CAMPBELL MEMORIAL 2011

  • omemorialhigh
after watching the scrimmage i really cant see them having a problem with brookfield or labrae. labrae has some skill coming back but really lost alot on the line. girard and struthers are rivalry games anything is possible. south range will be a good watermark game. you wont get any favors at their place with all the brothers coming in. im really seeing 7-3.
  • BTrev
I agree. LaBrae needs linemen, and Brookfield hasn't had a winning season in 20 years. They should both get Campbell some good computer points though.
  • Spread All Day
Again with your facts being wrong. Brookfield last winning season was 1998. With multiple .5-5 records since then. But regardless, they should win a few more games than last year and give Campbell some needed CPU points
  • Ohio
Brookfield has playered everyone on their schedule hard for the last 2 years with fresh and soph's starting i believe they lost to campbell 22-7 last year i believe something like that? But this year they should be better but next year will forsure be the year brookfield gets in the playoffs.

Ohio is correct I have heard alot of good things about Brookfield could be an interesting game...BTrev you are correct 5-5 is not considered a winning season, pay no mind to Spread.

Some of you guys sure like to take jabs at each other on the most trivial issues. This forum is slowly but surely becoming like JJ Huddle was, filled with alot of bickering and nonsense, seldom staying on subject. I am starting to realize why my most valued Campbell friends post very little on here. In fact, some of them don't post at all. It would be great if we could all focus on the upcoming scrimmage vs. Youngstown East and then week one vs. Mineral Ridge. I say this with no disrespect to anyone. But this bickering is starting to get boring.

How is ridge looking this year i know they should be very young and losing their rb/wr/playmaker last year

They did lose Skiba and a couple of other kids who were key to their team last season. I would expect them to have a tough time with Campbell Memorial based on what I saw of Campbell last Saturday in their scrimmage vs. Springfield. Regarding the other competition Ridge faces, I really don't know anything else.
  • Ohio
Yeah skiba gave every team fits last year just an all around athlete.... Prolly gonna put 8 guys in the box to try and stop hughes and see what this young QB has in an actual varsity game.

Can't agree more. I miss the regular posts from pride, sonny, soup99 and I really miss my buddy no_play.....I'm trying to twist his arm to make a return. His passion for the history of the Devils always got my fire burning. I should be there Saturday, I'm still waiting on my schedule.

lets_go_devils, if you are there Saturday, you'll be alone. The scrimmage is on Thursday at 10 AM. Yes, THURSDAY.

Brookfield won the tac in 1998. I believe it was at 6-4. We'd have to go back. But how could someone win a conference at 5-5? Might be wrong, but i doubt it

That depends. 5-5, 6-4: those are not all conference games. That is overall record. Maybe they had the most wins within the TAC conference and the majority of their losses came out of conference.

I'm there Thursday... As long as nothing happens from now to then... East will challenge the devils.. This is a very good team to scrimmage...

Exactly. They may have gone 4-1 or even 5-0 against conference opponents and 1-4 or 0-5 against the rest. It's possible though.

I hope they fixed the sound system at the stadium. I remember last season when only two of the channels were working.

I haven't gotten anything from the Gridiron Club yet. Usually they send me a letter and a ticket or two. I would imagine meet the team has to be next Monday.

I started out by saying that Brookfield should get Campbell some good computer points this year. They'll be a nice challenge for Campbell. I was just contributing to the conversation.

I cited my source. If Spread has an objection, he should take it up with myvalleysports.com... not with me. If he wants to eat my lunch over 3 years, he'll have to scold Mark Asher for being off by three years too.

"We play a tough schedule and we're striving to be .500. They haven't been .500 I think since 2000, so we're talking a winning record, playoffs, and all those things you start with; basic goals. If you haven't won, you have to really work at it. You have to learn to win and do things right."

He's right about everything... it was 2003 though. I'd bet the farm on that. In 2003, Struthers beat Liberty, Warren JFK, Alliance, Canfield, and Niles. They lost to Hubbard, Campbell, Salem, Howland, and Poland. They were 6-4 in 2000.

My point... unless the only point you're trying to make is a fact, you can be off by a few years and still be right. My point wasn't that Brookfield hasn't had a winning season in exactly 20 years... my point was that Brookfield hasn't had a winning season in a long time. While they're shaping up to end that drought this year, Campbell has been to the playoffs the last couple years. Campbell should be able to get the W, and the computer points that come with it.

Just like you mean no disrespect BigDean1, I had no intention of steering things off topic.

No problem. I am looking forward to the season and our trip to Brookfield.
