BR1986FBSounds like the new GM was on the defensive, from the start, regarding questions about IT's health in today's presser. Gave the impression there was no timetable for his return. Had heard Boston was projecting he could miss up to 70 games this year. If that's the case, he probably was a throw in.

You haven't heard of Jason Lloyd?SportsAndLady;1870543 wrote:Took a month to find someone who agrees with you, and I don't even know who it is
Been a cleveland reporter for as long as I can recall. Worked for the Akron Beacon Journal and now writes for the Athletic. Pretty in the know. -

BR1986FBLloyd is very solid. Can't remember the dialogue but he had a conflicting take about some player, that everyone went against him on, and Lloyd was right. He's pretty solid and his takes are usually good. More times than not, he says things that piss off the homers.

My point was, regardless of whether it's news a Cavs fan wants to hear or not, Lloyd is usually right and a pretty reliable source.GOONx19;1870618 wrote:Great story, thanks. -

I wouldn't say usually right, but he isn't bad. Definitely not a typical espn tmz fuck boy. Windhorst wasn't either until he went to ESPN. For some reason ESPN still thinks their tmz style reporting is the way to go despite losing money.BR1986FB;1870621 wrote:My point was, regardless of whether it's news a Cavs fan wants to hear or not, Lloyd is usually right and a pretty reliable source. -

Commander of AwesomeIt essentially says Cavs aren't trading the pick unless LBJ says he's staying. This is from the Woj pod with Zack Lowe.
-
BR1986FB
Which is the smart thing to do, imo. Unless LBJ commits, that pick is too valuable toward building this teams future for life after Lebron if he leaves. Too dicey taking a chance he stays when most signs are pointing toward the opposite.Commander of Awesome;1871143 wrote:It essentially says Cavs aren't trading the pick unless LBJ says he's staying. Not really. If you look at a lot of the comments on this thread, they'd have no issue trading that NJ pick. I'm thankful LBJ returned and brought the city a championship but I don't trust him. I could see them trading that pick, still getting beat by GS in the Finals, and the cupboard being absolutely bare for the next 3+ years.ernest_t_bass;1871149 wrote: -
ernest_t_bassLiterally everyone knows that they won't get rid of that pick without a guarantee from Lebron on staying. It's not rocket surgery.

BR1986FB
Well then they likely won't be moving that pick because I seriously doubt he commits.ernest_t_bass;1871152 wrote:Literally everyone knows that they won't get rid of that pick without a guarantee from Lebron on staying. It's not rocket surgery. -

Sounds good but do you really think they will match up with Golden State? They keep bringing in players at the end of their careers for bench help and expect a different result. I keep reading that the next big move they hope to make is to bring in Wade. Do you think that would get them over the hump to compete with the Warriors? -

Dwade? No, not at all. Can't shoot, can't defend. Anybody that we bring in needs to be able to do two things at an elite level, shoot and defend. He's below avg in both of those.ppaw1999;1871564 wrote:Sounds good but do you really think they will match up with Golden State?
