Agree with this. Cavs GM is just hoping Ainge caves and throws in a draft pick, or something. I bet there will be a lot of talk about this and the Cavs won't get anything extra.Commander of Awesome;1868950 wrote:They can ask all they want, they wont get either.
I think either trade goes through as is, the trade is rescinded and the Cavs trade Kyrie later (probably for a worse deal bc Cleveland), or MAYBE cavs get an extra pick of some kind that probably isn't that great. Like swapping 1sts or getting a 2nd rounder. -

Im interested in hearing what you think the primary lineup would be in this scenario.Commander of Awesome;1868896 wrote:By this logic, yes he is a throw in who I don't think will see major minutes on the Cavs. I'd be pretty surprised if he played more than 20 min a game (barring injury) in the playoffs against a good team. -
Ironman92I really don't want IT for KI. If they throw in JT or JB I guess it helps but don't like IT in the playoffs.
Is DW coming or not...thought that was a done deal. Hopefully DR and KL can have good healthy seasons. Would love to have GH but not going to happen. Also, fuck SC, DG and KO. -

GOONx19^ Thanks. I guess I'm not confident in a healthy Rose.

Oh I'm not confident in D Rose either. But he is an upgrade to IT. The drop off on Offense from IT to D Rose, I do not see as major. The main thing I'll give IT is getting to the line (lot of which I attribute to his size tbh). IT coming off of a major hip injury, it's not good. The drop off on defense, rebounding, and size is fucking massive. Even with IT, we need to be in either the PG market, or back up SF market so LBJ can play PG.GOONx19;1868975 wrote:^ Thanks. jordo212000As much as I want to dislike Kyrie Irving, I can't help but side with him in this ordeal. Lebron has been holding the franchise hostage and his "will he, or won't he?" after each season would absolutely wear on somebody. Kyrie is petulant, but Lebron acts like a 9 year old girl with the passive aggressive social media stuff. It was clear that the city wasn't big enough for the two of them. With all this being said, we've already seen what happens when Kyrie is top banana... I think the Celtics gave up too much. Even if IT has a bum hip.

BR1986FBMore trolling/thread shitting....shocker.
Anyhow, some speculation, with Gilbert pulling out of the renovation deal, that if a deal doesn't get done within a year that the Cavs could be looking to relocate. Even with 11 years left on their lease at the Q. -

The thing about it is that it's not all that bad of a deal. Gilbert's going to foot the bill for half of it.Verbal Kint;1869190 wrote:Gilbert loves him public monies for his private ventures -

SportsAndLadyCavs relocate? Good lord, stop.

wildcats20I can see it now...the Seattle Cavaliers.
-
jordo212000I don't think the Cavs would be crazy enough to leave... but I think we have all learned to not put anything past Gilbert

jordo212000Cavs are no longer pursuing additional compensation in Kyrie trade. Obvious outcome because Celtics had all the leverage. The Cavs saw all the other offers and took this one despite knowing of IT's injury history

ppaw1999I listened to a Celtic podcast. It was interesting to get their take. Since they ended up with the best player in the trade, they felt they got the better end of the deal. One thing I felt was amusing is when they said that when Irving or Hayward sits, they would still have a good offensive player on the floor to carry the team.
It didn't seem to work that way for the Cavs when Lebron sat. The other thing they brought up that I agreed with was coaching. They feel Stevens is a hell of a good coach and can get the most out of his player. I would give the coaching advantage to the Celtics over the Cavs. -
Commander of AwesomeTo me, this trade is all about the Nets pick. We better hope it's top 3, and I wouldn't bet on the Nets finishing as a bottom 3 team.
Atlanta, Bulls, Knicks, Magic could all be worse. -

Wouldn't be the Knicks if they didn't end up in no man's land picking between 6th and 8th.Commander of Awesome;1869759 wrote:To me, this trade is all about the Nets pick. We better hope it's top 3, and I wouldn't bet on the Nets finishing as a bottom 3 team.

This is a good side point, though. The east could have the bottom 3-5 teams in the league next season. Who in the west is going to finish worse than Chicago, Indiana, Brooklyn, New York, Orlando (and possibly Philadelphia when three of their starters inevitably get hurt for the season)? -

In the West bad teams are: Lakers, Clippers, Mavs, PHX, New Oreleans, Sacremento.friendfromlowry;1869795 wrote:Wouldn't be the Knicks if they didn't end up in no man's land picking between 6th and 8th.
