Orrville Football - 2010

  • RedRider1
    What say you Orrville fan?

    Questions:
    Who's the QB?
The 100th Orrville/Wooster game....can the Riders make it 6 straight?
Can you lose almost 20 seniors and still be a 7+ win team and make the playoffs?
    Any info on 7-on-7 camps?

QB job is for the taking to who decides to step up and show they can do the job. Several kids have the ability. Normally that would freak out the Red Rider faithful, but I think we are going to be more of a ball control offense with the running game this year. Don't conclude that we will we not throw the ball...we are Orrville after all...just conclude that as a defense you hopefully will need to be concerned about two guys coming out of the backfield that can both run you over and break the long one.
We have holes to fill, no doubt. We have great players returning as well. We need to stay healthy more than ever this year. A couple key injuries from this squad could be devastating.

7 on 7 camps are same as we have done in past. Green HS, Ashlan Univ, Akron U. I'll try to post some dates.

Lets get the Ohio Chatter tailgate for the 100th meeting set up now!

You would hope. The team I follow in Region 16 has graduated over 20 seniors each year for practically the past 10 years and have been in the playoffs every year since 2001. Good luck in 2010 Orrville!

That's impressive. What division? Orrville is DIV.

I'm tired of losing to Northwest and am still seething about our loss to Triway. I see we have two Titan fans and one General posting here already. ;-). Ha Ha! Pitman: Apple's team is Kettering Alter, who we had a chance of facing last year.

Good luck again this year Orrville, from your fan to the East!!!

    ;)

    BRF,
hear you about losing to NW....all the talk you hear about them dropping football hasnt really hurt them against us. Of course, we dont have 4 kids miss that game last year and I think it's close than it was......but you hit on a bigger point.

We can't start 0-2 this year and expect to be a playoff team. Both NW and Triway will be good this year and we need to beat them and get an early start on computer points. Ashland, CF and Lex will be solid OCC teams...and we need to make it count every week.

    rolly (and everyone else)
what would you say about the 100th Orr-woo game being on a Saturday night? Would guarantee a huge crowd (and probably too big really)....and give the game a little more special meaning.....plus it would give fans time to tailgate (instead of having to rush right from work to guarantee a seat)

The Wooster/Orrville game is scheduled for a Friday night. I'm excited to see what 'festivities' get lined up for the 100th meeting. Here's hoping Wooster is actually up for the game this time around.

I wish it were on a Saturday night. I would love to go, but my son plays for Triway. I can't really miss his game for the Big Game.

I hope Wooster throws some sort of week long celebration leading up to the game. I doubt they will, but I can dream.
  • CCRolly
My mistake...according to the schedule I've seen, it is a Saturday night game.
  • THE4RINGZ
Great I will definitely be at that game.

My wife is a Wooster alumni and will probably join us. Bring on the tail gate.
  • RedRider1
    Rolly,
    It is?

    Hold on.....(checking schedule)....

    You're 100% correct....Saturday October 30th, 2010.

    Good stuff rolly.
  • CCRolly
Should be a big crowd for that one. Hopefully the game means as much to the Wooster players as it will to all the people who show up.
  • RedRider1
it's always a big crowd....now add in the casual fan...where will they sit everyone? Get out the temporary bleachers.
  • CCRolly
I'm guessing extra seating will be provided on the track...which ironically, is way closer than the stands are to the field. However came up with the design for that stadium really missed the boat.
  • Mr. 300
Love the tradition this game brings. Might even try and make this one.
  • RedRider1
i'm thinking there was extra seating brought in a few yrs ago (maybe the 1 point wooster win game, Hiller's senior year??). I guess it worked then.

Really wish COW stadium had seating on the visitor side.

You could bring in some real heavy duty temporary bleachers and add another 500-750 seats on the Orrville side....but that takes $$ and planning.
  • CCRolly
    300...see you at BW's before/after the game?!?!!

I can only imagine the parking nightmare. WHS would have to send out flyers early in the week reminding its fans to car pool or walk!
  • THE4RINGZ
I live off Oak Hill and am willing to rent parking spaces at my house that night to any interested parties.
  • RedRider1
Chatter-er-er meeting at B-dubs before the game would be cool. First round is on PITman...2nd round on BRF. I'll provide comic relief....we can even live-blog it.
  • thePITman
I don't drink, yet I'm buying for everyone else? Pssh... It'll be fun, though, right!? It's Saturday, October 30, so should we have a pre-Halloween costume party? I have the Michael Myers costume... or I can go as Milton from Office Space (my normal daily attire). You'll never know the difference. ;)

I'm game for meeting up, as always! And maybe I'll buy a round.
