CAMPBELL MEMORIAL 2011

Weak schedule could hurt them. Seems like this campbell team could use a beating by a good school to wake them up. The talent is there but its highschool football anyting can happen.

Campbell is D-5 this year. It's the smallest school in the AAC-Blue. The Red Devils "play up" in 8 out of the 10 games on their schedule. South Range is D-5. Mineral Ridge is D-6. All other opponents are D-4 with the exception of Struthers, which is D-3. Ashtabula Edgewood is a team I would rather not have on the schedule. But it is what it is. This Campbell team has real good size on the offensive line, although there is some inexperience in a couple spots there. And the defensive line should be exceptional. Defensively they will be quick. Let's see how aggressive they are. Offensively, Coach Sikora will find some playmakers. Saturday is the first day of a real game situation against an opponent. Let's not put the cart before the horses and see what happens.

The coaches are taking care of it... Also this team is got what it takes to be a major threat in D5 even with the likes of Ursuline.. And it was not a guarantee scrimmage. They ran short on time with Pictures... This coaching staff is the best when it comes to controlling the a team. Everybody already has the devils dead in the water. I would not be surprised if they run this schedule. This devils team could be the best in 20 years. Defensively there gonna be hard to run on.. offensively if they find the right mixture of blockers there gonna be unstoppable.. It will all depend on the team as a whole. yes there problems but there not going to kill the season. Well should not at least.. Aug 26 will find out what this team has!!!!

I didnt mean weak schedule in that way. I just meant good teams always have a tendancy to play down to their competiton saying that playing a real good team would get them more into it..... Hopefully struthers and campbell have good seasons and have a good game before week 11 if both or either team make it.

I understand your point. Yes, it would be great if week 10 meant a whole lot for both schools for playoff positioning and Campbell Memorial Stadium would have all 7,200 seats filled and then some.

reddevil90, I feel you may be getting a little ahead of yourself here. Although size is not going to be a problem, there are holes to fill on the offensive line. We have a new starting quarterback who has yet to face anything resembling a pass rush or a blitz. We have two new starting linebackers and new kids in the secondary, a secondary which was exposed last season by teams that could pass the ball. Special teams, particularly kick coverage and kick return were a trouble spot last season. We were fortunate to have athletes last season returning kickoffs and punts who made big plays sometimes on their own because the blocking was not there. We still need to tackle better. We need to be more aggressive on defense. Right now I am staying cautious despite the fact that this team has the potential to be a good one. Senior leadership is a concern I have. The coaching staff can only do so much. The seniors have to step up. If this team stumbles and loses an early season game and does not have seniors leading, it could spell trouble.

He wont be allowed to play anyplace so it don't matter. If he is not allowed to play for Campbell he will not be able to play PERIOD!!

He can hang up his spikes because he is not going to play for Campbell. He had his chances and never listened.

lol good luck dom, actions have consequences. and you just blew your senior year. OFF TOPIC....why in the world is brian danilov telling a freshman bball players parents to send him to mooney??? and then he tells the mooney coach im sending you a kid and then the mooney coach calls the parent and says danilov told me your coming to mooney??? is danilov coaching for mooney this year??? what in the world is going on? we wonder why kids leave. danilov hasnt been at any summer practices...george simms is running them lol if he doesnt want to coach then he needs to step aside and not destroy the program on his way out.

I think Dom Patton could still transfer elsewhere. Look at the situation with Dane Hammond.

Unless I misinterpretted the rules... as long as he hasn't participated in any hitting scrimmages with Campbell, which he hasn't, he is still allowed to transfer to a different school and remain eligible, as long as his legal guardian (his Mother, right?) moves into the district and he lives with her at least 5 days a week.

Well he has transferred 3 times in 4 years.. And the state might find that funny to begin with. also the rules state According to OHSAA bylaw 4-7-2, exception 1, if a parent or legal guardian makes a “bona-fide legal change of residence from one public school district to another school district,” the student will be immediately eligible for athletics at the new school.

That's what I thought. It sounds like it's up to his Mother if and where he plays football this year.

LOl yeah if she moves then yeah.. But if you really think Asher will have him on the team after a few days of practice then good luck.... Anyways SoupCity are you sure Mr D would do that??????

Unless he cleans up his act, I don't want him at Struthers. I'm in favor of kids getting their second chances, but Dom has been a trouble maker wherever he's been. It's football, not daycare. He doesn't appear to be very remorseful, or like he's learned his lesson and is going to change.

    Struthers doesn't need any distractions.
  • BigDean1
Forget about Dominic Patton. Let's look forward to watching the other 43 kids on the team.
  • omemorialhigh
His mother lives in Campbell. His father lived in Poland and is now in jail. He cant go back to Poland without a legal guardian vouching for him, Shawn cant and wont. Dom's senior year is over...
