I know what he's trying to say. And im saying skinny weak guys who will most likely always been skinny weak guys bc they're not teenagers who can mature into stronger guys don't make it in the NBA. It's a horrible example and not relatable.SportsAndLady;1873427 wrote:He's not saying Osman is the next Durant, SQ. He's simply stating that skinny guys have done well in the NBA. So your comment about him being a failure because hes a skinny white guy is just stupid. -
kizer permanenteThe only person I can think of who fits this bill it's tayshaun prince. If cedi somehow becomes the player tayshaun prince was, I'll be extremely happy. I guess I'll wait anxiously for that day.

Laley23Skinny guys who have made it:
- Durant
- Prince
- Reggie
- Steph
- Bol
- Crawford
- Iverson
- Garnett
- Orr
Now, I don't know that Osman has any skill that can relate to any of these guys. Athleticism, shooting, dribbling, whatever. But what I do know...being skinny/lean/weak does not keep you out of the NBA. It doesn't give you a fallback, and you need to excel at something, but if you do you can make it. Whether or not Osman can excel at something remains to be seen. -

I was comparing people who play/defend Osmans position. Which I meant by "fits that bill". I don't think I remember ever seeing Orr play. But other than that, Prince is the only one who had success. When you're going to be asked to cover 4's and 5's it's going to be a tough time in this modern league being small like he is. Especially if you don't have the skill set of those players. Garnett I guess you could say since he played 4/5, but A. Garnet is a lot bigger and stronger than Osman, and B. He's a future HOF'er and once in a lifetime talent. I'd be estatic if Osman had that.. He doesn't. Currys and Iversons of the world can get away with being undersized when you have amazing talent and no ones going to ask you to defend in the post. So those types with Reggie isnt a fair comparison. And, of course, you mentioned some pretty transendental talent lol.Laley23;1873432 wrote:Skinny guys who have made it:

kizer permanenteStill waiting on any Wade news...
While I think COA is right and he doesn't push us over the edge to beat the Warriors b/c he's not going to help us with 3's or defense at this point in his career, I'm still not going to turn the guy down for vets min. But I'd def take a Rose/Wade/Lebron/Love/TT with a JR, Korver, Crowder and Zazic bench. With Rose going to the bench when IT's back. That's a tough team. -
like_thatDidn’t expect bringing up Cedi Osman would bring that type of conversation [emoji15].

BR1986FBThat time Lebron spent, minus some of his comments, in that press conference was pretty entertaining. You could tell he was taking subtle digs at KI every time he referred to him as "kid." He went down a laundry list of stuff he (Lebron) tried to teach/groom KI on. These things, coincidently, were all things KI was deficient in (i.e. leadership, championship DNA, etc....)

lol.. it's a pretty slow time right now, especially if you're a Cleveland sports fan. Waiting for the Indians to wrap up the regular season, and the Browns, as you know, haven't been worth discussing. So Cavs once again dominate.like_that;1873447 wrote:Didn’t expect bringing up Cedi Osman would bring that type of conversation [emoji15]. -

speaking of Kyrie.. I always thought he was kinda reserved and a little weird.. but did anyone realize he's this much of a dick? I'm sure its not new. I just hadn't really seen that of him before. His interviews recently come off very dickheaded-ish.BR1986FB;1873448 wrote:That time Lebron spent, minus some of his comments, in that press conference was pretty entertaining. 92.3 here in Cleveland refers to KI as a "kook" and that he's "out there." Truth be told, they think he's batshit crazy. Super smart, just different. And yes, he does come across as a D.kizer permanente;1873454 wrote:speaking of Kyrie.. I always thought he was kinda reserved and a little weird.. but did anyone realize he's this much of a dick? The thing I like about LBJ (in instances like these. not when he's a passive/aggressive bitch) vs KI in situations like this is that KI will either beat around the bush or say some about LBJ that comes across as a dick. Lebron, being a master of the passive/aggressive will say something pretty scathing without saying it directly. Everyone gets it though. -
wildcats20Sounds like Wade will sign tomorrow.

Commander of AwesomeIf the Cavs start Rose/Wade/TT we'll have the worst spacing in the association. Ugh, gonna be some ugly ISO basketball.

ppaw1999If the Cavs start Rose and DWade would like to see Love, LBJ and either Korver or J R Smith. Would make for some serious scoring threats.

The thought of that effense makes me gag.ppaw1999;1873537 wrote:If the Cavs start Rose and DWade would like to see Love, LBJ and either Korver or J R Smith. Would make for some serious scoring threats. -

True... but you're not starting Jr over either of them. And Rose is going back to the bench when IT comes back. Plus Miami did alright with a similar lineup. I agree it's not ideal.Commander of Awesome;1873534 wrote:If the Cavs start Rose/Wade/TT we'll have the worst spacing in the association. Ugh, gonna be some ugly ISO basketball. -

I'm starting Rose over IT, EZ. Rather have defense with Rose, and scoring off the bench with IT.
I'd start JR smith over Wade. More spacing, better defense. Scoring off the bench with Wade.
I'd have second unit of IT/Wade/Korver/Crowder/Frye
OR Wade/Korver/Crowder/Green/Frye -
like_thatWell it's a done deal. Wade is now on the roster. I am glad they got this done right in time for training camp.

I will be happy just as long as they don't have to count on Shump for any meaningful minutes.Commander of Awesome;1873574 wrote:Two things I do not agree with:

I'm not sold IT should start over Rose either, but IT definitely is a better 3 pt shooter than Rose to help with spacing. Rose defense is a solid point though.Commander of Awesome;1873574 wrote:Two things I do not agree with:

I just have a hard time staritinf Jr over Wade. Wades a better player than him even at his age. And better defense is probably negligible. They're both not going to be great defenders. -

They're both bad 3 pt shooters, but yes IT is better than Rose.kizer permanente;1873580 wrote:I'm not sold IT should start over Rose either, but IT definitely is a better 3 pt shooter than Rose to help with spacing. Rose defense is a solid point though.
