These are the ramifications as a result of this young man not listening and marching to his own beat. Now he is realizing the consequences. -
OhioPatton wasnt going to do much anyway he was just a shadow of his brother.
-
omemorialhighThings are really coming together for this team since some changes were made. The Devils had a particularly good practice today and word is they are rounding into form going into the scrimmage...

You need a life my friend..go check Wal Mart maybe you can get one on layaway.
I don't LOL. Word around town, so i had to see for myself LOL. I don't live through my high school football team like you do! Why are you so mad? -

That's good news. But i hope the team can keep that going for the rest of doubles. And the season. Its amazing that one bad apple can make the team go backwards...omemorialhigh;858939 wrote:Things are really coming together for this team since some changes were made. lets_go_devilsPatton is back on the team as of today with a VERY short leash, meaning one slip and he's done. Coach moved his locker to the first one by the door and told him that's how close he is everyday to walking out of it for the last time if he doesn't get his crap together.
It's funny, I never heard of him having any problems at Poland. -
BigDean1
Unbelieveable !!! In my opinion this should not have happened. But the coaches know the players better than I do. I guess Coach Sikora believes in giving chances. I am sure Sikora means what he says.lets_go_devils;859206 wrote:Patton is back on the team as of today with a VERY short leash, meaning one slip and he's done. Good excuse, and to be honest I have no idea who your high school football team is? Where did you play football? You seem like a Struthers and Ursuline fan at the same time. I dont get it. -
omemorialhighBig mistake letting Patton back. Him and Jales together act like 5 year olds. Maybe he turns it around, maybe Ill find a 100 dollar bill in my pocket tomorrow also. By sending this message, the team wont respect Sikora in my mind. Bobby Knight not Bobby Bowden. Eventually youll lose control over the kids, if not this year down the road. My opinion, I could be wrong. I know Sikora has a good heart and genuinely cares about the welfare of his kids. Sometimes its hard not to see the plight of a kid with no home life and a father in jail, but I believe sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I hope this doesnt back fire.
-
reddevil90I see the coach as a kind and fair coach. And i also don't agree with this decision. But as dean said he knows the kid better. All i know is i seen the kid at the 7 on 7 and from just being in the shadow of his brother he is not a shabby receiver!!! He has brake away straight away speed that he will get open a few times. But i think he is going to be a better DB if he Walks the line.... All in all i have heard the team is working better together and now are looking forward to the scrimmages and the first game.... Here is to getting off to a good start and hope for the best....

I know Dom and his family very well...He left Chaney to go to a better school which was Poland his dad went to jail so he had to come to the school district that his mom stays in BECAUSE HE WOULD STILL BE THERE!! He didn't change schools because behavior problems because if you knew him like I do people would not be making the comments that they are. It's other kids on the team doing the same things and worse but only one gets in trouble tell me if that's fair. Talk to some of the kids on the team and they will tell you who gets away with murder!! If he was so bad he wouldn't be on the team, I know Siroka!!! People are always quick to listen to gossip when most of it ain't true. Ain't no kid perfect! He always go to school, he's not a drug dealer or breaking into houses or terrorizing the streets of Campbell. This kid passed all his OGT's the first time he ever took them got a good enough score on his ACT's to go to the College he wants to. Why don't we talk about that. If Siroka thought he was trouble he wouldn't be on the team. Sometimes things happen and kids make bad choices but that don't make them a bad person. I know Dom and his family very well. I thought this was a page about football not Dom Patton's personal page because to me that's all you talk about. I think this team is going to be ok. Why don't y'all wait to the season before you pass judgement on THE CAMPBELL RED DEVILS!!!! -
LINDALE
. He was right back on the team. He wasn't getting in trouble that wasn't it. It was about something else that's why I said people need to know what they talking about before gossiping!lets_go_devils;859206 wrote:Patton is back on the team as of today with a VERY short leash, meaning one slip and he's done. soupcitysoldierWell LINDALE, he was picked up by the Campbell cops for breaking curfew and he wasnt in his right mind. The cop knows his father and told him to get his butt home. So if you think this is acceptable behavior from a high school student then so be it, but I personally do not. If you think your the only one that knows the situation your fooling yourself. This is Campbell, Ohio.

LINDALE
WELL I GUESS THEY DIDN'T TELL YOU HE WAS WALKING HOME FROM A FRIEND HOUSE AND IT WASN'T THAT LATE AND HE WAS RIGHT AT HIS HOUSE. HE WAS WALKING BECAUSE HIS CAR HAD A FLAT AT THE FRIENDS HOUSE SO I GUESS THEY LEFT OUT A LITTLE INFO FOR YOU. I KNOW THIS IS CAMPBELL WHERE A BUNCH OF NOSEY HIPOCRITE PEOPLE LIVES. I JUST HAPPEN TO BE AT HIS HOUSE BECAUSE I HAD TO GO FIX THE TIRE. THAT IS WHAT I MEAN THEY SEEN HIM WALKING HOME BUT DIDN'T TELL YOU HE HAD A FLAT THATS WHAT I MEAN BY LISTENING TO PEOPLE AND DON'T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY. BECAUSE IF YOU KNEW HIM YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN HE HAS A CAR AND NEVER WALKS!!soupcitysoldier;859951 wrote:Well LINDALE, he was picked up by the Campbell cops for breaking curfew and he wasnt in his right mind. LINDALEGOOD-LUCK CAMPBELL RED DEVILS!! HOPE THE KIDS HAVE A GOOD SEASON!!!
-
omemorialhighIn all fairness to Soup, the cop has been quoted saying the young man was under the influence of a drug that he could smell. Whether that is true or not I am going to trust the cop. Now was there a flat tire involved...no reason not to believe you. All I am saying is that Soup is hearing what the cop is saying. Not judging or pinning anything on anyone.

reddevil90I'm not sure what happen or at this point care!! I know he wants to play football and if he does truly regret what ever he did "and again i don't know what it was" then i'm very happy he is back. I think its Exciting to have the son of one of Campbell's greatest players of all time in a devils uniform!!! I am not saying he possess the same skill and talents that made his dad and brother one of the areas greatest receivers or backs. Cause i have heard otherwise! But none the less he is going to help the team in some way and that's all right with me....
Well my fellow Red Devil's we are 14 days away from kicking off at John Knapick field!!! I'm extremely excited!!! Cant wait to see how Reyes and Ja'les does!!! -
BigDean1LINDALE, I have been very close to Campbell Memorial's football program for decades. Most of us are pointing to some similar team discipline incidents that took place within the 1994 football team and the granting of one young man to return to the team after he had broken many team rules. This young man made promises to the coaching staff and his teammates that he would not break any team rules again. He did. I was one of the persons to talk to this young man in an attempt to steer him down a good path not only as a football player but as a young man with a bright future ahead of him. This young man was 6-3, 240 pounds and had division one college talent. He did not listen to anyone who spoke to him. We all hope that Dominic and his teammates put any possible incidents during the summer behind them and become a good football team and good young men. Nobody wants to see that more than those who are closest to the football program. I am among some of the most passionate Campbell Memorial fans that you will ever find. As I said, many of us are reflecting on happenings during the 1994 season after the young man was permitted to return to the football team. We do not want to see a repeat of that this season. I also need to emphasize that there have been other conflicts during the
summer which involved a few of the other players on the team which Dominic Patton had nothing to do with.
Let's try to put this behind us and hope for another good season for Campbell Memorial. Dominic Patton is being given another chance and that is the decision of the coaching staff. Like I said in a previous post the coaches know these kids better than we do. I am sure the coaching staff used very careful consideration when they made their decision to allow Dominic Patton to return to the football team. Campbell is blessed to have such a good coaching staff. Maybe this whole issue is a wake up call to all of the kids on the team and they will heed Coach Sikora's warning to stop goofing off and get it together. I was told the practice on Thursday was the best of the summer and the kids are ready to smack Springfield all over the field on Saturday morning. One thing I have realized is that the kids these days have many more distractions than we did when we were in our teenage years. Peer pressure will always be there. But every young man needs to first look at himself when making decisions. GO DEVILS !!!!!!!!!! -

Thanks BigDean1, thats all I'm trying to say. I am a fan also and believe in Siroka and all the coaches at Campbell! I'm just tired of hearing all the put downs on the Hughes's and Patton when there are other players that goof off. hopefully we have a great season! Good Luck Campbell Red Devils!!!! -

LOL..I was reading this and had to make a page just to reply to this...Are we talking about Campbell's crooked cops... half of them are drunks and drug addicts now Quote me "I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT"!!!! and him running around QUOTING things about a 17yr that should tell you right there. Sorry for the good ones but come on now believe them just because they have a badge. If he was they would have arrested him and you know it. Just want something to talk about in this liltte town of ours. Need to solve these cases in Campbell!! I'm just saying..Have to lol once again on this!!! -
BigDean1By comparison, read the article today in The Vindicator about the Boardman football team. Boardman is a D-1 school. They've got 65 kids out this season. And that's way down from 85-90 just a couple of years ago. And the new head coach mentions that out of the 65 kids on the team, just 50 or so of them attended practice consistently. I am not saying missing practices or showing up late should be condoned. What I am saying is this is a problem that is more common than we may realize. If players miss practice or are often late, the coach has to exercise his authority. And he can only give the kids so many chances. Eventually, letting players slide will affect the chemistry of the team because there are players on the team who have worked their tails off all summer. I really do believe Sikora has things under control and has demonstrated that he is in charge of the football team. I can't wait for tomorrow morning. Football !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
