Lebron leaked shit to the media when he was in Miami. It's not a stretch to think he'd do it here. I guess we'll find out eventually, once KI's gone.

Google is your friend. Kyrie and his agent have already accused Lebron of leaking the trade request. I believe them. It may be a bitch move, to want out of a championship caliber squad, but I don't think Irving really relishes the "villain" tag and would've preferred this to go more smoothly. Why Lebron keeps getting a pass for the shit he's previously pulled is beyond me. Dude is the king of the passive/aggressive's. To think he'd leak info to make KI look like the bad guy is by no means a stretch.

And now, with the fact it's knowledge that Irving wants out, and Lebron won't commit, it's put the Cavs in a bad spot. Do you try to go all in, trading for vets to try to get another ring, hoping he stays, or do you deal KI for draft picks, planning for the future, if he bolts? Like I said, it's put the Cavs in a bad spot.

Not seeing anything regarding leaks in Miami.

I guess I just don't understand what difference it makes with his trade value regarding how it got out that he wanted traded. How does that affect his value? Because it makes Kyrie look like a bitch and team's don't want that?

What about the reports that Kyrie won't commit to anyone long term?

If teams around the league know (or see) that the situation between Lebron, Kyrie and the Cavs isn't going to work itself out and he (Irving) needs to be moved, they are going to think they can get him for less than equal value. Had this not been leaked, the Cavs could've gone into trade talks like "we're looking to change our dynamic....we don't think the roster, as constructed, can beat the Warriors....we're willing to part with Kyrie to shake things up" versus 'Kyrie wants out....the situation looks unfixable.....what can we get?" In that situation, the Cavs likely get much better value, operating from a position of strength. I don't see them in that position right now. Teams will likely just wait it out until the situation becomes miserable and the Cavs just trade him for less than what they should've gotten.

Yeah, I know they can sit on KI and make him play out his contract but I don't see them being as cohesive, and winning another ring, with a player who feels like he's a hostage.

No doubt that the fact he (KI) won't commit long term is a factor.

I think it could come down to a bidding war. If 20 teams have shown interest then someone might step up to insure they get him. I think the Cavs are doing the right thing and are taking their time. There is no need to panic right now and take whatever they can get.

LeBron James' Relationship with Cavaliers Ownership Reportedly 'Beyond Repair'

As many NBA fans wonder whether LeBron James is entering his last year with the Cleveland Cavaliers, a source told longtime NBA writer Chris Sheridan the four-time MVP is already planning for his exit.

"This will be LeBron's final season in Cleveland," the source told Sheridan. "He is 100 percent leaving. Relationship with owners beyond repair."
When James re-signed with Cleveland in July 2014, he appeared unlikely ever to depart Northeast Ohio a second time. In his first-person essay with Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins announcing his return to the Cavs, James emphasized "my calling here goes above basketball."

Much has changed since then, though. The Cavaliers won their first title, which cemented James' legacy.

Perhaps more importantly, an organization that was rarely a model for the rest of the league has been thrown into disarray this summer.

The Cavs jettisoned general manager David Griffin, who helped build a team that reached three straight NBA Finals. In his place comes Koby Altman, who is only 34 and spent one season as the assistant GM before getting the top job.

Since they waited so long to formally hire Altman, the Cavaliers were without a general manager who could get a Jimmy Butler or Paul George trade across the line. Both players ended up elsewhere.

Compounding matters, ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst reported in July that four-time All-Star Kyrie Irving is seeking a trade out of Cleveland.

James turns 33 in December, so it's understandable if he'd want to spend the remainder of his NBA career in a more stable atmosphere. And Cleveland's front office may already be bracing for him to leave after the 2017-18 season.

ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Cavs see trading Irving as an opportunity to acquire a young star around whom they can build for the future, rather than add a ready-made talent who can bolster their title hopes with James in the short term.

I'll give Sheridan his due because he's the one who broke it that LBJ was returning, but his statement isn't something I'd be too worried about. Now had the Cavs just got eliminated from the playoffs and he tweeted this, THEN I'd be concerned. If the Cavs return to the Finals, we are 10-11 months away from when LBJ would need to make a decision. A lot can happen between then and now.

Besides, three of LBJ's closest associates have already refuted Sheridan's report.

I've heard everything today regarding the "beyond repair" comment, right down to the ridiculousness that Gilbert is a Trump supporter and after Trump's latest comments/actions about these Neo-Nazi's that it was the "final straw" for Lebron. SMFH

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving Met In Miami

Here are Rizzo’s exact words on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ superstars:“From very reliable sources. Plural. Kyrie and LeBron were in the same room over the weekend in Florida…Apparently these guys were in the same room and here’s the deal. I don’t know if there’s a thawing out process. All I do know is LeBron didn’t punch Kyrie the way Stephen A thought he would. I can report that. As for what they talked about or discussed…it was very cool. They didn’t get into any heated discussions.”

I guess LBJ/Kyrie/Wade to Miami is all but a done deal.

Lebron is leaving, I don't think there is any question of that. He has had ample opportunity to shut it down and he refuses to. Seems clear that he is laying some groundwork for another destination. His bad relationship with Gilbert (warranted, he's a bad owner), organizational chaos and a team that cannot beat Golden State as currently constructed would be the reasons why. I don't blame him.

    You mean opinion, not facts.

When turdo posted here regularly years ago he denied he was a needle dick troll. His first few posts since (x years) are on two Cleveland threads being the classic passive aggressive troll he has always been. I'm sure he will take his ball and go home per usual.

Sources: Cleveland, Boston seriously discussing Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas deal, expected to include Jae Crowder.

I will be fucking furious if we trade Kyrie for 2 bums.
  • wildcats20
Another shoot first PG who is tiny? Yeah, no thanks. I'd play it out with Kyrie.

Crowder COULD be a nice piece though. But that is a rough deal.

Oh god I hope not. This trade makes no sense on any level.
