeing you all at Clearfork next week as my Vegas trip is cancelled. DO me all a favor next week, come and introduce yourself to me and tell me your opinions in person instead of once again hiding behind these screen names. Im sure none of the people who criticize me will. Or just call or text my number once again is 330-488-4462. Oh and since you all think I am the one all over Davault you should pay the 99 cents and go to tthe other site because this one is "G" rated compared to it. Thats ok though it is easy to post these things about me like Im the only one saying them because you know who I am.
