GoChiefsRepaving has begun already at Daytona.

GoChiefsLooks like there is going to be a little shake up in the schedule next year, nothing official, but it sounds like its pretty much a done deal:
New Hampshire is going to lose one of it's races and it will be given to Kentucky.
Atlanta is going to lose one of it's races and they will be adding a second race to Las Vegas.
Fontana, California (Auto Club Speedway) will be losing it's February date (THANK GOD!) unfortunately, it will be given to Kansas for a second race. -
GoChiefsI love the racing in the Nationwide and Truck Series at Iowa Speedway. I wish Rusty would add seating all the way around the track and update it to try to get a Cup date. Would LOVE to see a Cup race at Iowa Speedway!

I would like to see more short tracks. A Fontana race needed to go but to give it to kansas would be ridiculous. I have tickets to the fall Martinsville race every year and I fear that NASCAR will eliminate either the spring or fall race. North Wilksboro would be a track that I would like to see them run again. It seems that very slowly Nascar is pulling away from their southern roots.GoChiefs;413910 wrote:Looks like there is going to be a little shake up in the schedule next year, nothing official, but it sounds like its pretty much a done deal:

GoChiefsGreat win by the 00. Was awesome to see that one!
Right now, you won't have to worry about Martinsville, it's one of the biggest draws. It sells out every race, no problems there. Those are the races they are trying to eliminate. They want to rid the ones that don't sell out and move it into other markets. They are definitely trying to get more races spread out all over the country. But they are doing that by taking away good races and moving them to shitty ass tracks. 'The Rock' is definitely a race I'd like to see come back. Andy Hillenburg is staying hopeful and he's keeping that track updated and in race shape. -
Bio-HazzzzardYour damn right Rockingham needs to return. Martinsville worries me, I know the economy blows, but they always call me and ask if I want more tickets. From the first year I went there in 2002 until now there are way more empty seats. But on the other hand you can't find a cheaper track to go to as far as ticket prices. My seats are on the S/F line row 30 and for Saturday and Sunday race the tix are $90 per seat combined. You can't beat the price.
-
SpeedofsandThe only other scenario I've heard is Phoenix could lose one. Martinsville has not been selling out completely the past few years, but they are safe. It is the cheapest ticket along with lots of outside improvements the last 10 years since ISC bought it. My gf lives and works there, lots of Buckeyes and Canadians go to Martinsville.
Bio- do you camp or stay in a hotel ? I always used to stay at the Dutch Quality Inn in Collinsville/Martinsville. They have a big nightclub upstairs.
Elizabeth's Pizza is a must have up there too. They might have a few locations. It is great. -
GoChiefsUsed to go to the M'ville race every spring..haven't made it the last couple...last time I was there...it was still selling out, so I just assumed. But of course, with this economy I should have known better.
As for the schedule changes...just something I read on jayski's..can't find the link now...but it said it's all but a done deal that California, New Hampshire, and Atlanta were going to lose a race and they would be given to Las Vegas, Kansas, and Kentucky. -

I always camp, I have met some great people there and still keep in contact with them. That damn train in the middle of the night is the only thing I don't care for.Speedofsand;420195 wrote: Bio- do you camp or stay in a hotel ? I stayed at the Dutch Quality Inn on a recent business trip and somehow I found myself in the night club hoisting too many cold ones. Elizabeth's is great I have eaten their pizza one time when I was up there for the race. -
Bio-HazzzzardQuestion marks to the end of todays Nationwide.
I think Carl Edwards could have prevented the crash on the final lap after hearing his comments in victory lane, but a win is a win, I guess?
Tough call, should NASCAR look into it or leave it alone? The 22 did shake it up on the lap prior. -
GoChiefsShould they look into it? Nah, let the boys do what they do. I'm sure they might step in just b/c of the comments and the history with the too, but I doubt it. At first, I just thought it was a racing deal, but then after hearing his comments, it definitely seems like there is more to it. Carl's going to get a reputation in the garage if he doesn't knock his shit off, then he's never going to get any help from anyone out on the track and others are gonna do the same thing to him. Edwards is gonna end up killing somebody though. Brad's ol' man had some not so kind words for him, huh?

gerb131Hot Carl will end up killing someone before too long. I hope his backflip comes up a half rotation short soon.

I've been hoping that happens for years now. I've always wanted to see him do a faceplant. Lol Of course, he can't win a race anymore, so we don't get to see it very often! -

No backflips for 28th lol -
ts1227Carl is turning into quite the asshole. I was fine calling it a racing thing until I heard his interview.
He's going to start getting put into the wall by a lot of people here soon at this rate -

j_crazyi hope keselowski fucks edwards up. or at least once hornish is out of contention (lap 150) he becomes a good teammate and punts that effeminate douche.
-
GoChiefsEdwards fined $25,000, docked 60 points and placed on probation in all series for the rest of the season. Keselowski also placed on probation. I think it's bullshit that Keleowski was penalized at all. His move wasn't necessarily blatant and could be considered just a racing incident. Edwards on the other hand, clearly, and admittedly, set out to wreck Keselowski.
-
SpeedofsandI just don't get it. BK moved him up like anyone else would do and get praised for it, but Nascar puts him on probation ? Carl was at fault, period. I liked Carl alot before he turned into a jackass. People keep talking about Talladega like it was BK's fault. BULLSHIT. They have a rule and a dbl yellow line there, and BK held steady. Carl took himself out and got flipped by another car. All a complete accident. Atlanta was a blatant move by Carl and could have killed somebody. Nascar did nothing about it. Carl does it again and destroys several more Nationwide cars. Nascar has failed again to do the right thing.
Ryan Newman said today "Have at it boys" does not mean wreck someone intentionally.
Look at New Hampshire...Kurt Busch and JJ hit each other but didn't put a car in the wall, it was a great finish.
If I win the lottery tonite I'll be at Bristol in a few weeks, lol.
GoChiefs, did you get the stickers ? -

I drove from Akron to Martinsville yesterday, stopped at Yaggi's cheese house in Ohio for Amish cheese and trail bologna, picked up Elizabeth's for dinner. I'm good until next year. -

I kinda see why NASCAR put Keselowski on probation, strictly to prevent a retaliation possibly. I don't agree with it, but maybe they wanted to make sure Keselowski didn't decide to pay Cousin Carl back for last weekend. Just a thought.
I guess you didn't get the PM? Yes, I did get them. I appreciate it very much! Thank you! -
GoChiefsGood to see Hornaday get back in victory lane at the truck race!
