Cleveland Cavaliers 2017-2018 Offseason

supermanTIL ETB and I might have some mutual friends.

BR1986FBSounds like the Cavs are now dangling that Nets 1st rounder they got from Boston in trade talks. They'd better get a friggin' haul if they move that pick.

Only question is "when is it most valuable?"BR1986FB;1870081 wrote:They'd better get a friggin' haul if they move that pick. -

Personally, I keep it. If Lebron commits after this season, then I maybe use it to add a major piece. If he leaves, you use it to rebuild. I'm not using that pick this year because, chances are, they fall short and if he bolts, the cupboard would be pretty bare.ernest_t_bass;1870113 wrote:Only question is "when is it most valuable?" -
SportsAndLadyI am trading that pick now for a superstar. Lets go win a championship this year.

I agree. The question is, who can they get?SportsAndLady;1870118 wrote:I am trading that pick now for a superstar. Lets go win a championship this year. -
slingshot4everRumor is trading that pick and Love for Anthony Davis

For a deal like this, yes I make the move but I'm not packaging that pick, with another player, for some crap sandwich like Wiggins (his name wasn't brought up, just an example).slingshot4ever;1870157 wrote:Rumor is trading that pick and Love for Anthony Davis -
GOONx19The most shared rumor on twitter that appears to be completely made up is Shump and pick for Cousins.

Yup, that's being thrown around a lot by the pundits as well. AD is a pipe dream that isn't happening. I could see cousins for the pick though. If they get cousins, does that mean Love will be shipped off as well?GOONx19;1870172 wrote:The most shared rumor on twitter that appears to be completely made up is Shump and pick for Cousins. -
kizer permanentePelicans haven't done anything with Anthony Davis so I can't say I'd see why he was off the table. I'm sure they'd want way too much for him. But I'd have to think they've already questioned if he's the man or not.
-
ernest_t_bassI like Love. I hate seeing him in trade talks. I personally feel like he is a piece to what makes the core. Of course, so was Kyrie, so...

Laley23Id make the deal for Cousins immediately.
He is the best C in the league, and it allows Love to be a shooter/spread the floor 4. Since his weight loss, he has little to no inside game.
Obviously Davis would be better, because of the year left on contract. But I don't necessarily think skill (and injuries) make him a better player than Cousins.
And people were saying that George and Butler were pipe-dreams. They weren't. It didn't work out, obviously, but they were VERY attainable as we have come to find out. Its the NBA...I don't think anything is a pipe-dream anymore. -

friendfromlowryIf you make a trade though, don't the salaries have to semi match up? Or no?
Cousins and Davis are making $17 and $22 million/year. -

Cousins....don't like his demeanor and doesn't seem like a good 'team' guy.kizer permanente;1870291 wrote:Davis or Cousins? and why not? (for both)
Just don't think he is a good enough player to compensate for that -

Well I mean for sure he'd have to buy in and understand he's going to lose some scoring chances. I guess I don't know him well enough to know if that's a long shot or not. His offense, I think, makes him def worth it though. That'd be a huge upgrade.wkfan;1870452 wrote:Cousins....don't like his demeanor and doesn't seem like a good 'team' guy.

Also.. you have to be pretty certain he's going to resign to make it worth it. -

Just trade Draymond for Cousins and the roles are reversed except Cousins is a lot better than Draymond.wkfan;1870452 wrote:Cousins....don't like his demeanor and doesn't seem like a good 'team' guy.
