Orrville Football - 2010

  • CCRolly
The kids entitled to do what he wants to do...I just don't buy the reasoning totally.
  • Riderfan
Bottom line is, They wanted out of Wooster. Only the Turners know why, we can only speculate.
  • Go Riders
Official Rider football begins on Monday and I was beginning to wonder if it would ever get here! The team graduated a gifted and fun to watch class. We thank them again for the playoff ride of last season. This year the riders face new position challenges and so do our opponents. I have to believe the riders are not the only team in the OCC that has graduated key players from last season. The riders look to develop a leader at the qb spot during the next 2 wks. and I am confident the coaching staff will have an answer for those who don't believe we will be able to throw the ball. The skills testing from last week clearly showed that we have improved our team speed from last year. The riders will bring a very formidable backfield this year. I believe many will be pleasantly surprised that for once in a long time we may not have to rely on the passing game for a win. The transfer of Turner will strengthen offensive, defensive and special teams positions. This team clearly understands they have large shoes from last season to fill and they more then anyone do not want to disappoint the rider faithful. Last year we entered the season as favorites to win and go deep in the playoffs. This year it seems many want to rule us out. Maybe the underdog position will turn out to be just what the riders need for inspiration to win.

He was even playing for Wooster's basketball team in a shootout only two weeks before appearing in Orrville's football camp. It's not as if he just up and left Wooster 'cuz he wanted to play for the almighty Riders. *rolls eyes*

titan fans can't stand success and that not all Wooster players want to go to triway, as I recall a few have in the past.

    You're saying I'm jealous? No.

Directly from Stew Turner's twitter (it's how these kids communicate nowadays..lol)....his words were directed at a former teammate.

"its not about the (Wooster) players for me I want coachs that care and that are good!"

And it doesn't have to make sense to anyone but Stewart and his family. Why fault the kid for wanting the best opportunity for himself.
  • thePITman
Well if that's the case (he left to be with the better coaches, program, players, etc.) then so be it, and it is completely understandable. Good luck to Turner and his new team, the Orrville Red Riders, this season! See you guys in week 2. Can we get our first victory ever @ Orrville? It will be a tough one.

Wow,I'm shocked that noone actually know's why the Turners moved except for the turners themslves. To set the record straight this is STEWART R TURNER SR.WE LIVED ON 1035 E BOWAN ST. WOOSTER,OHIO 44691 FOR 2 YEARS. iF YOU HAPPEN TO DRIVE BY A SELL SIGN IS IN THE FRONT LAWN. We found out in May of 2010 our past landlords were selling our home.We had the option of staying until the home was sold and then find a place to live or find a place to move .90 percent of apartments, duplexs, homes were two bedrooms. 8 percent i wouldnt put my dog in , no disrespect.2 percent $900.00 per month no thank you. Icome from a christian family that beleives our lord Jesus can make a difference and we put our trust in him. My mother and I prayed over this decision many of times before she passed away july 15,2010.I went to orrville looked a Duplex the same rent i paid for our home in wooster. The duplex is beautiful beyond words and yes we have high standards. My 7 year old has begged for a back yard for years she has a huge one now.My wife wanted a garage she has one now.All I ever wanted as a father for my family to be happy wherever we were now it's in orrville regardless what school is here.I have not spoken to anyone from orrville high school till this day.My wife has done all the paperwork. My job is in wooster along with my wife.Stewart could have stayed at Wooster thru open enrollment, but after he told some friends that we were moving to orrville they started running their mouth which in return turned a lamb into a lion.No Coach McCreary has no reason to be upset nor does anyone from wooster.Stewart jr was a faithful support base for all sport teams at WHS.Lokk how he was treated during basketball season no comment. His mother and father moved him to orrville he didnt do it on his own. THIS IS THE TRUTH AND PRAY FOR US BECAUSE WITH MY MOM PASSING AND THE TRAITOR COMMENTS COMING LEFT AND RIGHT IT'S SAD AND DISGUSTING. STEWART R TURNER SR.

If Triway closes the game in 2008...they have that first win at Orrville and are focusing on 3 straight wins over Orrville.

    I think 2010 starts a little better than 2009.....just a hunch.
  • CCRolly
Ouch, that comment from Twitter has to hit a nerve with school administration in Wooster.

That was definitely a nailbiter! Driving for a potential game-winning drive with less than 3 minutes to go. A few turnovers and/or stalled drives then led to a few Orrville TD's making the margin what it was. Hopefully we can make a game of it this year, too. We'll see! Until then, good luck in your preparation for the season!

To the Triway fans that are giving me a hard time...Orrville will have something for you this year at our house. Pads go on tomorrow right? That is when all the fun starts. One of the best days of the year IMO.

Not used to all the new stuff on here yet. I guess I am just behind on the times. Someone said there is a more user friendly verson for Ohio Chatter on blackberry any help there would be appreciated. That is where spend the most time.

CCRolly-Zwick and Turner completly different situation. FYI Zwick 1 state championship and that is at ORRVILLE!
  • CCRolly
Yes...and I can still remember how disappointed and upset the Orrville faithful were at the Zwicks for leaving town. The whole Turner situation is "water under the bridge" now. Hopefully he'll help you guys out as much as you're anticipating.

Who was giving you a hard time? Thank you for confirming you will have a locker room for our kids and stands for our fans waiting for us at your house. Juuust yoking. ;-) Good luck this season, Mr. rrfan. See you in 29 days.

rrfan...you old man. Get with the times. :)

Here's a link to tapatalk. Looks like it's free if you just want to read the boards...but $2.99 if you want to be able to post here.

Tapatalk is free for Blackberry. I use it all the time. It is just a beta test. So you get text and embedded pictures only. No other graphics. It works pretty well. It works better than going to the actual site on your BB.
  • BRF
I use the Blackberry Curve with no apps. and it works well for me, even get the graphics. So I am puzzled as to why you are having a hard time, rrfan. But, BRF does understand what you are talking about when you mention "giving me a hard time"! ;-)
  • thePITman
I have yet to try OhioChatter (or the others) with my new Droid. I may try during lunch today to see if it works. I'll be very happy going into the season if it does!
  • BRF
Aw, go jump in Shreve Lake....and take your Droid with you! ;-)

Rider faithful: Any updates on our QB situation?

Thanks. I'd been wondering if one had been tabbed as the starter yet.
